Keltie , you just treat every single person with such respect and curiosity without lessening yourself or trying to please anyone, in whatever world you choose to dive into. That is so admirable and you always make me want to better myself.
The box looked like it was on the 24" side which IMO is pretty advanced. I'm seeing lots of comments about being afraid of box jumps and we can always use a lower height until they feel more comfortable! Anyways, so interesting seeing the first impressions from each athlete's perspective, and the meals too! I think we all tend to get into fitness bubbles and forget there are other ways to approach it.
Omg, I gasped when you hit the box. I did CrossFit for like 6+ years and I haaaaaated box jumps for this reason. I only started doing them when I could do them on soft boxes. Good for you; the WODs can seem intimidating for sure.
I just got CHILLS!!!! 🩵 Nothing says former athlete like over-achiever as you clearly are taking on so much! So beyond happy you could have the perspective to see how it was effecting your athletic performance! Doesn’t happen overnight but when you get to the place that you simply eat & move because it’s what feels good, there’s a whole exciting life after that ☺️ excited for you to truly experience it!! 🩵
I would love to see this series done with a powerlifter!! I couldn’t help but notice a ton of similarities between your nutrition as a runner and mine as a powerlifter - intra-workout candies included lol. 2 completely different sports but the nutrition was extremely similar
Would you consider making a video about how you felt after being a retired college athlete? As one myself, it was a tough adjustment and I would love to hear your perspective on it! :)
I think she actually does have an older video where she talks about this! I can't quite remember how old, but this is definitely a topic she talked about in her older videos.
Agreed. Honestly, that transition is so difficult, especially if you can't find a league to keep playing the sport. I'm not sure about you but I found going to the gym so hard because I was so used to coaches telling me what exercises to do, when to do them, when to push harder ect. I've been trying to find more content for that transition between intense athlete to not as much. So big fan of your question
I second this! I am new to this channel and am a former colligate volleyball player. After I graduated college, COVID hit, and I've felt so lost and not sure how to exactly go about maintaining my athletic side. I relate to these comments so much and agree about finding the gym difficult since there is no set plan of someone telling me what to do. If anyone has a link to the video topic mentioned please let me know. Glad to hear I am not the only one out there dealing this transition as well.
Kelti… I don’t think I have ever heard you say f@&$ ! That was so funny!! I love it. 😂❤ I’m literally going thru all your videos atm. I love them and what you do. THANK YOU 🙏🏼
Love your vids, glad you’re finally trying CrossFit… except the best part of CrossFit is the community so seeing you do a class with an actual certified coach and members would be cool! It’d give you the full experience. Maybe take a class with her so you can show how modifiable it can be for a beginner vs experience athlete! (If you wanted to expand after this video!) just my thoughts, entertaining as always, Keltie!
I loved watching this. I did CrossFit for my strength workouts because my assistant coach was a CrossFit coach while doing intercollegiate cross country.
Such a fun and interesting swap! 🏃♂💪 Loved seeing how a runner tackles Crossfit and vice versa. The dedication to embracing each other's routines is both entertaining and inspiring! 🔄👟
Ugh I just did box jumps today and also hit my shin! Luckily I was wearing long pants so it didn't start bleeding but I can already feel a big bruise forming.. Hope you recover quickly! And awesome video :)
Loved this! I am a weightlifter and cardio is rough. Especially after my bilateral knee surgery. Cleared to run but it's so intimidating. Can lift heavy but running to me is scary. The interval run is something I am going to try. Thank you for the motivation ❤
This is so funny because I did crossfit for probably about 5 years, but in my first 2 weeks going there I literally did the exact same thing doing box jumps and will forever have a scar on my shin 😂
Omg Keltie I love how FUN your videos are. And honestly how relatable you are during them. Thank you for continuing to provide relatable, fun, entertaining content. You truly inspire me to be the best version of myself. 💕
i knew that was comin with the box jump. im always squeamish when someone does a box jump. i feel like i would just break my legs or something on them. hope your cut heals fast!
I work out at a Crossfit gym with a personal trainer and focus on weight training and powerlifting only. I love your friend's shoes...what brand are they...I can't tell. I ❤️ the Crossfit community and even though I don't do classes, my gym has been an AH-MAZING environment for me. I've been there 3.5 yrs and have lost 75 lbs.
Actually Parmesan is not vegetarian. Its normally made with lab (enzyme) that was extraced from baby cows. You can inly found a few one made with lab from bacteria
omg i viscerally felt that box jump injury. I scraped up my shin (Thankfully just a brush burn, no blood) once and from then on only jumped up on cloth padded blocks.
The second I saw your first jump, I thought about how I always hit my shin when we had to jump on the balance beam in PE - ouch.. But how come, no one teaches proper rowing form in gyms 😅
I wish I could do cross fit, but I can only lift up to 15 pounds before my shoulder starts having pain for some reason, so I just have a little peloton and love it!
Another great video! I always flip between whether I’m a runner or CrossFitter after starting both many times, This video has really inspired me to try again at CrossFit, seeing your vulnerability even though you are already extremely fit, made me realise every one feels the same when doing something not routine to them, and you also have confirmed my box jump fear is warranted 😅. Carly’s great also, are there any links for her socials/channels 🫶
Been doing CrossFit five years now…she put you onto some tough stuff immediately - that box is too high for a first timer, and I agree that it looks like a 24” box which is even higher than the prescribed box height for women. Really sad to see you get injured there, and hate that that will just give fuel to viewers who already think CrossFit is dangerous. It isn’t, your friend just wasn’t being responsible with you. Same thing with the weight on the bar for those early cleans, it was too much (she should have known that immediately), and I don’t personally think you guys spent near enough time on the technique of that move. Again, leaves the door open for folks to say we do everything with bad form - and again not true. Lots of other stuff I could say (lol having you do strict banded pull ups for a full minute with no further guidance), etc., but I’ll stop there. I know you did a 30-day CrossFit challenge in the past (which you found hella hard to keep up with due to lots of travel as I recall). If you decide to do any more CrossFit in the future, please work with a proper coach, a proper schedule and proper intent. Hard to see it just be a punchline here. I say this as long time subscriber who loves your videos and loves your energy.
So true.. I was thinking all of the exact same things, unfortunately. (Not to mention the snatch being called a jerk. But that’s neither here nor there lol)
As always, love your content 💗, hope your shin is okay! Be careful with parmesan cheese, it's not always vegetarian, it typically contains rennet, which is extracted from the stomach lining of the slaughtered calf.
Watching this video having an extreme case of FOMO haha!!! also, if I have any powdered supplement, I pretty much always drink it concentrated, because I forget it's there and before lifts, I don't like a bunch of liquid in my stomach. And yes, I do this with protein shakes too, because I don't like too much volume at breakfast This was so fun!! thank you
Check @r_mcgregor on instagram! She’s a registered dietian that is an expert on nutrition for runners & endurance athletes. She’s where I get all my fuelling facts from ☺️
Cool seeing you throw some weight around, if your interested in more crossfit material you should checkout Noah Olson... For the winter i'm planning on switching to 4 days of weights and 3 cardio so ironically your plan might work (i'll stick to vo2 max though lol).... Side note you hit the nail on the head with your last podcast, thanksgiving in America is all about family, food, and football haha
Parmesan is not vegetarian, I'm a bit confused that she ate that. I wouldn't be able to do a box jump at all. My respect for trying it. Hope your leg heals well.
@Sadie Puleo I know that. But cheese doesn't equal vegetarian. Parmesan requires rennet and is therefore not vegetarian, can't ever be cause the name is protected. Same goes for Grana Padano or Pecorino Romano, Camembert de Normandie , Gorgonzola, Gruyère etc., they are not vegetarian.
no offense but I really hope the “crossfitter” girl isn’t a coach because yikes 🫣 making you do 65# cleans and 24 inch box jumps right away… def not smart to make someone brand new to CrossFit do 🤦🏼♀️
Link to the running vest because some people were asking ☺️

