I've been lucky enough to own a few eell's both shot stunningly but life got in the way so i sold them much to my regret this video has confirmed to me i need another eell in my cabinet there's no other gun for me.
Thank you for your comment. I am pleased that the video brought back happy memories for you. Feel free to contact me with your specific requirements, matt@eastfield.group. Kind regards, Matthew
I always admired these when I was growing up while getting into shooting i’d always see these more then anything in the mid 2000s beretta have a strong presence in north Yorkshire. I really like the scroll engraved models they’ve come out with I’d have to have one in 20 or 28 if I was ever to have one.
Thank you for your comment. I can recall selling these in the mid 2000's and their popularity was such and the price point so good (due to the exchange rate) that EELL's were almost unobtainable through GMK (the UK importers). The older scroll engraved versions are very nice looking guns as you say. Kind regards, Matthew
One of the few sideplated ou's i actually like, can't justifythe prices on them today but hey that's beretta, 682 gold e is forever my favourite gun from them
Thank you for your comment. I think a lot of guns have become very expensive but if you consider how long they last they still offer excellent value for money. Kind regards, Matthew
@@eastfieldgunroom they are good guns, but given what our market offers dollar to dollar they are well overpriced, here you can get into a Miroku mk10 competition sporter or Ml11 adjustable for between 1500-1700 pounds equiv, both those guns are every bit as good, and offer as much as a 694 for under half the price, it's hard for me to say they are good value when you can compare those guns on our market
Excellent review Matt and delighted to see it as I'm looking at a 687 sporter with 32" at the moment (not sideplated) and debating whether to stick with similar in Miroku. However, you are quite right is stating the exceptional build quality that will last a lifetime and more. Although it is laser engraved, the attention to detail is superb and I agree they look brilliant.
Thank you for your comment. I am pleased that you enjoyed the video. Please feel free to contact me regarding your 687/Miroku dilemma. Kind regards, Matthew
Thank you for another great review. I would appreciate your thoughts on the Beretta 687 EELL Sporting vs the Browning 725 Grade 5 Sporter and which would be your pick. I'd love a review of the Browning 725 G5 Sporter one day when you have the opportunity. Cheers Trent
Great review matt I always wanted a eell and went to buy one in the shop but then got my head turned by a mirouki mk11 loved the feel of it so came out with the mk11 in the end 😂
Thank you for your comment and kind words. The 687 EELL is for many an aspirational model but in terms of technology, looks and feel, the MK11 is a superb bit of kit. Kind regards, Matthew
very good review loved it ! i am planning to buy this gun early 2024 while i'll bre travelling to France ( i live in Africa) . what are the requirements to buy a shotgun in the UK? could you do a tax free sale?
Thank you for your comment. I am pleased that you enjoyed the video. Please contact me directly at matt@eastfield.group and I will be happy to help. Kind regards, Matthew
Nice review thanks, regarding the differences between sporter and game, thats (sporter) ventilated barrel, palm swell, pistol grip, barrel length? I see a number for sale with 2 sets of barrels 30-32 why would that be? I like berettas I have a 682 gold e (yes I don’t mind the fish scale chequering) a DT10 and I think I will add one of these. Also could you do a Perazzi MX12 SC3? Looks like a sweet spot in that bracket around £6k
Thank you for your comment. You are certainly correct regarding the differences between the game and Sporter although the game model is traditionally much lower in the comb also. As for the comment about the two sets of barrels I am not really sure but I too have seen them offered for sale. My opinion would be that owners like the way that the gun feels in 30” and rather than have two guns decide on extra barrels to give them the ultimate all rounder (more stability on clays and the capability for taller game birds). Kind regards, Matthew
Hello Matt, The 687 which is 2 years old with little use has a very heavy application of Tru-Oil on the stock. That in itself is not a major problem as it can be removed but the previous owner did not take care and mask off the checkering. The checkering is caked in Tru-Oil which is unsightly to say the least never mind having to remove it. I have decided to hold onto my Miroku 3800. However, I came acroos a Browning Crown 32" multichoke Invector+ system in as new condition. I recall your excellent and very informative review of the Limited edition XS Pro Crown but cannot find any reviews on the game model. Do you have any opinions on the 32" game model? Thanks Gerry
Thank you for your comment. As you say not a big deal to remove a coating of Tru oil. Personally I have always found the Silver Pigeon range in 32" a bit clumbersome but just my opinion. As for the 525 Crown, very nice looking gun but a bit slim and low in the comb and I am not a fan of the recoil pad. I hope this helps. Kind regards, Matthew
Curious to know what the extra money gets you from the 687 V to the EELL. Supposedly the same wood. Is it really just another £3k for a sideplate and engraving?
Thank you for your comment. I believe that the new SPV does indeed come with class 3 woodwork. The sideplates, extra engraving and deluxe case (supplied with the EELL) are the differences. Action and barrel configurations are identical. Kind regards, Matthew

I have one in 20 bore with a straight hand stock. Absolutely love it. Light and handy weighing in at just 1/2 ounce over 6 pounds.
Thank you for your comment. A rare gun with a straight hand stock and not really a popular choice here in the UK. Kind regards, Matthew
Another really good, in depth review. Thank-you.

Some of Holland and Holland's Beretta's have shot literally millions of squibs with very basic care and attention, and are still going strong.
Thank you for your comment. Millions of squibs??. Kind regards, Matthew

Doesn't it have diamond pigeon engraved on the gun is that may be why it is some times called a diamond pigeon?? 🤔
Thank you for your comment and well spotted. Not all 687 EELL's have Diamond Pigeon under the top lever. Kind regards, Matthew

Thanks Roger. Not sure it is a budgie though. On closer insdection I believe it is some kind of dinosaur with wings🦖🦖😂. Kind regards, Matthew
It will be great if you review the SO5 and the SO series in general.

Is this what they call a diamond pigeon?
Thank you for your comment. Yes the 687 EELL is referred to as a Diamond Pigeon. This is stated in the video. Kind regards, Matthew
