cool way to do it. im reluctant to glue something so big to my case that i cant put my phone in my pocket anymore though. my xperia 1 iv unfortunately has its lenses on the corner. currently using generic clip filter mounts for 37mm filters. works ok but the clamp blocks a part of the screen i sometimes often need to access for my video app. still looking for a solution to-date.
You could use a spare case like I did. Just pick up a cheap one to play around with. I usually plan a video/photo shoot to use the filter holder case and leave my daily one behind. I have to put it in a bag because the filter holder makes it difficult to put into a pocket. For your phone, you could try a square type filter holder used for DSLR/mirrorless camera lenses. They're a bit bulkier than circular ones but should fit your entire camera housing and sensors. The question is how do you want to mount it to a case??!!!
Yup! It's vital to use one in bright scenes especially if you will use the Cinema Pro app. Unfortunately there still is very little options for a custom lens case or holder for the Xperia PRO-I and the Xperia 1/V lines so need to make our own! The Xperia lines are promoted to serious videographers, cinematographers and content creators for their "pro" level, manual video capabilities yet Sony is unable to offer a simple solution for filters!
It's something I've always wanted to do when I had the original Xperia 1 and iii. I think the issue is the placement of the lenses on the side. It would be very difficult to place a traditional circular filter in that area. Do you have any ideas on how it could be done?
@@thefitlifechannel2021 umm actually after watching this video i'd rather stick with the universal lens adapter from moment hahha because i have quite a few lens that i want to pair with this phone like anarmophic / nd / mist ...
@@mitismee I think as long as you stick with the same 67mm size they all should work? I'm also using polarizer filters with my setup as long as I stick with the same size as my ND filters.
