I really like this version. The old one has its charm, but this one fits her way better. Its like... like its supposes to be this happy and innocent tune that makes you reminice and appreciate the people around you and the love you feel for them, yet... theres also this pervasive sense of lonliness and isolation. Like looking back on good memories only to realize that all the good times you had are long gone. Its supoosed to be happy, its trying to be happy, reminding her of friendship and love and innocent fun, but that only serves to call attention to the fact that she doesnt really have any of that. The more she tries to pretend that she's happy and has friends and plays with the other artworks, the more obvious and pronounced it is that shes alone, a fabricated world where everything seems whimsical on the surface, but its all fake, all the "people" she's talking to, she might as well just be talking to herself.
I think i still prefer puppet, but just because that's what im used to! I still love this theme alot, it's just harder to accept because we've had puppet for so long
I never got the hate for this theme especially since like the cord progression isn’t far off from Puppet, it's literally a honestly more creepy distorted ver of Puppet and idk, knowing that Puppet has similar notes and progression makes it creeper, my brain knows it's similar but it's off giving a bit of an uncanny valley vibe

I just noticed the subtle crayon-like shadow Mary casts, that's actually such a cool detail.
