Props to Jorg,Sebastian, and Martial for working so well with the community and really listening to their concerns and wishes! So glad that we have these guys working behind the scenes to improve the sim. I don’t think I’ve even seen a developer team that is as focused on improving the quality of their product as much as these guys are!

Within the current limitations of observational meteorology, the levels of local scale details people expect, the vastness of the planet, the transient nature of weather and yet the role of persistent phenomena in shaping the conditions on the surface, along with resolving the three dimensional nature of the atmosphere in the form of winds, temperature, moisture, clouds, precipitation and haze, MeteoBlue and Asobo have done a remarkable job of, as FrankMSFlightSimulator notes, making a "digital twin" of the Earth in real time. very sad news about weather api.. It is very awkward that we cant use accurate weather radar in the sim... It ruins our experiences of immersion critically.

Thanks for addressing the weather API question, despite the fact that the answer is "no we can't because we are not the owners of the data".
It's nice to get the news about that and know if we can still spect the weather API or not.
Sucks. Just need them to get on their horses and start using the data the way it's supposed to be used.
Are the side panels of the over head panel usable such as the IrS switches and do the fire extinguishers work?

Can you PLEASE fix the terrain maps for KDFW and KMCO? I asked this a month ago and there has been no response. They are horrible and causing my A320 to crash no matter what I do.
i flew a cessna 172 into a cloud in live weather the other day and immediately experienced large bumps etc, maybe not quite as severe as i would expect in a small aircraft but it was very much there. I am using FSRealistic for camera shake so that would make it more obvious than with the standard camera shake in the sim.

Thank you all for taking the time to make this sim more than just a software that exists and to put human faces to it all, and of course for all of the wonderful information about the direction of our favorite simulator.

Will there be a solution to the CTD’s and black screens when flying on Xbox? If I load into big airports like KLAX, KLAS,KJFK, it crashes. If I get lucky enough to at least sit on the runway, the screens are blank. This is a never ending issue.

The Shutdown bug in VR is not important? It happens literally every single time to any VR Users, but it is not important to fix it, ridiculous

It could be because they track statistics on the low percentage of gamers who use VR for MSFS.

I heard that too, and thought "did he just reveal the release date?" I mean he didn't exactly say it, but at least we now know it'll be between 1st September and 31st December.
These comments are surprisingly wholesome for our community of professional nitpickers 😂 want to say thank you for my favorite feature: the option to change the menu music to the legacy MSFSX theme. Brings me back to all the headaches at first trying to understand my aircraft, then the program it runs on, then the computer that runs on, then communties of help that all of this runs on. Every pc like every person is different, to optimize one thing for so many peope to share is why its called the most advanced program ever made.
we need a "Favourite" feature for aircraft selection.

Thank you for you continued work. As for thunderstorms: of course you couldn't find a thunderstorm anywhere in the world, because there hasn't been a thunderstorm in Live Weather for at least two years now. The only way to get lightning is using weather presets.

Heidelburg was where the Headquarters of U.S. Army Europe was from the end of World War II until after the Reunification of Germany. A Beautiful Town. I highly reccomend going to a "Burning of The Castle" an Awesome Fireworks display. do it from a Dinner Cruise. I live there in the late 1970s to the early 1980s.
For you on console...if your on the X , and your sim is actually installed on your hard drive. And your hard drive is jammed packed of other games, your console is gonna struggle. The sim needs some free space to run.
Please reconsider your position on the VR bug. It has over 300 votes in the community forums.

The only thing stopping me from flying the ornithopter more is that it messes up my control scheme every single time. If that were fixed I wouldn't be so afraid at asking my 5 year old for plane recommendations each session.
When we are talking about shallow water textures and taxi info etc we are in a good place. This is a golden age of flight simulation. Look at where we were just a few years ago.
Please, do photogrametry on major brazilian capital cities. Curitiba is capital of Paraná and have photogrametry in Google. Please please please!!!

Are expectations in regards to realism are demanding. We expect weather radar operative in all PMDG AIRCRAFT. unlocking cockpit doors. More realistic ai traffic control.
I still remember the old days in FSX when there was only Aerosoft who had a high fidelity A320 product out there 😂😂

When will people realize that certain weather issues won't translate well in a sim?
also the challenge to model and simulate it is so challenging. People don’t understand the scale and how heavy such simulations would be if it’s done to the expected fidelity.

