  • This was the final hunt of the first split in the west zone of Louisiana. We had storms all around us, but decided to head out between showers, hope we dodge some rain, and shoot some birds. The rain only got us for a few minutes in the morning, and the birds were there!
    After years of no limits, we finally shot our 2 man limit.

      Awesome to hear. Seems like if you have some feed and water this year, you likely have birds. Stay safe out there and knock ‘em down 🤘🏻.

    Great job, both of you, on getting your limit. Thankfully, the storms cooperated, and y'all were able to get your mixed bag! Really good video Mikie.

      Thanks! It’s nice to have birds again. Like Will said, it feels like the old days 5 years ago when limits were more common. But we got lucky on the weather. We actually dodged the rain all afternoon somehow.

    Any recommendations on ammo type? Size? Steel,bismuth?

    • @Unchartered_Outdoors
      @Unchartered_Outdoors  9 месяцев назад +1

      For brand, I’d recommend grabbing a few boxes that are in your price range and patterning them. Then make the decision. As for size anything 2-4 is great for big duck. I like, and shoot, Federal Speedshok 3” #3s. The 1450fps box. I think it’s a good sweet spot. I always go with the higher velocity shells if there are options.
      I’ve have never shot bismuth. It’s a little too pricey for me and steel gets the job done. If you can afford bismuth I hear good things about it though.
