Cowboys over eagles this year is laughable
Thank you, the fact the eagles aren't on this list and they are makes the entire thing laughable.
Word! One bad collapse and we are in freefall.. meanwhile dallas collapses every single year and people still believe in that fairytale
Well... based on when last we saw them, they don't deserve to be on this list, even if I do think they're better than Dallas. After that meltdown in the second half of the season, we have to see a clear recovery.

Great list. My only differences were I had the Eagles at 8, Lions at 6, and the Bengals at 4. Only because Baltimore picked up Henry, and Joe Burrow is coming back from injury.

The offseason losses are bigger names on paper than what they actually contributed last season. Buffalo will be right in the thick of the race to win a 5th straight East title.

He’s done, you can see it. If you have watched the game of football for any length of time you can tell when a player has lost it. He only did good in Houston that one year because they had a favorable schedule and a lot of his great plays were in garbage time. What has he ever done? Did he win a playoff game like CJ Stroud did in his rookie season? Watson said he would NOT play in Cleveland and then magically they offer him the farm and he took them for a ride. I’ll say it, he sucks!!!

The Eagles were terrible the second half of the season. Definitely not top 10 to START the season.
If the back half of the Steelers schedule wasnt so scary rough, I'd put them somewhere in this. Stout Defense, massive improvements to the line, solid running backs, and upgraded QB position. Also 5-1 last year vs AFC North. Don't sleep on them.

I'd still put them in this list. They went 10-7 last year with historically bad QB play for all, but 3 regular season games.

Rams are gonna surprise ppl this year. , offense: Stafford, Kupp, Puka, Kyren, Corum, improved oline.
Defense: Kobie turner, Byron young, 1st rd Verse, 2nd Rd Fiske, Ernest Jones, and completely replaced the secondary
Even with the loss of AD, the Rams on paper look like a contender.

Unless they’re playing Cincinnati. The fact that he didn’t put Cincy on the with Burrow being healthy and way better offensive line and the defense being just as good as they were on their Super Bowl run is proof that Rich is a hack and always will be.

@@CodyMcCool why wouldn’t he? He’s not injury prone, football players get hurt, it’s a rough game. I never hear anybody say; if Lamar stays healthy. Just about every QB gets hurt, even Patty Cakes. He’s healthy now, and he will stay healthy. Last year was a fluke and his first year injury was because he had the worse offensive line in football.
@FlixMaker64 he's played 4 seasons and has had 9 injuries that has made him miss like 14 games in 4 seasons. Mahomes has missed 2 games in 6 years and that was dislocated knee. And to your point, lamar had missed 10 games in a 2 season span due to injury, so yes, I think he is injury prone. Gtfoh.

When this rating came out I said the 49ers was a good pick 'unless Brock gets hurt.' which is both true and at least somewhat likely (more likely than Patty), but even with their stacked roster that would be it. Part of why the commenters that 5 of these 10 miss the playoffs isn't far off. But I'd say I'd keep 8 of these 10 in my personal top 10 right now.
Fun Fact: Aaron Rodgers is the only QB in NFL history to go 15-1 in the regular season and not win a playoff game.
I believe Vikings are the only team with a top 10 winning percentage and zero super bowls 😂
The offensive coordinator at the time, lost his son just days prior to their 1st game in the playoffs that year. I suspect the entire Packer organization was not focused as a result.
It's quite hard to win when your defense gives up 323 rushing yards and 4 rushing TDs. Packers had the ball for 22min compared to the 49ers 38 min. That game was brutal for the Packers offense.

@@aaronjones8653 I could buy that actually, 100%. Burrow hasn't been consistently healthy and the Eagles ended last season on a 1-6 stretch. Hurts was mediocre all year, 19th in ANY/A and had the 6th highest INT%, only ahead of studs like Ridder, Mac Jones, Jake Browning, Sam Howell, and the new school Favre aka Josh Allen. Plus Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox retired.
I’m a 49ers fan but Eagles need to be on this list and definitely ahead of the Cowboys.

