I just bought one. Being shipped from Japan so I can’t wait to get it! I wanted a 62MAS but have enough Seikos to kill a small horse, so a Citizen will freshen up the mix. I typically stick to 5 brands: Seiko, Tudor, Hamilton, Oris, and Casio. I haven’t owned a Citizen before but have heard nothing but good of it. Thanks for the awesome review
I have always been a fan of Citizen, especially the Promaster line. Built like tanks, nice finishing, no battery changes on eco-drives and they have been trying to up their game on the automatic side. I feel like Citizen gets overlooked many times unfortunately. For me the Citizen mineral crystal has been pretty tough. In 15+yrs, of the 4 I currently have, only one Promaster had to be sent in for service, and while there for $60 they swapped the mineral for sapphire, so as long as they have the size of crystal for your watch they will do that for you.
Wow 🤩 you’re distracting me from Seiko and Orient LOL 😂. This is a fantastic watch from Citizen. Love it and thanks for sharing this awesome Citizens watch 👍🏻🙏🏻💯
I thought it was a reasonnable size, for a Citizen...and then the almost 51mm lug to lug came right into it. This alone, means it will at least entirely cover practically any wrist, and over hang from a lot ( even big wrists, because it's about the shape of your wrist, not just the size ). Then you add male end links, which can easely add 2mm. Well, nice watch, but very weird choice in proportions.
Great review and awesome diver. I love Citizen divers, but unfortunately they are just too large for my 6.5” wrist. My max is about 49mm lug to lug and this one is way over it. I wish Citizen would start offering sapphire crystals too. It’s nice having the peace of mind not worrying about scratching a crystal. But I do agree that the Citizen Promaster mineral crystals seem to be as good quality as the Seiko Hardlex crystals. I’ve yet to scratch any of my Citizen Promasters with mineral crystals or Seiko’s with sapphire crystals. Citizen watches are great whether automatic or eco-drive.
I never understood how people mischaracterize Citizen as a company. If you look at Seiko Group Mkt cap compared to Citizen's it is much smaller. Citizen is a much bigger WATCH company.
Good video! Thanks! I have a citizen super armor in TI and it has sapphire...400-500$ for that watch! Soooo... no excuse for this watch not having sapphire
Great looking watch ,, the citizen Asia automatic are always overlooked ,, I have the white dial 44 and love it . Perfect for my larger wrist size. The height looks bigger then the others ?
Such a beauty but having these nice old-school esthetics with this huge size just isn't working. Would definitely grab one if it was 38-39mm as it should.
Compare this with Seiko SPB143...This model will knock the crap out of it in design (clasp and sign crown) alignments issue and price. IMO.Great video!
The Seiko is much nicer: sapphire crystal, proprietary Diashield coating on watch and bracelet, beautiful brown and gilt combo, and lug to lug size is more suited to smaller wrists.
Is it really 50.7mm lug to lug? Did you get some calipers on that to verify? This is the only place on the internet with L2L figure for this watch, so very curious to confirm. Seems long considering the diameter.
We seem to have our eyes on the same watches. This one immediately caught my eye. Then the semi-sarb looked really good until you mentioned the lack of half-links. I don't want to suffer through that again just like I did with the SARB.
It looks like 52-0110, well, slightly different case and the triangle at the top. With vintage market in full retard mode this is a great alternative + you can use any other bracelet with straight endlinks AND the straps will look tits on this due to horizontal lug space.
Very nice but too big and I won't buy a watch with Rolex hands unless it's a Rolex. As for mineral, you can't polish scratches out so its the worst of both worlds.
@@AverageBros Needs an 9000 movement, I like Citizen, but even the 4r's are better than 8000's. I do think the 9000's with high beat movement is superior to 4r and on par and maybe better then the 6r movements.
@@AverageBros I'm a bit disappointed, man. That's just specification jargan. Have you heard the 8-series' rotor noise? It's a wildly outdated movement, especially when Citizen has their Eco Drive.
I was hesitating on watching this video, but this watch is impressive. I own three Citizen watches and their QC is spot on. Thanks for the review!

Does the bracelet retro-fit on the 62MAS? (Or on the modern re-issue)

I'm so on the fence with this watch. Citizen did an incredible job with design execution here. Thanks for the great review!
Why are you on the fence? Citizen is awesome!
@@davyboyol2l , its big
Best watch review, it has it all... exactly the info i was seeking. New watch on its way
Citizen rulezzzzzzz .... Wished it was 40mm watch and 47mm L2L , awesome watch !
Im getting one. Is beautiful!
Thank you for this review and for the direct comparisons right off the bat!
Why havent I seen this! Pretty good find
i like the tradisional look and a good recommendation but i also like the ana-digi from the aqualand series.
good eye

Almost a contender for me. Sapphire + female end links w/ drilled case would make it a buy.
yeah, competitive space for sure but for mainstream Japanese divers around the same cost, I think it stacks up pretty well
The clasp is a huge Winner compared to competition.....Seiko are you seeing?

Great review. I will get the Titanium 45” Promaster from your prev video. Stay safe amigo.
that one is def a few notches above, enjoy it!

Not sure I'd consider 41mm huge, when the Black Bay 41 literally brought Tudor back from the dead, lol
I love my Orient watches. Orient Ray, Orient Ray Raven and Bambino.
Man I love it but that thickness looks almost too chunky. Right?

reminds me so much of the 62mas
Really like this citizen, only downside for me personally is the handset they decided to go with. Other than that, great piece. Great video bro 😊🍻

I purchased a 2023 Promaster for $178.00 from Jomashop. But it does not have the Mercedes hand and has a rubber strap
Great review
Citizen sells far more watches annually than Seiko. I own both. The Citizens blow Seiko away in the quality control department.
Citizen are on a roll now is the time to buy before they do a Seiko have both brands and love seiko but my citizens are my favourite ❤
Should have used Seiko 62mas hands.
Maybe they were avoiding that exactly. Case already looks like the 62mas.
Citizen getting their heads out of their asses and starting to make more watches for enthusiasts... how can you be mad at that?

you didn't show us the case back unfortunately :(
@8:08
Mercedes hand... why Citizen why?
reminds me of the gold ranger in Power Rangers Zeo hahahhaa
Citizen as a whole Makes much better watches than Seiko.
Not a fan of the Mercedes hand on watches outher than Rolex .
Who cares

Nope, I'd even say it's near the bottom of the pack with that Miyota 8-series movement.
Hacks and Handwinds w/40hr PR, compares well vs. the 4R movement powered Seiko's in the same price point

@@atticus6572 nope, no noise issues here, also this is a newly updated movement that added the hacking seconds feature.
I liked it until I saw a side shot of it. It's thickness needs to go on a diet.
