Babe wake up it’s bootleg christmas
I'm here for Javon Baker propaganda.
I'm here to hear the Ladd M hype train comp to Kupp, Puka and Elderman etc ..
@@silence3916 Elderman? Who dat?
@@googlechicken my bad Edelman
@@silence3916ricky pearsall is a lot like cooper kupp
His interview on Steve Smith's pod was great, on top of the talent he's a solid dude
Verse episode was a banger, pool scene was amazing
YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME.
I was on the train today heading for work, listening to podcasts and I was like "with all the draft content, I wonder when EJ and Brett get to the gems episodes, those are always awesome". And now here it is. I'm pumped, let's jump right in!
Legette is the wideout I've fallen in love with this draft season. I've still desperately trying to fool myself into the belief he'll be there at 34.
Not getting past the panthers honestly
@@pcxPOT Or the lions. If we go receiver at 29 (due to sutton’s release it’ll probably be kool-aid or another corner), I’d bet money it’s Legette.
Plus, the Panthers need separation, so if Ladd is around there, he has to be the guy. They already have Thielen for size.
You mean like end of the 3rd round?
thielen is getting up there in age tho, plus mingo is more of a slot receiver honestly. i want a big bodied receiver opposite of johnson.@@minkeymouce
Highly unlikely he goes in Round 1. Too many other good WRs in this class. He should be there at 34 for sure
Can you guys do an episode about guys you missed on last year and maybe, whether they were way better than expected or way worse, dive into why?
They would definitely consider way better than they expected but they don't like to do any criticism or negative stuff really
Would love this
Anybody stand out to you about their misses?
It’s also not wise to do misses only a year later, prime usually wait a few years to see if they pan out
@sjc7642 funny they are already taking credit for calling tyree wilson for the raiders being a miss. He was hurt as well. Admittedly didn't play well once he got reps but they are sure running with it.
When you said someone has Maye as QB6 and he knows who he is, I wasn't aware of that ranking. At first I was like "who in the hell would..." and then it dawned on me. Looked it up, and of course it was Chris Simms. It's always Chris Simms. That gremlin.
I had the exact same thing happen to me. When they said "He knows who he is" I thought "oh, I know who he is too."
Not to be a contrarian or anything but Chris Simms is usually pretty good at assessing QB talent. He was really high on Mahomes, had Lamar and Allen as top 2 in 2018, Love above Tua, Stroud over Young, etc. not saying he’s 100%, but still pretty good most of the time.
I love Sims opinions personally shakes it up a bit & gives reason why at least.
Simms is a better Qb analysts than most
Chris simms is a better QB analyst than most
7:47 HE WAS! Mini Kollmann curse? Either way, I'm stoked!
Rome Odunze: WR
*_W A S I N G T O N_*
Hey, if that's the biggest mistake we make this time of year... we're doing GREAT.
@@ejsnyder5734agreed!
Hell yeah! My favorite episodes every year!!! Thanks guys!
Quinton Mitchell is the only player in this draft that has left absolutely ZERO questions about his game. He is the #1 player in this draft, but he’ll go in the teens. THAT is a gem.💎
Quinyon? Def legit you could be 100% right, check back in 15 years.
He's no Newton or Brock Bowers or the top 3 wrs or Joe Alt or Fantanu or Williams but he's real good
@@vsauce4678 love Johnny, there are questions about his size and ability as a run defender.
Bowers has questions about his size and run blocking.
Alt is one of the 3 players I have ranked above him, but the NFL does have questions about how top heavy he is, though that’s a real big nitpick.
Harrison is another I have above him, but even he has questions about his ability to create YAC.
Odunze has questions about his ability to work out of the slot and on short met routes.
And Nabers is considered to be a slot receiver with questions on routes for a true “X”.
Fantanu lacks length, punch, and sometimes oversets.
Williams is the last guy I have above him but he has questions about his ability to compete with top level competition considering his big college losses, and how he will adjust to an NFL style system with how much he plays out of structure.
Quinyon has essentially no questions about his ability. Maaaaaybe that he might sometimes commit his hips to early so he might be vulnerable to double moves? But it doesn’t really show on tape.
