- There are some things in life that you just have to admit are cool. For most people, tanks are one of those things. Traditionally, tanks are thought of as slow rolling, lumbering beasts of military might, but the team who created the Ripsaw luxury supertank are working hard to change that perception. Join our host Jonathon Buckley as he checks out the epic Ripsaw tank, recently featured in The Fate Of The Furious.
Man I heard that engine and knew it was a duramax. Love that sound
Can I capture Poland with this?
Or stalin, or Go straight to Warsaw
Probably
Just get like three, it’ll make it faster
Yes, as long as you drive it in backwards, they will think you are leaving.
Arcorior those fuckers cant defend from a fucking fly so ye you would be able to capture
but does it have cupholders ??
and does it have rod holders?
But does it have babyseat capabilities?
Does it even have a 6 disk radio?
because each one is bespoke, yes, you can order it with cupholders
Dont forget heated mirrors, you gotta have that.
I need this for when the zombie apocalypse comes
Whats the Doug score?
PaHa Adventures 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Like 6
Legend
Can you daily drive it
😭
I have a few applications for this.
1. Max level mobility mechanic. This guy can be anywhere anytime to repair any heavier vehicles. It has a payload capable of bringing parts not only for itself but for its patient. Which brings me to...
2. Light armor medic/exfiltration craft. This thing is fast and “buttery smooth”. What better way to transport injured soldier and civilians out of harms way than a vehicle without obstacle.
3. Wilderness Fire suppression/rescue. This bad boy can carry 1 cubic meter of water, or just as many people in or out of harms way. Luckily flame insulation is light, balls of steel don’t melt and are limited to 3 or less per person.
4. Mountain rescue. This thing is like a snowcat from hell, id be more worried about getting run over than not being rescued. Bring out 4 of these and they could comb a mountain and surf an avalanche to find you in about 10 minutes.
Put a remote .50 on top and it would probably be good for hit & run.
Could be great as a scout car.
@@Reklemer3 Hit and run against what? Pedestrians?
@@sheikhspear8910 How about using an actual scout for scouting?
once Batman sees where his steering wheel went, you KNOW he's not coming to just take it back, he's coming for the entire vehicle
But does it have an AUX port?
I'm surprised you didn't ask the number of cup holders.
It's clearly from hell, so probably xlr
For Russian harbass😂

The Ripsaw is a developmental unmanned light tank designed and built by Howe & Howe Technologies for evaluation by the United States Army.[1]
The Howe brothers started the Ripsaw as a small family project in 2000. They introduced it at a Dallas vehicle show in 2001, where it caught the interest of the U.S. Army. Later that year the U.S. Military ordered a prototype MS-1 to be made and shipped to Iraq.[citation needed]
The Ripsaw is intended to perform various missions including convoy protection, perimeter defense, surveillance, rescue, border patrol, crowd control, and explosive ordnance disposal. For perimeter defense or crowd control, a belt of M5 Modular Crowd Control Munitions (MCCM) can be mounted around the vehicle to break up crowds or non-lethally engage personnel with flash-bang effects and rubber bullets. Cameras provide 360-degree coverage for situational awareness for the operator.[2][3]
The Army has tested the Ripsaw while remote-controlled by a soldier in another armored vehicle up to 1 km (0.62 mi) away. Its weapon system is modified to fire remotely using the Advanced Remote Armament System (ARAS), a gun that self-loads its own ammunition and can swap out various types of ammunition, such as lethal and non-lethal, in just a few seconds. These capabilities allow manned vehicles to send the Ripsaw out in front of them and engage targets without exposing soldiers to threats.[4] As of March 2017, the Army is still testing the vehicle as an unmanned platform to test remote weapons stations.[5]
Variants[edit]
Ripsaw UGV (non-militarized) prototype could accelerate to 65 mph in about 3.5 seconds, since it was lighter, but it wasn’t as strong/rugged.
