@@salzar4431 I don’t like asking for subscribers but it seems to work, I was on 1000 subscribers at the start of this project so I think it’s going ok 😀
When you first revealed the metalwork for the arch, I thought it was a bit too much, but after seeing the brick arch, I think it's worth the effort. Like you said, you're the one who's going to have to look at it.
The tunnel arch looks brilliant. Something to be very proud of. Absolutely love how you just have an idea and you're straight to the swifty and cutting it out 😅 Looking forward to the next one!
Dave, that is looking great. The attention to deal on the insulation, brick work, tunnel arch is splendid. Can’t wait to see the entire project completed…
Cutting each brick for the arch is well worth the effort. I am a 59 year old bricklayer and I can tell you it was the right thing to do. The other way is exceptable but not really for facework.
Great video... and taking your time to make things to a "top quality" level is not over the top, its spot on. Very well done and i can't wait to see the finished product. Cheers from Australia.
I've binge watched all your bunker videos Dave, having been recommended from watching Colin Furze's projects. Brilliant this Dave. Very impressed with your work.
Dave it's your home and your den. You will have to look at it for the rest of your days so nothing wrong with doing it once and doing it right. I think its all going to look fantastic and you will be able to have a beer knowing you did all the work and can be proud 👍
Well over the top with the Arch, but well worth it. If you hadn't done what you did, imagine the number of times you would look and think "if only". It would drive you batty! Great vid!
Hahaha real nice letting the Luba ride you around, that thing is a beast! I've got the same problem as you, a lot of grass and other priorities and you can let kids set it up. Sometimes it is a bit too strong for its own good though. It once got stuck under a group of beehives that are placed on a wooden structure and weighed about 50kg and it just moved the entire construction.
Very good building so far. Little side note but I like how much attention to detail you put in that is what ultimately separates a good build from a great build!
Yep..perfect call on the archway..Those little details pay off for ever as you admire your own work in the years to come.. You can only build this once so why not make it something you are very proud off..
Amazing effort and passion wish I had a mate like you, amount of crazy things i make n build in timber being a chippy, doing it in cad thn metal would save some much time. I covered my extension when I built it with an old lorry curtain for the few hours it took to make a frame out of 4x2 and scaffold tube never lost a day to weather 👊👍
With second edition template, entrance looks better than it may be with first template.. 👍 Great job and excellent video, as always! Add some storage space under the new stairs.. 😉
Looking really good Dave, I think you are 100% bang on with the arch, if you are going to do something like an arch do it right. Also for those that don't know the sports dumper, the engine is a TDI landrover engine the reason the battery has not needed charging is that once it is running the only electrical item on the vehicle is the fuel solenoid which hardly uses any power
I do the same thing as you when I'm restoring arches for spillway's or bridges, etc, when I'm doing volentry brick work restoration on canals and ralways in the UK. I want the restored brickwork to look correct to me and people looking at in in one or two hundred years time.
so good you cut the bricks, it makes a huge difference, and makes the tunnel entry look so much better. I am however very triggered by your use of comic sans. I guess it is in keeping with your other signs, but good god, it is hard to look at!
I must admit the brick cutting had me wincing, it looked terrifying using the gigantic grinder holding the bricks with your foot! All the same though, very impressive result chap!
I'm loving the videos! These are the only videos I look forward to coming out! I'm so glad I can say I've been here since 6-7k followers and I really hope you hit 100k by Christmas. I love the attention to detail and how they're becoming slightly funny too. Can't wait for the next video.
Mate you are absolutely smashing it!!! Some serious graft being put in fella! Really really enjoying this build and the brickwork is going to look real authentic. Great work mate so impressed
I am surprised he didnt seal the outside walls between the dirt with a sealant to prevent moisture from coming inside to begin with here in the states its mandatory to prevent mold and moisture buildup as it will over time. I always laugh at his Tornado title ive been through a few tornadoes in my life, and they are no joke, where there they have little or none! always enjoy his great work and attention to detail!
If you google you'll find that the UK has the most tornadoes per square mile of any country according to some figures, though they are mostly very weak - nothing compared to what we get in the US (I'm British originally, now in the US).
Looking good Dave I’ve been really busy but I’ve come in to see how you’re getting on I’m a labourer these days and have a little bit of experience with a few trades ever want a extra set of hands ide absolutely love to help make this happen no charge
Great work Dave, cutting those bricks was definitely worth it! You should set up a camera so we can see more of the work happening in a wide angle view
Same thoughts here... Or at least also have waterproofing and drainage on the outside of the concrete wall as well and have the waterproofing that was shown in the video essentially be the backup to it. Very interesting regardless, though... Haven't seen this method of waterproofing/management in the US before. Wonder if it's common in Europe?
I was thinking of doing it this way but they would of been touching one side and have about 13mm gap the other so thought it was just easier to cut them first. The next arch is even tighter so I have got to cut the bricks for that as well
It Wasn’t a proper sponsorship, but I did gain a new lawnmower so was handy for me, hopefully the videos will be properly sponsored soon which would help with the build 😀
Impressive Dave, new subscriber just for the effort and entertainment, but the detail is biblical. I hear what you say about planning, not the quickest ppl to deal with, lets leave it there.
Looking good Dave, i bet most builders want a swift cut now lol
Makes the job easier when you cut the key stones/bricks before you start the job 😂
Colin where is your video? 😂
I am a builder, and you’re right! I do want one. Not available in the States from what I can tell.
“Obviously I’m putting some effort in here” bit of an understatement there Dave!

Cutting the bricks is definitely overkill. And I wholeheartedly approve of your attention to that detail.

You definitely made the right decision on the brick archway.
I think I could be classed as crazy 😂
I was surprised you needed so much insulation underground! Yes the bricks around the arch were worth the extra effort.
Yes I was thinking that as the temperature will never drop as much as it does above ground in winter, should be nice in there though 😀
It all looks great Dave and so impressive. The mortar round the arch is banging!

I like to lay square bricks, and after the concrete has set, I cut a resses for 20mm of motor joint. Jive or take both ways work well. Nice job.

Just a suggestion, recess the train tracks into the concrete through the standing area so you dont have anything to trip over.
