I live in a small town and my gym is part of a members-only facility that also serves as a social club. It's expensive as hell at $250/month and the gym is small and has that same spa-like vibe you mentioned. However, it has two restaurants, a salt water pool that's open year round, cold plunge, hot tub, sauna, luxury showers, spa treatments, and lots of social events. I can basically spend my whole day there; workout, shower, eat, work/study. I do miss the energetic vibes of my much bigger, much less swanky gym where I used to live, but I've just decided that the cost is worth it for everything I get out of it. I'm moving soon and will miss having the access (though I'll love having that money back in my pocket every month) but I agree with you. Sometimes the pretentious vibes are a bit much but as a 30-something with no kids, it's an expense that's worth it for this particular phase of my life. Thanks for giving us a look inside Bequinox!!
100% accurate. If you want to hit the treadmill, stretch and use the sauna/showers in luxury, it’s great for that. But you can do the same damn thing for $20/month at a lot of basic gyms.
I liked the video because I feel you’ve been fair, stating valid points without trying to ruin their business. It’s also great you got to experience different equinox gyms and some stood out positively like the one in Vancouver. I had a membership for the one in Toronto which I liked & signing up I guess the exclusivity aspects is very appealing to us most but yeah keeping up with that life style especially during the pandemic wasn’t worth it so I used that as a reason to get out of my contract. Plus the equinox in Yorkville is cute but for the price it’s smaller than the other ones, you don’t even get a pool. If you live in a condo you definitely have all the gym equipments you need plus a spa like experience to go with it. So I’m sticking to that for now. Will I ever go back to equinox, maybe… why not? It was an overall great experience having those different classes, the app to help you book, the newsletter, nutrition guidance and food right after your sessions! But Definitely not for $500 tho! NY prices are insane! Lol P.s- Kels you keep on saying you are broke while making this video with behind you 3 extremely high end and expensive tequila bottles worth $300 each if I’m not mistaken. 😅 Girl you ain’t broke, you can afford Equinox membership fees just fine! I loved this video! If they had Equinox where I live, you just made me want to join it for the sauna, but then I would have three gym memberships. Right now I go to a small gym (all weights, one treadmill and a ski machine) for my strength training, and then I have a membership at the community rec centers in the county next to mine, because they have lap pools, and it was only $200 or so for the entire year.
There’s an Equinox that opened a few years ago near me, and I thought about joining when they had founding member rates. But I love my Burn Boot Camp far too much to actually use Equinox enough. So I keep a $20/month for my second gym in case I want a treadmill session from time to time. It’s not bougey, but it gets the job done! On a daily basis Burn is my go to because I need classes to push me haha, and I love how they program their workouts so I am actually rotating through strength and cardio without having to think about it. I bet I would love Barry’s, that’s def my type of workout. But it also might kill me. ☠️ But I feel like places like Barry’s w awesome trainers and a great vibe is worth the price, whereas the classes at places like Equinox are just so so as you experienced.
I've never been to an Equinox, but I was a member of Third Space in London which is almost the same thing (even down to the colour scheme). I feel like the thing that made Third Space better was I was able to actually book on to a class, (although it was the same thing with the Yoga classes, you really needed to book them within the hour they were released). With being able to book onto to the classes, I'd say it was worth the money. If it was like you said, and you couldn't get on to any, I think I would have lost it.
This is why I swear by the YMCA hahah. I work out next to 83 year old Jim who cheers me on when I lift weights. Oh and Margie invites me to water aquatics every day. I do bootcamp with 3 other people and Zumba with 2... Always get a class and usually it turns into free personal training lol. I usually have the entire gym to myself. Everyone is a level of kind I didn't know existed and It's like 50 bucks a month. Oh, I can swim too baby! It's a hidden gem hahah
No reason for Bequinox to sue you. Sure, you called it snobby, but there are lots of things that I love that others call snobby, and it doesn't make me love those things any less.