Ripsaw MS1 tactical UGV utilizes a powerful oversized and customized 650-horsepower Duramax 6.6L V8 diesel engine that delivers 900 ft-lbs (~ 1,220 Nm) of torque.[6] The Ripsaw MS1 was a test platform made to test off-road capabilities. It was exclusively unmanned, cost $200,000 and could accelerate from 0-65 mph in 3 seconds.[2][3]
Ripsaw MS2 UGV is made to be larger, faster, and more modular than the MS1. It weighs 4.5 tons and can carry a one-ton payload. The lightweight tubular chassis design is powered by a 6.6 liter duramax diesel engine generating 600 hp and 1000 ft/lb of torque. Fully loaded, the MS2 can accelerate from 0-50 mph in 5.5 seconds and has a top speed of 60 mph. The vehicle can traverse 50 degree gradients and 45 degree slopes. It can be optionally manned or tele-operated from a nearby command vehicle. Armament can include an M240 machine gun or M2 .50-caliber machine gun, and it has been tested with the Javelin missile. If the Ripsaw is damaged or destroyed, parts can be "cannibalized" in the field and re-assembled quickly. An MS2 vehicle costs $750,000.[2][3]
Ripsaw MS3 UGV is being tested by RDECOM under the Remote Armed Maneuver Platform (RAMP) initiative to integrate the M153 CROWS remote weapon system onto an unmanned vehicle.[7] RAMP was demonstrated at Fort Benning, Georgia in October 2013 as part of the Army's Armed Unmanned Ground Vehicle (AUGV) program.[8]
Ripsaw EV2 is a luxury version, with a fully enclosed body and two seats inside the cab. It can exceed speeds of over 60 mph and has a range of approximately 300 miles. It is currently unknown if the EV2 can mount remotely-operated weapon systems or not. This model is designed for the civilian market but still costs $295,000 with customisable features.[9]
eksine it's still a tracked vehicle no amount of cut and paste articles will change that, it's innovative and awesome for what it is but it is not a tank. Look up the Christie light tank, which was capable of 100 mph off road, and that was in the 1930s,using a 100 hp gas engine
eksine its not a tank
All of you are idiots, it has a Military Unmanned Variants that carries .50 cal
Obeese Geese it's a toy
D.U.N.E so any tank with a fixed turret (yes, there are fixed turret tanks) isn't a tank from your description?
This tank can be used as a arrowtip for a infantry attack or to transport injured soldiers from the frontlines
This is an engineering masterpiece. Give this some active armor and a gau gatling. A great first strike vehichle.
The H1 was amazing too, until it was overburdened with armor....
Are you sure this isn't a tank? I don't think the first 128 comments that said that have made it clear. I think we need at least 115 more saying the exact same thing.
stinkydoggy98 it's not a tank #129
Definitely not a tank #131 (I made two other comments classifying).
Yes....I think I am shure this is a tan....NO IT'S AN ARMORED VEHICLE LOL
Woah I was shocked a bit when he said waterboro Maine. That's 20 mins from my house lmao
That looks like a ton of fun. Wow to have the income to afford one must be a nice life. Hard work has its rewards.
Optional package includes a glove box, a foot rest, marine gps provision for 4 for a month, and 50cal auto mounted on hood with kick down "jeep" window.
Roadrage with me on that!
Great stuff :)
3:10 now THIS is podracing!
"I'll try spinning, that's a good trick!"
The ev3 is even more luxurious!
evanic _14
does THAT one come with cup holders??
Now all we need is some armor and flak 8.8
r/shittytechnicals I guess
I’d love to own a ripsaw
The best tank I've seen ,I want a fleet.
It's cool how you can see the suspension
To improve the belt tension you could also have a spring tensioner in the middle of the top portion of the track
Zackary Whisner I’m actually surprised that they don’t
That looks like so much fun!!
Weird. I was just wondering whatever became of ripsaw and boom! Here it is in my feed.
Get out of my head!!
Lets say someone manages to roll it over into water. Completely upside down with water coming into the cockpit. How do you get out if the doors are pinned shut? Its an unlikely scenario but one that can absolutely happen. Im just curious what the escape plan would be.
Wish these guys were my brothers.....Iol, love their way of thinking ,anything with tracks is so interesting freaking love the Rip saw ,id be happy with one with a twin diesel.......
Impressive. I have no data on it, but the tracks seem able to take some beating. Also the suspension seems a well thought out thing. Really amazing, depending on unknown factors (reliability and ease/cost of repair).
The owner seems to trust the machine, that's a good sign.
They need to let Travis Pastrana and the nitro circus crew distance jump this thing, or see how it does in the desert like the baja 1000.
Remind me of "Rock n' Roll" racing game on my Super Nintendo
This is my dream vehicle wich I will love so much to see participate in the dakar race.
Didn't see a cup holder LOL used to watch these guys on discovery but they stopped showing the program love the ripsaw
Those guys have a cool job
I'd love one of these
street legal in the US?
Ckc dillpickle no
To wide maybe?
IkusaTakuma it depends on the state.
Well probably in Texas, demolition ranch built his own car and got it road legal soooo...
Harry 8642 Matt is a savage though
This thing is kickass
now make it a commodity that is easy to buy
Base price for Rip Saw is $250,000. Rip Tide the amphibious version starts around $300,000
The suspension reminds me a lot of Christie suspension on the BT-2 with a lot more movement space allowed
Seems like it wouldn't be very difficult to make it steer like a car with the proper programming. And have a force feedback steering wheel so you can feel the terrain.
I want to make my own tank tbh. Good video tho.
>look at suspension
>Christie type with long travel
>immediately imagine BT-7, T-34 and Cromwell with Ripsaw-style suspension
How much would it cost to build something like this? If so can custom to put in for a order ?
