Syed Hoque yes, it will be its second Europe-USA flight. Also consider that Athens does not have a direct year-round flight to New York now.

It's a fifth freedom flight, like SIA does on FRA-JFK route. The actual route is DXB-MXP-JFK and EK has the right to sell tickets on MXP-JFK route as well. EK flies on several other fifth freedom routes, for example GIG-EZE, LCA-MLA, HKG-BKK, CMB-MLE...