Keltie is FOR THE PEOPLE!! I couldn't agree more with you, was so disappointed with Equinox Vancouver after hearing all the hype it's overrated in my opinion. Love the rawness/ransparency!! You're saying what were all thinking haha
In the late 2000s in NYC, I went back and forth between NY Sports Club to Equinox. I liked Equinox most for the location, as it was up the street from me. Yes 10-15 years ago, but so,e things are still the same. While it was not snobby or unfriendly, the sales pitches to upgrade were so annoying. Upgrades for personal training, spa services, clothing sales, etc. I hated that more than anything, to the point of pulling a Karen and speaking to the manager (not a thing at the time) to tell them to stop calling me about stuff. Also, their machines didn’t have personal tv’s-you had to watch the main one and hope whoever was in charge of the remote didn’t want something lame. Their locker rooms and spa services were lovely, but not enough to keep one there. You’re right about classes, many were hard to get into, and also at bad times. I went back to NY Sports and stayed. The locker rooms were not as fancy, but it was fine. And a lot less $$.
ITS THAT MUCH MONEY 🤯I just do the odd group class there so have never looked into the gym membership THATS INSANE 😵 but then again it is the most beautiful gym I’ve ever seen 😂 will catch me there at Pilates, not the gym 😂
I love my equinox! But mine is less expensive then this one? And I've never had trouble getting into classes, which is what makes it worth it to me. Also, being there feels like a little treat.
I used to go to equinox in NYC (taking a break to focus on financial goals lol) but I loved it! I had the multi gym membership because there are sooo many locations around the city and it was fun trying all the different ones. Main thing I liked is I could always find an open squat rack and all the other gyms by my apartment in new york are really dirty so i appreciate how clean it is haha that being said I've def seen some of the snobby side and I had a terrible experience with a trainer. also I feel like for such an expensive gym, they nickel and dime you to pay even more for extra things.
While living in NYC 🗽 I was a Equinox member for over 6 years. No, I’m not rich 🤑 I basically use all the different coupons available. Got a discount from work, I also got another discount from my insurance. fYI some insurance plans cover part of your gym membership. Overall my experience was very pleasant. I have access to all the equinox gyms in around city and save so much money on spa, and beauty products. If I had to paid full price I’ll still join the gym, but that’s because I’m a gym 🐀 and gyms have always been my happy place. I left NYC in 2020, and there’s no gym currently where I live, but the only things I miss from Nyc is the gym and the food.
You’re so fun as always ❤ I go to equinox in LA and I think it’s worth it. I do come in with a cheap white shirt and no brand black shorts. I like it coz I’m in and out and no one bothers you. I agree it’s pretty humiliating to film and the men talk a lot to another men which works out for me lol the girls too are pretty nice. Also it’s clean compared to other gyms in LA. I’m still looking for another gym less par but clean and enough equipments with towel but no luck…
Keltie doing spy work now lol (I'm so sorry you've spent so much money though)... thanks alot for the due diligence and info as i was looking forward to this, in Chicago we have quite a few equinox gyms but i couldn't understand why the price tag was like half my rent.... I'm the same in the sense that you like going to gyms were folks are actually training hard (btw them bro-science clips haha)..... well for other gyms you could try LA Fitness/Esporta (they're the same so not sure why the company split under 2 brands/names)
You should go to lifetime! I love it! Everyone’s so nice. It’s more families and friendly people. I pay $280 in Miami though 😅 but I go 6x a week lol. It’s worth it for me. They have some insane locations too! And they have $50 day passes. Definitely try it for a day just to experience it!
I think the main reason for these expensive gyms is for the people who want to be left alone. Either it’s actors who need a place to workout or high end lawyers and bankers who want to avoid clients.
I'm in my 30s and DON'T have kids and I still can't afford that for a gym membership 🙃 I pay $30 and have access to all classes. I always enjoy your videos!
I was a Equinox member for two years when I worked three blocks away. Loved it! Nice staff, beautiful locker room. Yes it’s expensive, yes I’m now hooked on Kiehl’s crème de corps, yes there are people with the most expensive shoes-bags-outfits, and yes I had to sign-up for classes right at launch 🚀 time in order to get in. But I loved it. Hands down my favorite class was Precision Run! If you love it, it’s worth it.