I have him ranked 4th in the class. Only corner to come out recently I had rated as high as him was Sauce. He’s a preposterous project being down ranked because of his school.
I love all the guys you mentioned, them, Mitchell, and Daniels literally are my top 10.
Hey! I wasn't done with the Verse episode yet!
Right?
Embarrassment of riches - good problem to have.
It was only eight minutes!!
Maybe I should rename my meme folder to Offensive Gems
Thank you for the content boys. Love it😳
3 of the 10 “gems” are going to be top 10 picks. Doesn’t feel like this episode hit it’s full potential when focusing on guys a lot of us already know about
Doing a follow up gems video half way through the season to see how these players are adjusting, being used, if they’re traits translated to the NFL, etc would be sick!
Odunze is a great choice he does the little nuances like not tipping the defender when the ball is coming. He waits till the last possible second to extend for a jump ball when the corner has his back to the QB. He is going to be great
Jalen Coker better than him
@@Jamar-lg9ob I actually like Coker he balled out at HC but he is not remotely as good as Rome
@@googlechicken better release package better route runner better catch radius better hands better production how he not? What can keon do better?
@@Jamar-lg9ob I thought we were talking about Rome Odunze? But either way Coleman is better as well but it’s closer
@@googlechicken meant to put odunze
You have to get Chris Simms on the show.
Brock Bowers is like a mix of (don't kill me) Aaron Hernandez and Juszczyk
good comp tbh
Bingo! Don’t be afraid to make that comp. Hernandez was a problem for defenses . It’s a shame he was a piece of shit because he was a damn good football player
For Benson I think a good physical comp is Matt Forte. A big back with good long speed and good feet.
Since you guys were at the shrine bowl, you should’ve heard that four of the defensive lineman chose the offensive tackle from Texas, Christian Jones as the toughest tackled, they faced all year. I believe he is this year‘s juice Scruggs. He’s massive come along arms and quick feet dominated at the senior bowl enough.
Thank you for releasing in perfect time for lunch.
We aim to please.
Does Brett think that Travis Kelce is a generational tight end? If he does, then Brock Bowers is a generational prospect. They are the same kind of player, except Brock can ALSO do the h-back stuff.
And he's not as big but yeah same role there with the added versatility
Malik Washington’s a beast sleeper. Legette is the most underrated of the top wideouts, though. Legette is my WR5 after Thomas Jr. at 4.
Legette is a monster
Think all the videos about Legette’s accent have raised his stock at least 6 picks
You meant ascent, right? Or does he speak funky?😅😂🎉❤
@@gregginter5867southern
To follow up on Christian Jones, two of the guys that played at the shrine bowl from the University of Washington, who said he was the toughest tackle they faced. That means he was tougher to them than the Arizona tackle and the Oregon state tackle.
Bootleggin the dtaft BABY!
Draft time is really the best time for us Bears fans. All hype no disappointment. I hope the Bears trade back and take Legette if Odunze, Nabers, and Alt aren’t available. Been saying this for months now!
Caleb at 1?
@@CaptCKernel not even a question for me
@@CaptCKernel...GB fan here...Caleb will be a diva-fest! Even USC players didn't like'm! Why? It's all me, me, me...w/over-hyped Caleb! He won't be #1 QB at end of yr...just like last yr's savior fr Alabama! Total dud. Welcome to more circus-time, Bears! Ty for trading a generational player for R6 pic...lmao! Wow. Your biggest problem for 20+ yrs has been pathetic coaching n upper management! 😅😂🎉❤❤❤
@@gregginter5867 what're you smoking and where can I get some?
@@gregginter5867name one player, who doesn't like him... I'll wait... everything I have heard from teammates has been extremely positive. 20$ you are just threatened by the college kid that paints his nails
Was waiting for Malik Washington lol finally more people are talking about him.
One of my favorite player in this draft. He is not supposed to be able to do what he does on the field at 5’8” he has some Steve Smith in him. He is a dog
EJ be like: “I don’t like to pick chalk”
Meanwhile EJ’s picks: *literally almost as chalky as you can get*
FINALLY i hear someone talking about xavier leggette I've been loving him as a prospect since draft season started. And then i watched him slip further and further down the draft board and i was so confused. I'm desperately hoping he's around for the falcons pick 8 in r2.
