    Hey Payton, thanks so much for these past few lap guides/setups for the weekly LFM MX5 races! I see your name pop up in the entry list for the races and it always good motivation for me to get up (or down?) there with practice. You've definitely helped cut down the guess work. Thanks again!

    Here is a little tip for the corkscrew: Once you see down, aim for the gap between the third and fourth tree.

    Great guide, I went down from 1:42ish to 1:38 so far but I'm having trouble keeping my tires warm. What ambient and track temperatures do you use?

    • @Paypay22
      @Paypay22  5 месяцев назад +1

      This lap was done on pretty temperatures, as cold as RSR would allow. I think 10 ambient 14 track maybe. Cold air gives more speed on the straight and the colder track temp can be negated with warming up the tires before the lap. This is a quali lap, because i scrubbed the tires to heat them up first. On LFM race pace without hearing the tires I was hitting high 35 low 36, there isn’t really a lot you can do to keep them warm in the race

  • @MrHaggyy
    @MrHaggyy 9 месяцев назад +1

    Great video. I just got started with LFM and while i like the MX5 Cup car i can't enjoy Laguna Seca jet. A lot of blind corners, the red curbs will kill you if you get to close and somehow with a pedal shifter the car is unstable as hell.
    I can get a 1:40 with the stock car and it's all about getting 4-5kph more through all the flatout corners. Can't wait to get to any of the european tracks where you don't die instantly you slightly miss a point and can actually take different lines.

    • @Paypay22
      @Paypay22  9 месяцев назад

      Are you struggling with instability on downshifts? If you aren’t already, try to do heel and toe to keep it stable 👍

    • @MrHaggyy
      @MrHaggyy 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@Paypay22 Yeah I still need to learn heel&toe on the MX5. Struggle with the balance of a good heel and not over braking the car. But I really like the car on Brno, Barcelona, or Imola, where you brake primarily for rotation not so much for losing speed.

    • @Paypay22
      @Paypay22  9 месяцев назад

      @@MrHaggyy While it’s called heel and toe, everyone i know who does it uses the top left of their foot for braking and top right for blipping the throttle, so you don’t literally have to try use your heel, so try playing around with that 👍

      It’s definitely a significant amount, but that is a good idea!

    • @gary9388
      @gary9388 9 месяцев назад +1

      There's an article on race department where one of the Kunos developers says It's not like you're going to gain seconds with Hshifter and clutch. It's more like 2-3 tenths maybe and thats for a highly trained and skilled driver that knows how to use clutch and blip and h shifter. An average driver that uses paddles will probably be faster with them because it will have a more precise and easier job behind the wheel.

    • @Paypay22
      @Paypay22  9 месяцев назад +2

      If you’re a faster driver with paddles you can definitely beat some H shifter drivers. But at the top end, paddles can’t beat H shifter. On mugello I was losing nearly a full second on paddles, so the difference is definitely there!

    • @Paypay22
      @Paypay22  4 месяца назад +1

      I use my bare feet 😂 with shoes on the pedals feel much too close and i have less control on them. I don’t keep my heel on the base, either.

    Why is the RF pressure 1 psi lower than the other tires? Does it have to do with the track direction?

    • @Paypay22
      @Paypay22  5 месяцев назад +1

      There are more right hand corners so there is a lot of heat going into the right front, and more heat means higher tire pressures. To stay at the optimal pressure, it has to be lower on the setup compared to the other tires

  • @Dan-xu7tw
    @Dan-xu7tw 18 дней назад +1

    I have a 1:38 and although i can see someone getting maybe 1 second or 2 faster, 3 is legit just not possible so im missing some setting or something. Comparing my lines to yours its very similar but you are 3 seconds faster idk what to do. Theres gotta be something im missing.

    • @Paypay22

      Could be the difference in session temperature, i was using 10c which is high enough to be valid on RSR, the colder air will give you more speed on straights