As someone who tried their 5 day trial (or something like that) a while back, I completely agree. While the facilities were VERY nice, I really hated the environment. If felt like interacting with anyone or just making any noise was forbidden. It was mostly silent the few times I went, everyone was in their own zone, and I think I remember signs telling people to not talk on their phones/quiet zones on the treadmills and such. For me, the whole point of going to a gym is for the community that you get there that you can’t get at home. Otherwise, you can save the money, and use free tutorials on RUclips, run outside, buy a few weights (for less than the membership would be over a few months), and make it work. It’s also possible that it had to do with the location (greater ny suburb) with Wall Street people who just want to get in and get out as quickly as possible. Maybe if I had tried some of the classes I would’ve liked it more.
The one in Boston used to have some pretty solid, intense classes. I was in great shape and I could barely get through the advanced athletic conditioning class. I still have PTSD from My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark hitting the first drop (warmup ended and it was time to sprint). I left before the plague, but *ALLEGEDLY* all of the good coaches left or were let go. From what I've heard it's watered down now there as well. So classes are area and coach dependent I guess?
I’ve got to be honest I love going to the fancy one in NYC. I train 7 days a week and commute and it’s my home away from home. Yes it’s expensive but for me given how much I go, it’s worth it. I even gave my dad a guest pass while he was visiting and even he agreed haha.
I have the equipment at home to do workouts I love, but I signed up for a premier Lifetime Fitness in my area just before covid in my area, mostly for the sauna/steam/jacuzzi. I thought I should workout here if I'm paying $150/month. Nice facilities, for sure, never did any classes and ended up doing what I would do at home, because yeah, my favorite. Covid shut it down and I realized I really don't need to pay money and take the time to drive somewhere where I don't talk to anyone to do the same workout I do at home. But I do miss the hot tub/sauna/steam room. It's ALMOST justifiable just for that....
Former member of Equinox West Georgia (the one in the video); i cancelled my membership after 4 years of really enjoying the place but unfortunately, after pandemic, seems people realized they wanted to workout and it became impossible to use any equipment at all; pack with people all day (tried different times of the day), you had to basically wait for your turn to use anything. Forget about having a proper routine workout, you had to keep changing and adjusting based on what was available to use, and most of the time, there was NOTHING free. On top of that, some PTs, were the worst, they had the tendency to “reserve” equipment for their client even when they were not using it.
Are you SERIOUS? My gym has all of this: sauna, lessons, the best looking fitness area, different areas, a bar and a swimmingpool, a whole boxing ring. And i pay 32.- EUROS a month!!! This is crazy!!!
The main reason I'd join a gym is for more flexible pool times than lap swim at a high school, so Equinox would never be for me but it was a very entertaining video! I hope/think they'll let you keep coming because it's honestly great advertising.
Just moved to Van. Funny that this vid popped up on my feed as I'm trying to decide between either Equinox or this new gym opening in the fall called Altea active.
You defs went to the bay location, I go to Yorkville location and it’s amazing! Everyone is working out, not too quiet and not loud or busy like the GoodLife. Well worth the 240$ a month
So the EQ classes in NYC - so it used to pre-pandemic be impossible to get into some classes, but now it's much easier (maybe everyone is staying home) but now it's easy. But if you want to get in, set an alarm 26 hrs plus 2 minutes and you def can get in!
I live in the boonies, but a part of me wishes I had one close by just for the sauna part. Where I live it’s all beat up equipment and grunting, and I love it, but sometimes I’d like the bathroom to have kheil and group classes. However my membership is less than 500$ for the whole year so I guess I could try to just find a sauna pass elsewhere
Ohh i think i would love equinox 😂. Quiet, no one talks to you bc they r too busy thinking about themselves, new equipment, nice bathrooms, good products, sauna. Sounds perfect.
Haha, I’ve been going to equinox in Newport Beach (orange county, California). I pay $190/month. Quickest way to make friends and make it feel like ur home gym is go to one class consistently. Usually the spin classes. Lol
My gym is 180 a month(usd) for a couples and 120 for singles. Family is 220 but we have indoor pools, outdoor pool, unlimited classes, dry sauna, wet sauna, free toiletries including tampons and pads, all sorts of training spaces. And there are cheaper gyms in the area but it is pretty common to be in that price range where I live in Maryland.
