    Hey guys! The objective of this video was to make the pedal less stiff as plenty of people prefer or even need their pedal like that. For the people who prefer the pedal stiffer, follow this link for the video for you :) ruclips.net/video/-JKB35NwHjE/видео.html

      Except it destroys the system!
      In the software of the G29, there is a curve at the end of the travel. The rubber block changes the brake action from a travel application to a force application... what a load cell tries to do.
      That rubber, coupled to the software curve, makes the pedal feel and work like a real brake pedal. The trick is to adjust the in game brake pressure to match the rubber.
      Don't remove the rubber, it's needed to function properly. I now run Simagic P1000 pedals... the load cell is 100kg.

    PAY ATTENTION GUYS!: before putting the cover back, check that the wires are not crushed inside, I followed the whole procedure and the wire between the accelerator and the brake was crushed by the cover and both the steering wheel and the pedals were not detected by the pc anymore. I had to take the pedalboard apart again and arrange the wires so they wouldn't get damaged again.

    • @eigelb563

    • @eigelb563
      @eigelb563 Год назад +5

      @@oreoking9513 dont worry too much about it, if it looks okay it is probably - before the wire goes out of the whole pedal set there is a plastic thing that makes sure the cable is straight - and mine wasnt even in that plastic thing so it was obviously crushed when I closed it - if I had just looked before closing it again I would have fixed it instantly because it was quite obvious

    Extremely grateful for the guide. I've heard some people recommend replacing the rubber bit with a wad of sponge, but I'll do without. This is my first wheel and I thought something was wrong, as the first game I tried didn't detect brake. I have no cockpit, so the intense force required for the game to detect it (truck simulator) was shocking. Logitech could've included a few optional bits for modders, but never should've done this by default. Thanks again.

    Just a note to everyone: this DOESN'T apply to the G923 pedals! Logitech changed the project and the brake pedal just uses a stiffer spring, there's no rubber piece to remove anymore.
    You need to either swap with the clutch spring or with a new spring.

      @@DiamondhandsForever
      F3 is like a small version of a F1 car. Considering the brakes, we do a bedding of the discs before anything. During that time, they do feel stiff, but after, they're actually pretty light.
      In any type of race type car I've tried, the forceback is immediate unless they've used some sort of brake booster, and it never require that I push the pedal with like 90% force.
      In F1 from what I've heard from drivers I talked to, the brakes are actually pretty soft, considering F1 normally uses a wire for the brakes... F2, F3, Rally, and GT cars, doesn't usually use wires for braking, so the force is immediate on the pedal. With F1 there's quite a bit of travel from what I understand...
      Never tried F1 myself though, so I can't confirm this 😅

      For me (at the time) I didn't have anything to mount my pedals too and so with the force required to compress my brake pedal with the black rubber piece in my whole setup would move so it was essential for me to find a solution and this was the best one for me. I have heard drilling the rubber block as you did seems to yield some great results and I'm glad it worked out well for you. Since I made this video I have upgraded to Fanatec CSL pedals with the load cell brake which is quite stiff but now that I have a rig to mount them to I love them. So, in the most part this mod will help people who don't have a solid way of mounting their Logitech pedals or maybe children etc who don't have the strength to compress the pedal. @@mpowr2707 yeah, i had to get used to the rubber stop, i came from the DFGT wheel with plastic pedals, so when i got the g29 and rubber stop i was very tempted to remove it for the accuracy which i had lost moving up to it, then once i became used to it i though i'd remove it to see if i improved, i didn't because i had become used to the feel, and removing it threw me right off and my times suffered again, so that's when i softened it as a compromise, but if anyone is having probs because of stiffness like the chair rolling back or the pedals moving etc,then best to remove it entirely i guess, because accuracy is all important in braking

    When i first bought my g29 i thought the brake was to hard, but now that i am playing only f1 2020 i think that if it was stiffer would be better to trail brake, because when you start releasing the brake you cant really feel where it is.
    Nice video tho, helpfull for people that cant fix the pedals or are just begining.

      Hi, yeah I do think that it can help to have a stiffer brake in many cases alright. I have recently upgraded to a full solid cockpit and gotten fanatec CSL elite pedals and I am loving having the brake setup a lot stiffer.
      As you said though, this is most useful for beginners or even people that just don't have a way of mounting the pedals securely enough for the stock G920/G29 brake.
      Thanks for watching and commenting, have a great day 😁

    Thank you sir, now I can gradually brake for the first time without hearing that clicking noise when I tried to brake harder. Still makes no sense they would put such a cheap and small square-ish piece of rubber in a round spring..on top of that, the rubber is fully loose.

      Hi, thank you for the kind feedback on the video. Do you have the g920/g29 or the g923 pedals? The G923 pedals do not have the rubber rectangle.

      @@mpowr2707 Hey bro, thanks for the note! i do indeed have the G923 :D ... there was no plastic in there, but a solid tip i found that helped a bunch is using the LOGITEC G HUB to INCREASE the "sensitivity" of the break pedal and now i don't have to press it balls-to-the-walls to get a decent break, but just half way already does 100% ... really helped too! :D
      Thank you still for the video and the comment bro, much appreciated!

    That rubber block creates a realistic feeling of a real car brake pedal (in a real car, the pedal gets stiff when the brake pads touches the disc). So I would recommend remove some rubber of the block to make it less stiff (for example, doing a hole in the block with a drill) instead of just remove the whole block. This way, you dont lose that "brake pad" feeling, and still get a less stiff brake pedal (sorry about my english)

    • @PlutoProtogen
      @PlutoProtogen 2 года назад +7

      true but none of my cars have felt that way, they dont just instantly get stiff, i played ats and had to force my foot down hard to get my truck to even start stopping where my truck i just ease on the brake and she slows down, the rubber could be way softer to simulate brakes, even the brakes on a new car i drove werent like this.

    • @hmmm9183
      @hmmm9183 2 года назад +3

      @@PlutoProtogen as the guy said, put holes in the rubber. It will give it more distance to compress and will be linear

    you dont need to unscrew the pedal assembly from the bottom base. Just remove all the silver screws and remove the top cover. Also, that brake spring feels too light without the rubber. Replace it with GTEYE clutch spring; It feels more natural with progressive feel. (GTEYE brake spring is too stiff and too thick therefore too short of pedal travel).
