I played in a local band in Bradford called Tuxedo and was lucky enough to support Grand Slam at Bradford University. It was the gig of a lifetime for us and will never forget Phil saying "Well played Son" as I came off stage: A True hero of mine and sadly missed!

Thank you for saving this. Everyday I wonder what Phil would have done into the 90's, 2000's, and beyond. He was The Rocker, The Romeo, The Poet, The Hero, The Madman, The Fox, The Cowboy, always connecting with his Lonely Hearts. The best frontman in 70's & 80's Rock, he had it all in the palm of his hands until addiction slowly took it away.
His songs will be played and his work admired 100 years from now. Rest in Peace Roisin Dub

I'm glad He was creative AFTER Thin Lizzy. Maybe contracts wouldn't allow Him to call it Lizzy...but I agree with what I'm hearing in this last band. Why COULDNT He interest anyone in giving Him a new music contract? I think someone downplayed His GrandSlam effort as not new....bullshit!. I'm very happy He was Very Loved.
      Nice.

Nostell Priory (nr Wakefield, West Yorkshire) was a briefly lived festival. Reading had its planning permission revoked tgat year so a lot of the bands due to play there headed up the M1 to join this bill. It was pretty cheap to get in and was sponsored by Theakestones brewery

Artist with A capital letter! Perfect mastery of the stage, rocker par excellence, excellent lyricist, should have played in Live Aid, would be the revival of Thin Lizzy and his presentation to the new generations ... but his "friends" Midge Ure and Bob Geldoff left him out after probing Thin Lizzy. This destroyed him and shortened the path to his death. Very sad it...

      Zero talent.
      Zero class.
      Zero morality.
Very few know the real story why Thin Lizzy got blackballed from Live Aid
Ask Bob, he knows how it all went down.
With friends like Bob, Phil didn't need enemies.

There is BBC concert recording of Phil;s grand Slam which sounded better that this on original broadcast, but great to see this nonetheless Mark. I;ve subscribed!. Lawrence Archer seems a canny fella, his lass sells the T shirts, and Mike Riley the singer has a much better voice than BSR's Ricky.