Love the tradition! Plus I’d love a what would you do mock draft
Malik Washington with tua throwing him the ball is just scary as hell for a guy taken so late in the draft
Man i so in love with south Dakota State combo of the Guard and tackle Greenfield, like im banging the table for the ravens to take this combo in the Nfl draft. Love these two. Mason is definitely a 💎 for the interior o line. I want so badly for them to block for Lamar Jackson
sorry mom I can't make it to dinner there's bootleg 10 gems
For a Trey Benson comp, i kinda see Leonard Fornnette at LSU. Fornnette looked stronger and sought more contact but they feel similar to me. Especially into the second level of the defense running through contact.
10 gems season...
❤
Xavier legette sounds like a lion to me
Malik Washington Gang is UP!
I’m way too concerned that Legette’s profile is eerily similar and 99% comparable to Jonathan Mingo
much better player in my opinion, but I understand the hesitancy
- Brett
And so my 2024 fantasy football season begins…. Got my coffee and a notepad. Bring it on.
Theres a chance that my Bears get Caleb Williams AND Rome Odunze, thats just wild to me. A WR trio of Keenan Allen, DJ Moore, and Rome Odunze. Wow. I really like Rome Odunze, seems really smart from interviews and such. There are a few WRs that would make our WR room absolutely crazy.
Yesterday was a fun day for you lol
@@WifeLeftMe83 we havent gotten many in a long time lol you shouldve heard all of the Bears fans in watch parties man. We are pumped.
A comp I heard for Odunze was bigger and stronger Olave. I kinda like that one.
IT'S HERE BABY
Checkout Beaux Limmer OL from Arkansas, he manhandled DL in the Senior Bowl. Has an amazing first step off the snap and can pivot and adjust to different moves from DL.
Mason Mccormick to Detroit would be awesome
New fan here. Definitely love your boards! Chiefs fan and I think your second round choice was a home run. Versatile 4-3 just how we like it. Mike Dana is a free agent and Charles Omenihu is injured to start the season. It’s important to get a versatile DE just in case Jones kicks outside.
How do yall feel about Nabers? I understand the Rome Odunze hype and it made me curious about your take on Nabers.
Love the nfl blitz shirt lmao
Watching Benson and hearing your breakdown of his skills kinda reminds me of Nick Chubb a bit. Maybe Chubb wasn’t as athletic as Benson, but that feel for running plus the ability to dictate in different ways reminds me of Chubb
Chubb is a bit more solid but yeah, a good comp might be Chubb or Jonathan Taylor.
If you want to see a Bad Drake Maye game, go watch the Minnesota game. It's one thing to look bad vs Clemson; Minnesota was a decent defense for college but nobody's definition of elite. That's the one where I really don't see an NFL ready guy especially comparison relative to JJ McCarthy who played against the same defense.
Wait every year for this episode- and the defensive version.
Do you think Fautanu has the positionsl flexibility to play RT? Asking as a steelers fan lol
I'm pretty sure he could
IMO, Brock Bowers is like Dallas Clark. He can be played in any formation; he can line up at almost any spot in those formations, and he can do a lot of different things from all of those alignments.
The Colts were almost exclusively in 11 or 12 Personnel during Clark's era, but he allowed them to do so many different things from within those Personnel groupings. Were they playing it like 11 or 12 when they were in 12 personnel? Were they running the ball with 2 TEs? Or were they spreading it out with 3 WRs? Were they playing it like 11 or 10 when they were in 11 personnel? Were they running the ball with 1 TE? Or were they spreading you out with 4 Wide? It made it difficult for DCs to get the right personnel on the field. Unless you had hybrid defenders, you'd always be wrong.
IMO, Bowers could be the same type of player if he goes to the right offense. I'd love to see him play somewhere that's going to move him all over the place and utilize him as a matchup weapon in the pass game. I really don't want to see him play in the Shanahan offense. I know Kyle is good at using weapons like Bowers, but most other coaches that run that system don't get a lot out of these types of weapons.
How is Malik Washington's size held against him but not against Zay Flowers? Bewildering.
