Thank you for such clear & concise explanations along w/visuals. I appreciate the scope & pace. You don't drag it out w/irrelevant jabber like many others & you don't rush it either. You cover the details perfectly! Thank you!
Omg just bought a Cricut and had no idea about the different tips... THANK YOU for this. Looking forward to seeing your other videos and learning more.
Thank you for sharing this all in a compact video. I don't like to spend 30-40 minutes watching one thing and you covered many topics in a much shorter time. Much appreciated and very well explained.
Awesome video! Thank you so much 😊. One tip I picked up when engraving aluminum... move your white wheels off to the side, or you’ll get roller marks that won’t come out! (Sorry if this tip was already posted: I looked, but I didn’t see it)
Hi, so beautiful to hear all that information from you. Thank you so much but I just have one question if I want to do a gift box, what could I use one of those? Can you let me know please thank you.
Wonderful video. I really loved seeing all the detailed comparisons. Thank you. I will be referring to these videos as I begin to develop projects to use these various tips. Wishing you a super week. Hugs Susan
Could you engrave thicker copper or silver sheets as long as you were not trying to cut? I’m a silversmith and I thought of engraving a design on the metal like a pattern to follow when stamping the metal.
Angie when you load tools with QSH the plastic piece on top of the gears you leave on. Another sites Video "Makers going to learn" took it off of the rotary blade, he said from a cricut seminar he learned suppose to take off. ????? I seam to learn better from you your full of so much knowledge, have you heard this? I took mine off do I need to put back on?
That's really great! The aluminum painted black looked really cool! Can glass be engraved with the Maker? I have a piece of glass that I took out of a picture frame and thought it would be really cool to engrave it. I think it is about 1.5 to 2 mm thick.
Hi, thank you so much for the video was very helpful but I have a question can you engrave on brass and what other materials besides aluminum and copper can you engrave on?
Really good video. I've veneered some thin ply with a real wood veneer. Would the engraving tip work to engrave lettering on the wood veneer to reveal the plywood/another material behind it?
I have that on my list to try myself. I have seen others try it and the results are not very clean. I am wondering if I can get it to work and actually look good.
Thank you for your reply. Ooh I’d be exited to see if you can get it working, would be a really exciting feature to add to projects. Have only just got my cricut this week so am brand new to the gig, so excited to get making 😊
checking in to see if either of you ladies tried engraving the wood yet. Also, Angie, I love ALL your videos. Super informative and very thorough. I know this video is old 😃. Have you tried engraving on apple wristbands?
I recently got the deboss, engrave, wave and perforator tools. I watched the deboss tool video and loved it and then I thought I would try it on chipboard only to do what you just showed as would not work. Dah! I should have watched this video before I wrecked a small portion of my chipboard. !! HA, jokes on me.
Very informative video. I’ve been seeing quite a few vids with the leather but it seems to mostly be chrome tan leather which traditionally can’t be “tooled”. Veg tan however can be after it’s ‘cased’ (dampened). So I was curious as to whether the Deboss tool would work any better on cased veg tanned leather rather than chrome tanned.
I loved your video on which tips to use on a variety of materials. I know faux suede is not recommended for Cricut but they sell it and I need crochet hat tags. Do you know if the engraving tool will work on faux suede?
Love your videos! I'm planning on engraving on acrylic. Have you engraved on a 4mm acrylic sheet? I only see option for a 1mm or 2mm on my maker. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance
For embossing in the Maker, you want the deboss tool. You can see more about that here: ruclips.net/video/KxarGjIOhfg/видео.html I also have a full video on how to make earrings and you can see that here: ruclips.net/video/ToK0MItOySs/видео.html The ones shown are from faux leather but you can see more about cutting real leather here: ruclips.net/video/nLvbaUWQACg/видео.html
Hi Angie, I am planning to buy a cricut and your videos are really helpful. I just have another question about the kinds of metal cricuts could engrave on. Can it engrave on a thick stainless steel necklace pendant? I understand this video is 2 yrs old but I hope you could help me more about cricuts. Thank you so much
Question - I see cards made with foil engraving. You did not cover that, but am wondering if you have tried it or can recommend it. I'm a newbie, so anything I try with my Maker3 is new to me! TY. I enjoy your clear, concise demos and explanations.
I’d really like to know if this would work on cork fabric. It would be awesome to make labels with my logo on cork fabric that I can sew into my products.
Angie, would I ever have to replace the engraving tool? I have 100 acrylic key chains to make and don’t want to stop and wait to purchase another. Should I have an extra on hand? Thanks❤️🇨🇦
Hey there great videos. i am new to the cricut and have the maker. i am currently looking for a stiff rubber material to both cut and engrave or deboss onto, but am struggling to find one. is ther a product you could suggest please
I was wondering which tip your recommend for basswood? I am trying to make wooden ornaments with names on them but I am unsure which tip works best for printing the names on the wood and staining it.
Just a little note about the drive housings you can not but them by them selves you need to buy one drive housing with a tip of one type or another then buy the other tips you want to have. I bought all the tips thinking that they would interchange with the roller blades drive housing they do not nether do they work with the knife blades drive housing so buy what ever the least expensive set you can find of the drive housing and a tip then buy the rest of the tips you want to have wow not so little of a note
Hello, thank you for all your videos you are awesome! Question.. I haven’t done any projects with my cricut yet.. just learning by watching videos.. my question is does Deboss work on regular paper?
I'm wanting to personalize my fitbit bands but I didn't want to spend almost 5k on a glowforge. Is there anyway to engrave a band using this on either a cricut or a silhouette??? Thanks in advance.
Branding could work? Quite a few PCB manufacturers also do cheap CNC part milling to order. You could potentially mill on in steel, head it up and use to brand? Alternatively if you had a 3D printer you could make a custom patterned roller and jig to hold the Fitbit and align a roller. Then place Fitbit band in jig, roll your custom roller in ink and pattern the band.
Love your videos! So informative and easy to follow! Just wondering if you have a link to the aluminum you use? Did you paint it or does it come that way? Thanks so much for doing these videos and for your wonderful website!