@@TheBd0g Less uncertainty about pending contract renewals; better draft picks; timely and meaningful acquisitions, etc. I think last year's Eagles' collapse was an anomaly, not like the Cowboys' collapse which seems to be part of the team's DNA over the last few years.

@@crustybs46 I am not sure how your team improves, when they lost some leaders in the locker room etc. White, Poyer, Morse, Ford, Floyd, Jackson, Diggs, Davis etc. Last year they were 11-6. That was either tied or worse than 8 teams. Placing them outside a top 10 isn't unrealistic when other teams improved significantly while the Bills at best - stayed flat.

I'm not sure. I'm also not sure about the Ravens either and I like them. The Steelers are looking formidable. The Texans could be a problem. The Browns are there for a couple of upsets. Making this division yet again, the toughest in the NFL.
Burrow has all of the durability of Tua or JimmyG so far, he has to prove he can play more than 10 consecutive games once every few seasons before they end up at the top of an offseason ranking.

@@isaacsteiner6582 In early power rankings it always makes sense to put the defending champs #1, especially if they didn't lost their key players. It's not like the Vegas odds that take into account the schedule and conference (49ers have better odds to win the Super Bowl because Vegas thinks their path to get their is easier than the Chiefs).
It's ridiculous at this point. Obviously, any team in the AFC has to go through KC as the status quo....Niners have revamped their D line, changes on Oline. Lost secondary starters....Just as many questions as any other front runner....

Most of the 49ers changes are on the defensive line. Armsted, Gregory, Kinlaw, and the underappreciated Ferrell (his injury really hurt their defense towards the end of the season) all left

@@Montego_37 It's not about hating, it's about reality. Every QB who starts hot in their rookie season has a sophomore slump. It's the nature of the business. Every DC now has a full year of film on them and knows how good they are. He'll come around, but next year should be tougher. If you say otherwise, I would argue that you have homer-hope. And that's not to say you are for sure wrong, cause there's always outliers, we are just stating statistics & averages.
@@Montego_37 For me, it's the schedule and the division actually. I'm a Ravens fan and your Texans are great. However, all of these teams can compete and defeat almost any team in NFL. The problem is they play and beat up each other, while softer divisions like Mahomes' and Allen's get to stack wins. Injuries are unfortunately what will decide who makes the playoffs this year.
Cowboys at 9? I’ll definitely take it. Rich has got more optimism than I do, and I kind of like it.

@@aaronclay4665 you beat Burrow in Week 1 when he shouldn’t have even been playing and then you lost to Jake Browning. Hang that on your fridge. Going 11-6 was a good year for Cleveland, no doubt. I expect them to be a playoff team again. But Cincy has proven to be better than “just a playoff team” with a healthy Burrow and has been the only team to defeat the incumbent champs in that setting.
Until either the Browns or Jets reach that level, I’ll ride with Cincy with a 4th place schedule.

Wouldn't care much if - 2 and 3 would swap around, 5 and 6 swap, 8 though 10 move around or are replaced with teams like Falcons, Chargers, Buccaneers. Chiefs have issues but need to be 1 being back to back SB champs. This list isn't perfect, but feels much more realistic and less ludacris than Eisens.
Any list without the Bengals is not a serious list

Rich, dude we've been here before. Thought you learned your lesson LONG AGO, you admitted as much, for doubting Chiefs Kingdom as No1. Forget all the "all-field" stuff which wasn't earth shattering, if anything they've markedly improved from last year. When you consider upgrading WRs with crazy speed alone, if they improve the drops by just 50%, that will be a big impact. Sneed was great, but there could be a surprise or 2 in the backfield. Come on Rich, you know better.

Insane list, though I agree with the #1 ranking. But, no Eagles?! And, I’m not even a Philadelphia fan. I’m glad the Falcons aren’t on the list - they do better as underdogs and they may surprise everyone this year.
We should all try to find something to love as much as Rich loves his Jets. The schedule is not as brutal as it was in 2023 but I can't seen any more than 9 wins, and that is if Rodgers stays on his feet
