    Very informative video. I’ve been seeing quite a few vids with the leather but it seems to mostly be chrome tan leather which traditionally can’t be “tooled”. Veg tan however can be after it’s ‘cased’ (dampened). So I was curious as to whether the Deboss tool would work any better on cased veg tanned leather rather than chrome tanned.

      No. The rotary and knife blades each have a different housing. The rest of the tips can all use the same one and swap out.

    That's really great! The aluminum painted black looked really cool! Can glass be engraved with the Maker? I have a piece of glass that I took out of a picture frame and thought it would be really cool to engrave it. I think it is about 1.5 to 2 mm thick.

    Thanks for your sharing. I was purchased recently Debossing tip and Quickswap housing, it works really nice, but I don’t know why when I changed the engraving tip to this Housing for engraving, it showed “material incompatible”, do you have any experience about this?

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  3 года назад

      That doesn't have anything to do with the tip. That means that material you picked to engrave won't work with that tip. You would need to pick another material. Be sure you changed your lines in design space to engrave lines as well.

    • @thaokathy3067

      I have actually used a scoring wheel on it. The only issue is that it goes past where it is supposed to stop. I think this engraving tool will tear it. I think I would try the deboss tip on it as that one would probably work.

    Can you tell me what this is? It’s a brand new unused engraving tip.
    Thanks

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  4 года назад

      I am guessing it is your software or firmware. Open up Cricut Design Space. Pull down the menu at the upper left hand corner. Click update firmware and let it check your machine. If that doesn't work, try updating design space itself.

      For engraving, the metal can be as thick as you would like. It just needs to fit under the roller so the maximum is 2.4 mm.

      Branding could work? Quite a few PCB manufacturers also do cheap CNC part milling to order. You could potentially mill on in steel, head it up and use to brand?
      Alternatively if you had a 3D printer you could make a custom patterned roller and jig to hold the Fitbit and align a roller. Then place Fitbit band in jig, roll your custom roller in ink and pattern the band.