You are so welcome!
Thank you, Angie. I have learned so much from you since starting this year.

Great tip! I have issues with that with some materials and others are fine.
I had no glue the white wheels moved 🤦♀️😂
i love how you store your spraypaint!
Thanks!
I just purchased your bundle thanks I love your channel
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you for explaining it very clearly. I am in Australia
Glad it was helpful!
Very nice video turial about engraving tip tool . 😊👍
Loving these videos showing what we can and can't do with the tips. We don't have them in Australia yet, but thanks to your video I am well informed.
Great video in every way> Clear and right to the point!
Glad you enjoyed it!
you are the best !!!!! thank you so much this was so helpful!

Maybe this will help: ruclips.net/video/hTzBJXLjQI4/видео.html
Great video, can you adjust the Cricut for material thickness
To adjust the Cricut, you just pick a different material in Design Space. There are no adjustments on the actual machine that need to be made.
@@AngieHolden Thank you

I want to use the engraving tip on some copper I bought. Also on acrylic coasters and keychains
Good luck!

Yes it will work. It basically scratches the surface.
Thank you so much for making this video, it showed me just what I needed to know. ❤️
what do you think about engraving on basswood/balsa wood? have you tried those?

Put the piece back on. It is not intended to be removed.
That's really great! The aluminum painted black looked really cool! Can glass be engraved with the Maker? I have a piece of glass that I took out of a picture frame and thought it would be really cool to engrave it. I think it is about 1.5 to 2 mm thick.

@@AngieHolden Thank you for the link. I love the bottles! I guess it is better to etch glass than engrave it then?
Thank you for your video. Can you engrave on metal jewelry stamping blanks? Can you show how to do that in a future video? Thanks!
Yes you can! Try this video: ruclips.net/video/t3DEJmUEF6k/видео.html
Thank you so much. Pat
Hi, thank you so much for the video was very helpful but I have a question can you engrave on brass and what other materials besides aluminum and copper can you engrave on?

Wow, thank you!
Really good video. I've veneered some thin ply with a real wood veneer. Would the engraving tip work to engrave lettering on the wood veneer to reveal the plywood/another material behind it?
I don't think this will work with veneer. You can cut veneer with the deep point blade: ruclips.net/video/89HvM9GawPc/видео.html
Great video, I love how you show the difference between the two.
Do you know whether this would work on the basswood or balsa wood? Xx

Hi , is it possible to cut copper or aluminum sheets of small thickness?
You can find a video on how to do that here: ruclips.net/video/Nx_yn83qv_0/видео.html
Which is tool is better for cork trivets the engraving tool or debossing tool? I'm trying to engrave/cut my logo on a cork lid.
Cork is just going to shred with either of these tools. I don't think you can engrave it with the Maker.
I loved your video on which tips to use on a variety of materials. I know faux suede is not recommended for

The maximum thickness that will fit in the maker is 2.4 mm so no you cannot do 4 mm.
I have the housing that came with the maker for the fine point blade..can I use that housing for other blades also, like the knife blade?
No the knife blade will be a different housing. Here is a video all about blades: ruclips.net/video/yRFuJJseDRY/видео.html

This will NOT work on cork.

where is the best place to get the copper sheets, aluminum, and acrylic? Thanks for the tutorial!! I love he engraving tip!
I pick up my copper and aluminum on a roll at the craft store. Acrylic I usually get from Amazon or etsy.
@@AngieHolden Thanks!! What thickness do you purchase for both? What is the thickness limit?
For engraving, the metal can be as thick as you would like. It just needs to fit under the roller so the maximum is 2.4 mm.
Thanks! Where oh where do you get cost effective materials to use? IE:
Sheets of- acrylic, leather (colored), acetate, copper, aluminum, metal, etc.?
I usually just do Amazon for these types of things so I don't have a good comparison for you.

what kind of paint was used on the aluminum sheet?
It came pre-painted.
Which type should I use to engrave a silicone Apple Watch band?
A Cricut machine will not do this.
I watched this video and the de boss video. Which tip would you use on a leather belt?
I think the engraving would be the only one I would use.

Does the engraving tip works on the iPad app? Or desktop only???
Yes engraving will work on the app.

It is not really needed. I do but I do use my Cricut a ton.
Thanks. Where do you get copper sheets? Is the aluminum the same as kitchen foil? You’re so helpful.
I get the copper at Hobby Lobby and it comes in a roll. The aluminum was a thicker sheet. I have never been able to use kitchen foil on my Cricut.

I have bought acrylic from Amazon and Etsy.

It did come that way. It is Silhouette's brand actually!
What kind of paint would one use to paint aluminum? Guessing spray paint, one with a self etching primer.
Yep a good quality spray paint that is intended for metal should work fine. You can also buy pre-painted sheets (as I did here).
Can you use this with older machines?
This only works with the Maker.
Can you engraved on silicone?
No you cannot.
What about silicone bands ?? I have looked for a video and all I have found is a laser engraver..
