Mergansers taste the same as every other duck to me. Teal might be more tender. But ive eaten divers, greys and mergansers together and they taste the same.

That’s crazy hunting and having to worry about gators! We don’t have that problem in Minnesota. Do they ever eat your downed birds?

Gators, hawks, and eagles will all steal our downed birds. The gators have been becoming more and more of a problem though. It feels like their numbers have been exploding and with the warmer weather we’ve been having they’ve been very active.

For the first 15 days of the season the limit for mottled ducks in Louisiana was 0. This was the 13th day of the season. Trust me, we shoot plenty when it’s legal. Thanks for watching 👍🏻.

Thanks. That blue wing was a pretty bird. I think since they aren’t a big duck they don’t get the appreciation they deserve. They’re under rated for sure.
