    Nice Race! That Turn10 is so easy to commit a mistake. Btw that was me on P2, I was doing a nice race and I was about to catch the P1 but unfortunately didnt calculate my fuel right and it runned out on the last lap. 😅

      Glad you found this video, that's an easy mistake to make.

      How do you calculating the fuel for races in AC? I kind a strugle with that

    • @John74YT
      @John74YT  3 месяца назад +2

      Two ways
      First is race length in seconds ( 20minutes - 1200 seconds ) divide that by pole position time in seconds then round up to the next whole number ( 12.2 laps will be a 13 lap race ). I always add a litre for safety.
      Second way is to look at previous race results and see how many laps they raced.

    Another cracking combo! Love throwing the little cuties through the corkscrew!

      Thank you 👍🏻. It is a fun combo. I just wish I had a little more than 5 laps of practice.

    Came accross a couple of your videos now, you are doing great, i just have to say, MX5 Cup are stick shift, for realism sake you should use stick shift and clutch. That's the only thing that bugs me, i feel like its a unfair advantage to use sequential on stick shift, assuming everyone else is realistic about it, but they probably also use sequential lol. Good racing though, push harder

      I'm guessing 99.9% of racers will be on paddles unless they find some performance advantage to being on a shifter. When I get a more suitable rig I might look at getting set up with a shifter.

    Watched lots of your videos now the past few months really enjoy them tho on lots of corners your in to high a gear especially the slow corners i hope you don't think I'm having a go just trying to be helpful and I hope to get see u on track sometime

      @John74YT  7 месяцев назад +1

      Not at all, any constructive criticism or advice is very welcome here 👍🏻
      I do tend to use higher gears to give better control or reduce wheel spin or tyre wear. Sometimes it's just me being lazy 🤣

    John, do they allow auto-blip in these races? I noticed the practice servers do not allow it, which means you need to use a clutch when downshifting. I can't tell/hear in these LFM Mazda race videos if people are using a clutch for the downshifts. Are you using a clutch?

    • @John74YT
      @John74YT  7 месяцев назад

      Auto blip and auto clutch is allowed and is what I'm using. Also allowed in practice servers so might be worth checking your assists when going to join a server.

    Nice driving, but unlucky tho with thosse two spins. Can you name the setup please?

    • @John74YT
      @John74YT  3 месяца назад +1

      Thank you 👍🏻
      The car setup is just the default one which I fully lowered all round and max camber all round. Don't really get time to play with setups.

    Hi John, I recently have gotten into sim racing, and have been hopping on ac practicing every day, but I am still finding myself 8-10 seconds behind everyone else. I understand that I am new and therefore I am not expecting to be the best, but I have no idea where I am losing this time. Do you have any tips for how I can learn or practice, and maybe what I might be doing wrong? I love watching these videos and racing online like this is really what I want to get out of sim racing, these videos give me something to look forward to once I have developed my skills, thanks.

      Main thing I would say first is relax don't worry about lap time just enjoy driving the car. practice, practice, practice it's the best way to learn even if it's just 20 minutes a day. It all helps build muscle memory and will start to feel more natural. Most say practice on your own but I like to practice in a public lobbies so when faster drivers go by I can see the lines and braking points they use. Also I used to save replays and watch it back from the faster drivers view so see what they are doing. Something I'm still guilty of at times is not using all the track, leave a safe margin to the edge of the track and you make the corner tighter and slower for yourself. Dont be afraid of making mistakes. Just a few to be going on with 👍🏻

      To speed up the learning curve it might be useful to compare you telemetry data with a faster lap. Motec is a little bit tricky to use, so popometer might be the easier option. I think they recently do provide there analyse service for AC, too.

      Thanks both for the replies, I’ll definitely make sure to use the replay feature, and I’ll look into telemetry data. I’ll keep practicing!

      Can't remember without going on the PC but I aim for constant 27-28 once I done a few laps
