I’m a verified professional shovel pusher. As foreman of a cemetery crew, I recommend the “Razorback” shovel. I break shovels all the time, if it’s weak anywhere, it’s useless for everyday heavy lifting. The razorbacks love heavy loads while still being lightweight enough for extended use. Engineered to be virtually indestructible. 😅

Guys I love your show. Really respect your efforts to make a new life. I live in Trinidad, way south of you. We have real difficulties with using wood. Termites make nonsense out of everything I have ever done, even destroying a green heart deck. Eventually I had to use plastic!! You can get a company that does termite work to treat the land and you and keep doing it every few years, that will certainly help. I would really like to see you succeed. Best wishes.

Weather treated wood that's been kiln dried. It's more expensive but a straight board won't warp or shrink. And since it's more expensive you go and hand pick your own boards because some will warp during the drying process and like the other boards you had delivered they are just going to grab a stack without checking.

you did the right thing, its tough to take a life, but he would be back until they wipe out your edibles. Do some research and get you a herd protector. Some people use donkeys, a single goose, or herd protective dogs, there are many options. I ended up getting a great Pyrenees and no more issues with bob cats or coyotes. You need to figure out what works for the predators you're having problems with and your lifestyle. If you go the dog route, get two, packs learn to work together, more confident, more successful, and less likely to get harmed.
