You'd think that Molly might throw us mere mortals a bone by occasionally looking to see where her hands are at, but no, she just smiles benignly at the audience while her fingers get on with it by themselves.
Absolute masters in their own right, even the bassist was going at it but didn't get much cred. Molly looks like she's been given that guitar to play with when she was 5 and nothing else 😂
I only discovered the talent that is Billy Strings about a week ago and it made me happy. I only discovered Molly Tuttle about three days ago and it made me happier (if that's even possible). Imagine how chuffed I was to realise there are clips of 'em both playing the same stage at the same time. It's almost made 2020 tolerable.
Like how when you're jamming with someone, you see them doing something interesting, you say, "Stop, go back over that, let me see that again." Billy doesn't need to see it again -- he catches it real-time. While simultaneously shredding his own part. Incredible talent on the guy!
Some Folks your just glad you got to live the same time as them and hear their music even for a little while. Thank You Billy and Thank You Molly See you in Santa Barbara.
Wow, we need these two to play together more often. Well, it would be nice anyway. They’re both so great independently but good lord do they compliment each other so well here. Molly is groovin!
That sweet girl and her guitar are one. I can't begin to fathom the hours of a life time of practice so far to be able to play like that with out even looking at the frett board.
@pwhak 88 I think she is, I feel her more refined, more innovative, whereas Billy seems to play the same scales over and over, but I admit he is good anyway.
@pwhak 88 They're both outstanding, but Molly has superior right-hand technique. Among the best I've ever seen. She's also more interesting musically, IMO. She's so good that she looks bored when she's ripping off these complicated improvisations.
You got this kids! Holy Macrel, practice pays off everytime ! Pudding proof proofs in the pudding! Whew! Breakneck speeds ! That is quite quite quite!!! WOWQUIET! MORE OF THIS PLEASE!!!!
Oh what fun how wonderful they are! I just listened to this from a lesson on Tony's accoustic guitar by mistake and it wasn't; lovely. It would take years of practice to do this!
Thanks for posting another jewel! The two best flatpickers of their generation, each with a voice on the instrument very different from the other. Love it!
The fiddle player looks to be John Mailander - he was regularly a member of Molly's band until recently when he joined Bruce Hornsbey's current band. I used google... because I like to recognize fiddle players and it bugs me when I don't know who the fiddle player is.
@@gmwPaul I've seen John will Molly several times and with some other folks. He's fantastic. Seems like a Stuart Duncan of this generation to me. Play with anyone and bring it up a level. He and Molly did a duet EP in '14 and I've been hooked ever since. Saw him play last year with Brittney Haas and it was magical. I don't think that's him but I'm not sure.
I’m new to Billy Strings music. First saw him duo with Tommy Emmanuel, who I greatly admire, and was blown away by his technique and sense of melody. He’s the real deal. So is Molly.
It's absolutely amazing to me to think about that kid must have seen in his life to feel the music the way he does Billy I'm going to follow you to the end of the world you my boy
I think we can change "sold their soul to the devil" to "sold their soul to Molly & Billy". It's just insane how these 2 play together. And every time they hand over the solo part, their faces say "here hold my beer". AMAZING!
1:43 That glance is priceless 🤣
Am I the only person who thinks these 2 would sure make a great couple? Would be bluegrass's Royal family if they got together!
Billy's fingerpickin good !
You'd think that Molly might throw us mere mortals a bone by occasionally looking to see where her hands are at, but no, she just smiles benignly at the audience while her fingers get on with it by themselves.
I know, man, even Clarence White would at least take a peek at where he was going!
Absolute masters in their own right, even the bassist was going at it but didn't get much cred. Molly looks like she's been given that guitar to play with when she was 5 and nothing else 😂
She does look at her hands.
@@bumperroan8211 saw Doc Watson play this ...he never looked once 😃
@@jbdmed I see what you did there! I was lucky enough to see Doc live with Merle.

I'm the same, just stumbled upon this channel and am really enjoying it. Also, love the term "chuffed" all the best from Eastern Canada. :D
Damn tootin. They’re both around the same age too. Hopefully they dont compete and realize they’re both awesome. 2 peas in a pod
Were you been boy north of the mason/dixon?
i like how billy watches people when they're soloing..you can just tell how much he loves the music
tremold2043 at this level they all are loving the music

Haha I love how he gets the stink face when ever somebody is ripping it up.
He seems like he’s actively taking a moment to learn and enthrall in their unique presence.✨🧘♀️✨
Molly is a force. He doesn't even rattle her.
Molly and Billy are unreal flat-pickers, but everyone in the band deserves massive kudos.
This music brings me joy, and I am very thankful for that.
@John Hurley So am I. I am also grateful that so much talent is now available online.
Dfffddfggg sssdddss
Then he says here hold mine.
Hear hear . 70 years old in New Zealand, hoping to hear either of these live when the current pandemic ends.
The friggin fiddle solo was real nice, and his shirt was cool AF as well
I found out about Billy Strings from a Rapper he said you gotta hear this young white boy!! Boy was he spot on!!
At about 3:25 when they started doing the bluegrass "Allman Brothers"... bliss.
Wow... Fiddler is smooth as silk!
Every once in awhile I think that I can play guitar....Then I watch stuff like this....and shake my head...
I hear you brother

Two of today's best....leading the charge! Thanks Molly and Billy!
Even good ol' Norman Blake is wiping a drool offen his mouth when he hears these two on stage together. Damn fine pickin' there ya'll !!
That Molly has a sweet infectious smile and can hold her own with ole Billy picking them guitars
She is legitimately amongst the best flat pickers on earth at this time. Billy is awesome but in terms of technique Molly is on another level.

Molly and Billy should be a thing.
And Sierra Hull.
Billy my boy 😅 picking like lightning
Molly Tuttle ate right here
I've heard Doc and Merle play this, and I've heard Tony Rice play this, but I don't think I've ever heard it played better than this.
kentucky colonels, appalachian swing.
I mean sound is so much better these days... But I agree. What a treat it would be to have them all on stage

You can tell Billy Strings lives for the music.
He's truly a unique talent

Is it me or does this dude seem like a genuinely nice guy? I bet he’s super laid back and cool to be around.
Cid Lopez See the Billy Strings interview and the story of his dads guitar! Man I cried.
Incredible musician, even better guy.
He seems like the kind of musician that makes everyone around him better musicians.
Molly Tuttle is a Bluegrass Queen 👸
Billy K on Sound. I have thousands of hours of his recordings. A master.

Billy shows how he a master already of guitar playing and he’s got so much more time to perfect his already perfect style
To those of you who gave a thumbs down, please link a video of you showing everyone how it's really done. No?
Just in case you think Molly can't keep up. She's a HELL of a flatpicker.
She is 1000 times better than Billy
The grin at 0:44. American Genius.
Franz Kafka he’s like “wait for it...”
I would never have expected Billy in the Lowground to have guitars leading instead of the fiddle. Very well done!
True joy..
They don't play music, they just feel it..... and the instruments obey!
I love the look on each of their faces when the other takes a solo break. Respect and admiration!
If you two looked at each other with content and/or love/apreciation you would sky rocket into the stratosphere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He has been playing from very young. His family have played for years, so he has been taught well.
Just great. Can't say more than that. Just great playing!
This is a sick band right here. I want a reunion tour.
When they make the movie about his life I want to play "green shirt".

Billy has his eyes on Molly's fingers. He is too smart to let the event pass without actually learning something.
Billy and Molly sure can navigate on the fretboard!