The Equinox gym in my workplace building, Commerce Court Toronto, looked like a really big condo gym from the advertisements. I had the best gym ever, Crunch in the Aura Building, for $10 a month: sauna, steam rooms, great showers, functional strength area, classes, cardio etc... Stupid pandemic closed it down
There's an equinox in the financial district of San Francisco. The financial district meaning traders banks corporations, International law firms etc. it had the same snooty horrible vibe, Atmosphere and reputation.
literally true. had a membership for a while because my company paid for it. many go there, take their work suit off just to put on muted yet trendy workout suit and continue to be on slack and emails. i was always amused by the only two group of people that comes in: office workers and entertainers who want to feel athletic. not really for those who actually has a life in sports. also analysts and grunt level bankers and lawyers rolling in with affordable cars, then influencers rolling in with their bmw was always interesting haha and i found after quitting that i can find saunas elsewhere.
I don’t know how people can justify spending this much on a gym when you don’t own any of the equipment and there are still other people there 😭 like how
Hi Keltie, I have been watching your videos for a year(?) and love your content because you give reviews of places like Equinox... ALLEGEDLY. FYI, I am paying Singapore dollars $172 per month for Fitness First in Singapore and it does not even come close to the quality of Equinox machines and weights! So do count your blessings! HOWEVER, I am allowed to use any Fitness First outlets in South East Asia with no extra charge. And I manage to get to the classes pretty easily (probably because there are 15 outlets in Singapore itself).
I came for the equinox video but I stayed for the tequila. Your taste is excellent! Casamigos anejo for the day-to-day, and Clase Azul for the good days!!
Ok also!!! Not burping is called crycopharangeal dysfunction! It can be “fixed” with Botox to the throat. I’ve never burped either lol we are ~precious~
I have a friend who is a member of the equinox in vancouver. She signed up at a low point of her life (hoping it would be a pick-me-up) and regretted it. (She can afford the money, but it's neither walking distance from her home or her work so rather inconvenient. She likely has to pay for parking).
Your videos are always so interesting and entertaining! Thanks for putting out such fun content! Had to comment on this one because of the burping comment, though...lmao i thought i was the only one!! lol i've tried to explain to my bf many times that i just physically don't/ can't burp and he doesn't get it. glad i'm not the only non-burping unicorn out there 😂
I would never pay $500 a month for that gym HOWEVER the Equinox+ App for $40/month is 100000% worth it. You get access to Soulcycle classes, Pilates, yoga, Tom Brady’s TB12 stuff, and more. I get it just to do the soulcycle classes on my bike at home and I love it.
Equinox, please don't sue Keltie. Been scouring the internet for info on this branch and this video helped me decide that I should come in and have a look-see. I would pay this price for a no-gruntings, no-bangings, dimly lit, spa-quiet workout space. (EDIT: Yikes, terrible reviews regarding overcrowding. Nope, will not even consider it.)
@@KeltieOConnor Also can not burp. Also get PAINFUL hiccups instead from the pressure. Have read that botox to your esophagus can help. Want to try it and report back?
We have one Equinox in my area and apparently it is like thr lowest budget version (it's in Carlsbad, CA). I've generally heard good things and IMO $128 for Vancouver isn't terrible! I mean a Steam Room, I would almost consider it for that alone.
Most Equinox in Toronto and NYC are more like $185. There are only a few "premium" locations for $500 that are really not that much better than the normal ones and not worth the extra money.

Loveeee this kind of content. The allegedlys made me crack up!
I love making it! So music to my ears
I laughed so hard at that “Bend … and snap!”
No reason for Bequinox to sue you. Sure, you called it snobby, but there are lots of things that I love that others call snobby, and it doesn't make me love those things any less.
It's the filming inside.