Demarco Murray comp for Trey Benson. Both ran sub 4.4 around 215 lbs
Gentlemen of fandom, we meet again
43:46 Nick Chubb might be my comp. Both had some knee injurys but are well built north/south runners. Watch Trey Bensons highlights then watch chubbs rookie season highlights. Super similar movement
I think the way you broke down Bowers was spot on. However, I do think that does hurt his draft ability.
At the end of the day he is a big slot. Tight ends that can do it all get drafted in the top 10. Bowers is not that guy. He is still a bonafide 1st round pick, but it would be hard to justify him in the top 10. The Chargers would not take him past on their scheme for example.
I think his career output will be closer to Zach Ertz than Travis Kelce
I’ve been wishing Legette to the Pats at 34 and there is no lock that he will still be there
I don't watch college ball, so the names don't mean anything to me until they hit the draft, but now that it has happened, I'm going back to see who was picked by my favorite team (Steelers), and some other notable players for their landing spots. It's interesting to me to see how some things unfolded.
Love EJs take on Brock Bowers
Welp, that Shanahan/Guerendo bit aged well
Adrian Peterson.
The only running back I can think of who was 6'1" 220lbs and ran a 4.4 was Adrian Peterson. So, that's good company to be in if you're Trey Benson.
Tbh I worry that Brock Bowers may have issues separating in the NFL. Chris Simms is the one who came out with Drake Maye at 6 lol but I can only see Caleb really having any reason for anyone to put him above Maye. Tbh I think all the Qbs from 2-6 have different strengths and weaknesses and even tho I think Daniels wud be considered the better prospect but Maye has traits comparable to Justin Herbert.
Rome reminds me of a cross between Justin Jefferson and Keenan Allen. Maybe a little more pace.
Ok, we get it! Move on fr Legette...NEXT!!😊
The chargers could replace mike and keenans skills with odunze 🤯
Good pts re Rome...how many great NFL players weren't the best at anything except on game day!
This is Xmas im kinda new McCormic sounds like a gem 4 real
Javon Baker YES. Would be a top 8 WR in most other classes imo
Need the packers to grab marshawn lloyd, Bucky Irving, or Blake corrum. Those dudes are different
If McCormick is there at 55 for miami and they don't take him I don't know what I would do
So hear me out... Amarius Mims at 30 and Mason McCormick at 62 for Baltimore. Ronnie gets 1 more year at LT, Andrew Vorhees and Ben Cleveland battle for LG, Linderbaum at C, and then McCormick and Mims fill out the right side. Next, world domination
As long as we can get Clowney or Van Noy back and another receiver, I'd like that
Mims is absolutely not going to be there at 30.
MIMS AT 30 ? Lol Top 16 for sure.
For those saying Mims won’t be there at 30, trust me I think he’s a Top 20 player easily, but players fall unexpectedly all the time, and usually the Ravens will sit back and take them.
37:31 My RB1 For sure!!!
Odunzune is beast Really hope he makes it to 10 .
His tape is a day 3 pick but his physical talent is phenomenal. I say it is a reach.
Let’s see how it progress though with NFL coaching and him sitting behind a stud in Armstread to learn real pass rush move.
colts fans, let us join hands and start the brock bowers to indy prayer circle
Y'know, I wasn't on board before, but I get it now. Still wouldn't be upset about Quinyon Mitchell or Cooper DeJean across from Dallas Flowers, either.
Love seeing a South Dakota state guy getting his flowers
He's earned them. Mason is legit.
A Micheal Turner comp in the year on our lord 2024. I loved him for ATL after Dunn retired
Two Lions notes based on your gems. The Legette story is all adversity and Detroit LOVES dudes that have a story and have overcome it. Also, I know you brought up McCormick to Detroit as a possibility and I absolutely see it. You kind of waffled about them needing one, but no Jonah Jackson at left guard and with the retirement rumors about Ragnow this offseason there is absolutely a need for a guy who could play guard now and possibly center later.
Detroit n adversity...😅😂...like ice n water, milk n chocolate sauce... y'all were correct...Detroit relates to adversity...hell, look at your city! A train-wreck! Economy? Train-wreck! Municipal services? Train-wreck! Sports teams? 20yr hx of train-wrecks! Y'all are Cleveland, SF, DC rolled into one! Wowowow!😮😅😂🎉❤
Just because the city has been through it doesn’t give you the right to act like a clown on the internet.