Put the Electric Motors on this thing 🔥⚡🤯❤️
I miss this show (Howe and Howe tech)
What compares to tracks are Ground Effect Vehicles look it up.
Wonderful vehicle and platform. Must have some military application
Special forces and medical aid maybe. There are countless applications for it around farm or building, perimeter protection.
Pizza Delivery Vehicle in Philadelphia... 🙁
They put the right engine in it That's for sure
Always say Why Not. Because it could lead to great things like this being built.
I wanna see Ripsaw tear up Baha 1000
JGREEZY-PIPE'NPOPOP it doesn't stand a chance against a trophy truck
Yeah I'm pretty sure there's rocks big enough to knock the tracks off, it would be the ultimate test, I still want to see it ;)
That would be awesome to see, it's not that fast I doubt it will win just due to it's top speed is compared to normal vehicles that run the Baja but I would still love to see it nonetheless
Theprfesssor its top speed is 120 mph isnt it ? But on all terrain will destroy any jeep or truck lol
@@StoneCoolds
From what I have seen Ripsaws top speed is 65-70 mph, which is really good for a tracked vehicle but the normal Baja trucks can go up to 100-120mph, it's standard range is also a problem 300 miles but they could extend that
Does it come with bumper-to-bumper warranty?
Puts me in mind of a panzer 1 idk why 😅
where on grate mother earth can i get one of these
More of a tankette not really a tank.
Very true. It needs a *TURRET with a GUN to be a TANK.*
How well will it withstand a *direct RPG HIT??*
@@howardfortyfive9676 The answer is it not at all because this thing barely has anything that can be called armour, let alone actual ERA tiles. Basically it's just a worse Wiesel, or a ghetto IFV, if you will.
What kind of longevity does the track have? Is it time limited or a simple replace if wear is indicated only. Then, what is the track replacement procedure?
For that price I'll buy a used T72
Way harder to get a T-72 then this XD Also if you had only want it for fun then this thing is definitely better.
@@Tankliker , m.exarmyvehicles.com/offer/tracked-vehicles/tanks/main-battle-tank-t-72-m
Bought it
@@komradekat3557 Upload a video of you driving it.
an actual tank instead of a tracked golf cart
Maintenance cost?
These people need to build these for the military. Add a little more room and armor and a huge ass gun and 2 turrets and you’ve got your self one lethal tank.
Don’t you have one with a howitzer or cannon; do you perhaps have a laser armed one?
I can put tracks on my ATV, does that make it a tank too?
it needs more than that
It's like an RC.
Mark my words... I will buy one. May take a few years, but this thing to too good to not be in my life.
Are you alive
The duramax sounds amazing
How much fun is that ? Im guessing a 10°
I miss howe an howe tech
need this....it must be cheaper if i buy 100cc engine version right?
You'll float too!!
Crossout is fucking real with the upcoming Dawn's Children update.
Hi, how are you, what is the steering mechanism?
I have 1 question, what is minimal height of driver to drive this beauty.
@Grinch McGillicutty 6' gang
Hmm... can you make a forest fire fast attack track? a point the track and blast nozzle with 500 gallons of water and a Crew Survival system like on the new Aussie brush trucks?
Do you have a BEV in the works? Just think of all that power in stealth!
Is it amphibious? Does it float?
Can you see the local cop trying to pull you over rofl...hard right baby and off through the swamp we go hahahahahaaa
They need to build a scale Fast Traxx!
I miss his TV show
They need to add a compass/gyro and a PID controller to make the turns feel the same at any speed...
A snowmobile is a tracked vehicle and I guarantee this isn't faster then some of them.
Where did these guys go and whats that thing like as an EV?
COLEY FOLEY SAYS: THAT'S "VERY INTERESTING, MR. BOND"... HAHAHA!
How does this compare to the sherp in terms of off road capabilities?
damn these brothers have a dope as job.
Yo does it come with a CD player?
I need one of these and a Sherp.
It looks a little like the old Cobra tanks from GI Joe in the 80's
Cory Glenn It was used in the Film G I Joe with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. That's how it also ended up in Fast 7
I'd buy one
Put the sherp down a notch & that's hard to do..! A beast!!!..
I think the ripsaw was in a movie a few years ago
Howe an Howe looks like Wayne industries lol
We should've asked where Lucius Fox's office was
Dumb question...
But how about 2 levers for each hand?
It needs a turret
I most likely would destroy the front end on trees as it's a bit big for a lot of off road trails.
if you put 4 heavy duty wheels on this with a manually operated minigun on the back it could make a decent warthog
A dirt bike is a wheeled vehicle in technical terms, and it would beat that tanks ass in those trails.
Awesome
I wonder what the towing cap is .
If u put a plate on it is it legal
The Russian Sherp may be slower but it will go in more off road places including lakes, rivers.
does those tank can be drive in the city or town? or in canada? =P
Wow..... What name the car??