News about weather API is disappointing. I understand there is terms which Asobo can't share another company's data. What is solution, do 3rd party plane developers need to pay for the same weather data to implement weather API. Then that becomes a subscription on the user. Which might not be cheap.

🇧🇷 Lançem o Fligth Simulator nativamente para o Meta Quest 3 por favor, mesmo que tenha que reduzir a qualidade gráfica e técnica para o Mínimo eu ainda compraria se pelo menos a qualidade dos aviões, nuvens, física de voo, iluminação fossem boa e aceitável, o cenário poderia ser a maria texturas em baixa qualidade, lá de cima tudo ficaria lindo é igual ver o mapa via satélite de cima é bonito, só que nas capitais dos principais estados e países as cidades poderiam ser 3D simples só pra ser diferencial, e ter em todo o mapa o relevo real pelo menos, amaria viajar pelo Brasil, EUA, Inglaterra, Russia, China, Japão, Peru, Espanha, Portugal, Argentina, Alemanha, Israel, Egito, Irã, Lituânia, Finlândia, Filipinas entre outros pelo mundo, eu pagaria com muito prazer para poder jogar nativamente no Meta Quest 3

Thanks for saying the quiet part out loud. TLDW: VR users are not worth the time. I understand there is a language barrier here but seriously.. finish a flight, turn the power off on the airplane and you are popped out of the cockpit to the logbook. It is not pleasant.
I love the beginning of this video - realistic sounding ATC with accents! But in MSFS 2020 the ATC is awful and voices are virtually all the same :(
Why you can't normalize audio level on your videos? Moments like @4:24 are terrible experience. Use AI to improve sound for our sake.

Well that sucks, weather radar is essential to airliner flying as they try to fly as much as they can. To hear that it will not be happening because of the Meteoblue partnership which I knew it was most likely because of them that they couldn’t expose the data, that is a huge letdown. I’m hoping that they find an alternative for weather provider, one that is open source and they can expose the data so developers can take advantage of it and display real time 3D weather on their aircrafts. In the meanwhile I guess that is something X-Plane 12 is going to have an advantage in and will most likely from now on do my airliner flying in X-Plane instead.
You know.. after probably 30 complaints with zero results you’d think someone would say something. Game crashed again. I’ve counted now over 100 times… literally every time I play it’s only a matter of time before it shuts down. Never fails such a waste of miney
It was working a month ago, now IDK WTF is going on. When I try to start it from MS Store, it says the game isn't in my account. I'm sick and tired of reinstalling this POS , only to have it break , and have to do it all over again.

I notice MSFS 2020 traffic acts like FS9. Air traffic not spaced out, continuous go arounds, inaccurate airport takeoff and landing runways. The bottom-line is if you can make it work then don't lead us into disappointment when you cant deliver. sorry ai traffic inop, weather radar not realistic, msfs limitations list. Reminds me of the Boeing 737-MAX. We rushed our product in regards to sales not quality and safety. If you cant deliver then shutdown the MSFS PRODUCT LINE. Give us a inop list, limitations and work in progress. Our expectations are high and we want to see weather radar work on all PMDG aircraft, I wanna see ai aircraft space properly, proper runway takeoff and landing. If you say its as real as it get then make it as real as it gets. Its all good X Plane 12 will be glad to take over and make it as real as it gets. Cockpit doors that unlock!!!! Get to work or qiut!

No weather API? So no accurate weather radar basically indefinitely. Incredible stuff, really. They can't negotiate with Meteoblue? They can't open the weather to injection from third parties without giving away MeteoBlue data? To essentially just be told 'no' for what is a fundamental feature of airliners is extremely disappointing.

I need those tbh, I’ve been waiting on this A320neo since it was on SU14 beta
I can travel to every major airport in Australia and using our meterology bureau get an exact measure of the current local weather and it's always correct EXCEPT if we get thunderstorms, hurricanes. cyclones etc and then it's all missing. There is NO 150-200KMH winds. They just don't even go above 50kts. Camped out Cairns and Darwin last few months and their cyclones and none of that action was live or in real time. Not good enough.
AGAIN, ASOBO deflecting the question of the issue with DX 12 broken ground tiles which at first they originally blamed Nvidia for. Almost 2 years later since then and they still not a single word and they just keep ignoring the question every time it’s asked. Y’all are worse than politicians 😂😂
Yeah, you’ll NEVER fix the VR shutdown bug EVER. This makes me wonder if it’ll be carried over into msfs 2024. It happens every single time - and has nothing to do with fps. VR users are second class citizens.
