- Jeff Stone gives us a review of a 1999 model Triumph T509 Speed-Triple, checking out how it performs and handles, as well as seeing how practical it is. The Speed-Triple produces a respectable 108bhp, making 72 ft.lbs of torque @ 6000rpm, making it a pleasure to play around on the throttle.
I own a 1999 model, I've had it since 2004 and I love it to bits. I'm now approaching 68 yrs of age, I've had lots of bikes since I was old enough to ride at 16 and this one is closest to my heart, it,s not the fastest, it,s not the most comfortable, it's not the best handler but there is just something that resonates with me and this bike. I will keep it until my dying day and then my son can take over ownership of this magnificent motorcycle. It was even made in the UK with the Union Jack on the tail fairing unlike the modern ones built in Thailand.

That is something I really like is to have a bike few other people have....Typically about 15 years old or so. Suzuki TL1000S, Kawasaki ZRX 1200, Now a Triumph Speed Triple, which oddly enough of all the bikes I ever had this is the one people seem to like the best, I have gotten more compliments and comments on it than all other bikes I owned put together... It's a 2000 Model in Roulette Green ... so I think that pulls people in.
i have the same bike, only mine is from 2001. Really enjoy it a lot.

10 years I have owned mine now.love it to bits headlights I like so no need to cha f.e a matter of taste

Could you put a SV650 / SV1000 headlight assembly on, naked bike 2 gen 2006 up with the little headlight fairing ? It would look so much better, they copied the Honda's single sidearm why not this, form Suzuki ? It is a great looking bike, on back from the forks, just as he said !
