The last ride of the Sprint? I took a Speed Triple for a spin. What's the verdict? It's a late 1998 or early 1999 Speed Triple T509, with Tor exhaust (as far as I know).
thank you for sharing the video. I am picking 1 up tomorrow. t509 1997 clean. never had a European bike before, love it but a bit worried still. how is your experience in this particular model now after so long. how reliable is it ?
Pavel C I've had it for half a year now and I still love it! The only thing that went bad was the battery, but that's no biggie. It has over 100k km's on the clock but it still feels as new. The engine is silky smooth, and it handles like a dream. The T509s are known to have a faulty 4th gear but if you buy one now it's almost certain the it either has been repaired or it doesn't have the issue.
very very nice bike! late 98 early 99 means that it's a 955cc? (i cannot see the manifolds to understand) got to buy one of these, always loved this model of Triple, the best ever made in my opiion (not only mine...) :) cheers from Italy!
that sounds compatible with colour scheme :) i defenately agree about 90hp being enough... my bike has 82hp but starts pushing from 1000rpm... how about maintenance, handling? satisfied with the purchase?
loris199 No regrets so far. Had to change the battery, but that's the only real problem I've had. Still gives me a smile every time I ride it. I am working towards making it to my taste though: got new indicators, bar end mirrors, heated grips and I would like a different exhaust, one that isn't as bulky as the one on it right now. Sounds great but it so massive. And maybe LED rear/brake lights. Bike has now over 100.000kms on it but it's still as silky smooth!
Ik was altijd helemaal gek van de 1050 tussen 2006-2010 maar tegenwoordig nijg ik meer naar de eerdere types mooie fiets en leuke video!
Very nice bike indeed, one of the best looking bikes ever in my opinion. 👍
I own it now, very nice bike. It drives good, steers sharp and despite its 20 years old it rides like a new one.
Any common issue, it still reliable?
@@marcoguzmanf yes the bike runs well
Never seen somebody so amazed by the power of a bike riding so slow...lol
rocco rostagno I really don't care about top speeds. Low end torque is what it's all about.
CasB Rides im with u. I have a 2010 speed triple
What was the mileage on this machine?
I'm very near buying one that has 15.000 on the clock? Guessing that's not a lot 🤔

How is the bike now? Did you ride it this summer or did you sell it?
I need parts for my 07. I'm having a hard time finding stuff?

loris199 It's an late 97 early 98, 885cc, so it has only 90bhp, which is still enough for me.

Leuke video. Ik heb een t509 in dezelfde kleur. Kom vaak bij KAT motoren over de vloer :-)
I guess it must by tricky for an English dude riding in Nordwijkerhout :)