The Drake Maye criticism I’ve heard from both Simms & Orlovsky independently was to do with his throwing mechanics, primarily his footwork.
They both seem to think he can’t play his rookie season & needs to just focus on re-building his footwork & mechanics from the ground up.
They both seem to believe this was the main reason for his inconsistency?
Simms specifically said he locks out his front leg, which he didn’t understand why or how he functions doing that?
This is the criticism.
Have you really not heard this?
Yeah all that criticism is true. But he has a lot of great traits still and he's young. So someone is going to convince themselves on his potential.
I have wanted legette to the bills for a month drafted him on madden before i knew who he was i saw 6’1 220 and 4.3 speed and said yes please lol. Looked up his tape and loved everything i saw. No one is really talking about him so i appreciate the backstory and player breakdown. He is going to make some team better thats for sure.
AJ Brown's twin imo
My guys not mentioned: Blake Fischer OT ND very smart with great technique and good size, Beaux Limmer C Arkansas not big and imposing but perfect hand placement great lateral mover with a nastiness, I agree with legette as you said Ik I said not mentioned but I just need to put it out there how slept on he is, and I can’t stress how much I like RB Ray Davis Kentucky I think he looked like the best player on the field against Georgia so that says a lot
The Giants have to draft Mason Mccormik in the 2nd round
RB Trey Benson reminds me of former Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte
I demand MORE BOOTLEG! Brett, EJ, you reading this??? MORE BOOTLEG! 8>D By the way, that means these players are the Ferris Bueller's Day Off of draft prospects.
PS- Bowers is a Ben Johnson type of weapon if he falls a ways. Just sayin'.
I wonder if McCormick is being looked at by Philly? They’ve got the 2 second round picks and then you can have him and jurgens as 2 G/C options to cover the loss of kelce
I think Benson would be a great add for us. We’re lacking true breakaway speed. There a few in this draft I like.
Who is "us".?
@@poppynlilys_dad774 I don’t know. Maybe my name is a clue?
Heads up - i got notifications on and didnt receive one. Hope YT aint doing yinz dirty lol
Thanks for the heads up - we'll take a look.
I’d kill to have Legette in Baltimore.
YEEEAAHHHH!!
Great show, but most teams had a back over 15 touches, and 12 backs were over 18 per game. So the whole “you’re getting 10 per game” thing is a bit overstated these days. Still point taken, a rookie back, even as a starter, is likely to be closer to 15 than 20.
Bowers is my dream pick for my Titans! Ppl call me crazy, but idc , i just want him on my team...
Ah, the Drake Maye kiss of death is here
DIAMOOOOOOONDS
The saquon disrespect
Who is he that did it for that with the putting of Maye at QB 6!?
I like Lagette to KC and one of the things I noticed that made me think he would definitely work there is he has a very similar profile to what Rice had coming out, won contested catches well, same height, similar route running, the only difference that stood out is that he is 20 lbs heavier and ran a 4.33 not a 4.47 even if at 1st he is the gadget/screen/deep guy that works great with our other weapons Andy can even put him in the backfield like he liked to do with Rice and Toney and he is actually built like a RB
Also while watching him play he looked like a guy with 4.33 speed other guys I watched with great just didn't look like they played that explosive and fast like the opposite of Keon Coleman who looked like he played wayy faster than his 4.56 speed
Legette isn't a thing like Rice, for one he's a way better player. If the Chiefs manage to get him he'll be their best WR instantly. The clear and obvious comp when you watch his film is AJ Brown, he is basically the spitting image of the guy.
@PlaySA looking back no, all I'm saying is there are similarities such as height and how they got production in college. I think people forget at SMU Rice was a contested catch guy and people weren't sure if he could get open running underneath routes or that he just caught jump balls and Legette is doing a lot of the same be it better and at a higher level. I was using that to say he would be a good fit, he should be better like you are saying though as he is 20 lbs heavier and faster. I don't think Aj Brown is a perfect comp either besides size/speed they are different types Aj has always used his strength to bully and box out corners and I haven't seen Legette play that way much yet
My comp for Benson is Marcus Allen but too big a name he is tall like MA I am a raider fan and saw the gohst in first 5 seconds