You guys look like the same people
this video isn't really related to me BUT you're very entertaining!! hope you won't get sued
And a lot less $$.
girl talk about the price of house concepts!! $650 a month and you’re limited to open hours only to workout😮💀
Come to the Equinox NYC Hudson Yards - I can guest you in on weekdays
YES PLEASE!!! I want to try it so bad HAHHAHA
too crowded, lol. I'd say my favorite, but I don't want to spoil it. ;)
Lmao as an EQX trainer (allegedly), this video is very accurate! 😂
I left NYC in 2020, and there’s no gym currently where I live, but the only things I miss from Nyc is the gym and the food.
pls do a video on 75 Hard! I'd love to hear your thoughts and experience
Glad someone recognized the bro science hahha! Was nostalgic old school RUclips looking for that haha
The Equinox near me in Dallas always has class openings on the same day…but we don’t have a sauna 😢
This is crazy!!!
you should avoid foam rolling your IT band, it's supposed to be tense, that's how it keeps your hips safe
How were you able to get out ofcthe 1 year contract? Usually gyms like these give you havaoc and elimiate their customer service you are stuck
The main reason I'd join a gym is for more flexible pool times than lap swim at a high school, so Equinox would never be for me but it was a very entertaining video! I hope/think they'll let you keep coming because it's honestly great advertising.
Wait you can’t go to different locations if you are an equinox member? You have to cancel Toronto just to go join in Vancouver??
Just moved to Van. Funny that this vid popped up on my feed as I'm trying to decide between either Equinox or this new gym opening in the fall called Altea active.
Ooo I want to check out that new gym too!
@@KeltieOConnor I just signed up with Altea I'll say hi if I spot you there
You defs went to the bay location, I go to Yorkville location and it’s amazing! Everyone is working out, not too quiet and not loud or busy like the GoodLife. Well worth the 240$ a month
Love the way you edited this video!
Bahahahahah!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I am a lawyer and highly recommend the use of the word “ allegedly.” Also, “approximately.”
So the EQ classes in NYC - so it used to pre-pandemic be impossible to get into some classes, but now it's much easier (maybe everyone is staying home) but now it's easy. But if you want to get in, set an alarm 26 hrs plus 2 minutes and you def can get in!
Plese please pleaseeeeee do a review of different workout spots in Vancouver 😂 you've got the best reviews!
I believe the tall red heads name is Matty? Super nice.
I like how the one time you don't say allegedly is when you're talking about lying to get out of the contract
i love these types of videos hell yeah
I had so much fun making it! So glad you enjoyed it ☺️
The red headed trainer’s name is Matty & he is indeed the sweetest !
The parts with BroScienceLife thrown in 😂😂😂 I haven't thought of his channel in YEARS!
The NOSTALGIA
Ohh i think i would love equinox 😂. Quiet, no one talks to you bc they r too busy thinking about themselves, new equipment, nice bathrooms, good products, sauna. Sounds perfect.
1:14 That is the perfect undercover disguise. For a minute, I thought that was Chloe Ting. 😁👍🏾
Beautiful job great work buddy ❤
Haha, I’ve been going to equinox in Newport Beach (orange county, California). I pay $190/month. Quickest way to make friends and make it feel like ur home gym is go to one class consistently. Usually the spin classes. Lol
Ok I need to try this one!
@@KeltieOConnor if you come to California, in OC I can guest you! This equinox is the one of the nicer ones too!
I'm sorry did you say there's only 1-5 squat racks? For 200 bucks I expected better.
We need more gym reviews
My gym is 180 a month(usd) for a couples and 120 for singles. Family is 220 but we have indoor pools, outdoor pool, unlimited classes, dry sauna, wet sauna, free toiletries including tampons and pads, all sorts of training spaces. And there are cheaper gyms in the area but it is pretty common to be in that price range where I live in Maryland.
