  • The Nexx XG100R adds to the Nexx X Garage Range, giving added versatility to the already popular XG100 by adding the hinged visor mechanism. Now in stock and available at Urban Rider:
    www.urbanrider....
It doesn't stop there though. Nexx have revised and improved the shell for 2018 as well as intorducing a new smaller shell size to allow a full size range from XS through to 2XL.
Nexx updated the already renowned XG100 and unveiled the XG100R. The R version is a more speed-hungry sibling to the XG100: Nexx has removed the peak and replaced the snap-on visor with a rotating shield with very effective anti-fog lens. It gives the whole a sleek, racy look that works amazingly well with the helmet's beefy chin bar. It weighs in at an impressively light 1200gr thanks to Nexx's proprietary X.Matrix shell (a composite of carbon, kevlar and fibreglass).

The Nexx XG100R together with the Premier Trophey, Bell Bullit, AGV x3000 and Shoei Glamster are among the most pleasant designs on the market.

    2 years of ownership.
Pros: light weight, good sound insulation, comfortable, solid shell
Cons: visor is too tiny (doesn't offer the best view), visor fixations always unscrews, too much fogging.
It's a good "beginner" helmet but well below the premium ones. The Shoei Glamster for example is a superior helmet.

Waited 6 months to purchase this locally. Worth the wait. It's not the easiest to put on but the fabric is extremely comfy - makes you not want to take it off. Some say the sole front vent makes it hot and stuffy at times, but I didn't find it a bother (and I live in an area with a tropical climate). The air flow is adequate. Overall, I'm in love with my Jupiter Red version (bought a size L; my head circumference is 59-60 cm) and may consider getting another.
    Thanks for the review, UrbanRider!

Just got this. Really hard to put on your head, but when it's on, feels comfy, fits well. It is a large shell. Noticably larger than Biltwell Bonanza helmets. Hope it will break in.

With the XG100 I find it a bit hard to look over my shoulder. The visibility from the visor is not that great. And at higher speeds, the visor shifts up.Hope it is all remedied with this new 'R' version

How is the fit of this compared to the Bell Bullit? The Bullit is really snug with my chin like it barely fits. Will this one have more space in the chin area with the same shell size as compared to a Bullit?
Also I imagine it is quieter than the Bullit due to less vents, can you confirm that?
    Thanks in advance!

Cool lid, I almost went for the XG100, but I was put off looking like a bobble head. Do you think there will be a bubble shield released for this helmet?

    • @UrbanRiderlondon
      @UrbanRiderlondon  6 лет назад

Good question. I don't believe any bubble visors are planned for this season for the XG100R. Nexx still have some accessories to release for their new helmets but with the XG100R from what we have been shown it is only this one visor profile for now. I guess because the anti-fog system will only work with this kind of visor. If the helmet proves popular and lots of people want it then it'll probably be something for the season after. Nexx have been very good lately about listening to feedback and adapting. Cheers, Andrew

I liked the XG100 because of the small shell size. Anyone know how larger shell size of the R model (LG-XXL) compares? Does the larger shell size mean its basically the same size as a standard (shoei or arai) helmet or does it still have a slim(er) profile?

Yes I've tried it out. It's the quietest full face helmet in our retro range for sure. The visor is fairly thick compared to other models and it has a really good seal. It's hard to give you any particular figures to back it up but all I can say is it's pretty good in that respect. Cheers, Andrew
