Thank you, Nason for this interview with Alex. And thank you, Alex for sharing your story! I'm a fellow cm addict with 68 days of clean time, currently in a long-term rehab and smack in the middle of this seemingly endless grey and joyless land called 'anhedonia'. Even though i had only been using for about 13 months (with two periods of recovery of 54 and 28 days of clean time before my last relapses), i feel like my addiction completely turned me and my life upside down. Words can hardly describe my gratitude at hearing the good news that there actually *is* hope for recovery and happiness beyond meth addiction. Have been searching RUclips for a clip like this, as i've been concerned that there may be no coming back from the place i've been at emotionally and psychologically lately. it's been really triggering me to want to use again. Thank you for sharing your experience, strength and hope with us. G-d bless you. - B. R.
I came to watch this video because a little over 6 months ago my bf at the time started showing signs of delusional thinking (like he once said he got a message from some flies that I was cheating on him) and ended up assaulting me based on a delusion... I didn't know he was using meth until the people at the jail tested him for it. One thing in this interview that really stood out to me was when Alex said that feeling the urge to hurt someone made him finally ask for help. That's the sign of a great person. I've never been through this type of struggle myself, but much respect and appreciation for those like Alex who are strong enough and humble enough to do the right thing!
Your story touched me to tears. I’m sitting in the line at Starbucks wailing because the way you speak now is so encouraging and I thank god for his grace and mercy over your life. You give me hope for people I hold near and dear to my heart to have the same outcome. I came here looking to understand meth addicts because my adopted sons bio mom is an addict as well as my daughters father. I’m not sure of what his drug of choice is but everything you said resonated with how he is also. Especially the part where you struggle mental. I have hope now because that is something I feared a person couldn’t come back from. Thank you I got what I needed and you blessed my spirit. Sending you love and continued encouragement along your journey. God will use you in ministry to share this testimony reach others. Get ready he’s not done with you yet.