Not me literally doing 12-3-30 while watching this video 😂
Amazing HAHHAA
The Equinox gym in my workplace building, Commerce Court Toronto, looked like a really big condo gym from the advertisements. I had the best gym ever, Crunch in the Aura Building, for $10 a month: sauna, steam rooms, great showers, functional strength area, classes, cardio etc... Stupid pandemic closed it down
Come to Calgary! I’ve never been to a gym I didn’t like
I FINNIALY FOUND UR YT CHANNELLLL OMGGG I got a new yt acc and I forgot ur name well yt acc AND FINNNALY STUMBLED OPIN U 😭😭😭❤️
IM SO HAPPY ER ARE BACK TOGETHER!!🩵🩵🩵🩵
There's an equinox in the financial district of San Francisco. The financial district meaning traders banks corporations, International law firms etc. it had the same snooty horrible vibe, Atmosphere and reputation.
literally true. had a membership for a while because my company paid for it. many go there, take their work suit off just to put on muted yet trendy workout suit and continue to be on slack and emails. i was always amused by the only two group of people that comes in: office workers and entertainers who want to feel athletic. not really for those who actually has a life in sports.
also analysts and grunt level bankers and lawyers rolling in with affordable cars, then influencers rolling in with their bmw was always interesting haha
and i found after quitting that i can find saunas elsewhere.
You were so entertaining the tire video🎉
I don’t know how people can justify spending this much on a gym when you don’t own any of the equipment and there are still other people there 😭 like how
I definitely can't justify gym membership when I have a treadmill at home. Maybe some day as I do like saunas, and I miss the rowing machine.
The allegedlys had me rollingg😭
I came for the equinox video but I stayed for the tequila. Your taste is excellent! Casamigos anejo for the day-to-day, and Clase Azul for the good days!!
Appreciate the insider info
im from edmonton too
Ok also!!! Not burping is called crycopharangeal dysfunction! It can be “fixed” with Botox to the throat. I’ve never burped either lol we are ~precious~
Well today I learned LOL
This was hilarious 😂 … allegedly
Except I thought of writing that but then saw others did the same 😂
What if holly from the office was a youtuber? And voilà. Really fun video lol
I so relates to this. The same experience in NYC. Never again 😂😂😂😂
I have a friend who is a member of the equinox in vancouver. She signed up at a low point of her life (hoping it would be a pick-me-up) and regretted it. (She can afford the money, but it's neither walking distance from her home or her work so rather inconvenient. She likely has to pay for parking).
Thanks for sharing!!!
I love crunch fitness. very size inclusive! with classes, very cheap and I can cancel at any time. :)
When keltie posts on your first wedding anniversary with your husband 🤭❤️ best day evarrrrrrr
There is a gym near me in Scottsdale called Life Time- 500 a month. What in the world!? Expensive sweat
Your videos are always so interesting and entertaining! Thanks for putting out such fun content! Had to comment on this one because of the burping comment, though...lmao i thought i was the only one!! lol i've tried to explain to my bf many times that i just physically don't/ can't burp and he doesn't get it. glad i'm not the only non-burping unicorn out there 😂
First ?? Look forward to ur vids all week love uuu ❤❤
WOOHOO!!! 🏆 thank you for being so early shirmayi🩵
@@KeltieOConnor ❤❤
I love all the allegedlies! 😂 It's also making think of an... ostrich? Iykyk
Wait what….170$ isn’t as much as I expected. I pay 370$ to go to lagree west each month and it’s JUST Pilates classes
Love you Keltie!!!!♥️
ILY!!!🩵🩵
I experience singular violent hiccups instead of burps 🤣
OH MY GOD IVE HAD THOSE!!!! I feel seen HAHAHA
@@KeltieOConnor Also can not burp. Also get PAINFUL hiccups instead from the pressure. Have read that botox to your esophagus can help. Want to try it and report back?
You are funny and entertaining! 🤣👍
We have one Equinox in my area and apparently it is like thr lowest budget version (it's in Carlsbad, CA). I've generally heard good things and IMO $128 for Vancouver isn't terrible! I mean a Steam Room, I would almost consider it for that alone.
Ive always wondered about the Equinox in Carlsbad. I see it when i go to the Loftys coffee shop
As a personal trainer at Equinox. I can agree with some of these statements LOL it's not for everyone!
Nice video. where is the black hoodie from
Most Equinox in Toronto and NYC are more like $185. There are only a few "premium" locations for $500 that are really not that much better than the normal ones and not worth the extra money.