Some gym have soft boxes for jumping until you get use to it
Omg, I gasped when you hit the box. I did CrossFit for like 6+ years and I haaaaaated box jumps for this reason. I only started doing them when I could do them on soft boxes. Good for you; the WODs can seem intimidating for sure.
This was classsic washed up athlete 😂 spent so much of my life doing box jumps I was like “I got this”…. Forgetting that life was YEARS ago ahhahaha.
@@KeltieOConnorthat explains your confidence with that height. I was like… why the tallest?! 😂
hi luv u watching this vid with a smile on my face

Yes, there is an old video about it. Try therapy if you need to. All transitions that involve identity are challenging, and a good therapist can help.

I do both - running and CrossFit. That works as well 💪🏽
I love your videos, Keltie! I'm trying to get back into regular exercising (again), and your videos are always entertaining and informative.
Yo this is a great collab. Love to see women supporting wellness in other women ❤
Such a great swap ladies! Nicely done both of you stretching your limits!
13:09 The perfect presentation for all the shin-guard sales reps out there. 😁
This was such a wholesome video

Keltie, we have matching shin scars from doing the same exact thing. I got ten stitches that day lol
Did she say she grated the tofu? And then cooked it?
I might need to try that!
Formal request for a video about cycle syncing for nutrition & fitness experiment 😁
A awesome video on my birthday beautiful day thank you keltie O'Connor for your beautiful job
I have a serious compartment syndrome but I used to run a lot and it loved it so much ! Like to see people running :'D
Battle scars are cool. Nice to see all the meals.

Omg I forgot about the rower 😳
Nooo omg owww

The boxjump scars are real! And they do NOT go away😭😂😂😂
Legit a crossfit badge! My left shin will never be the same!!!
Would love a video on interval runs tbh, I want to be okay with getting into running 😆
Ouch😥 …that cut in the leg😖 This summer I did the exact same thing on both my legs at the same time😮💨😵💫 The pain was horrible!

The take away.... cool vest? Orrrrr stitches??? 😂
I could go hard on the row machine though.... does that count as cardio or weight training??
Forever scared me out of ever doing box jumps 😅

I hope your cut is ok. No running for a while? That looked so painful.
Um sorry to burst Carlee's (?) Bubble but did you know Parmesan isnt vegetarian as it uses animal rennet 😊 14:13
sorry about your leg, immediately I was like, congrats on your CrossFit badge and yes, you need stitches
Bravo Keltie! Rudi.
Thank you Rudi!
Just wondering if u fed a vegetarian really parmesan? like real one? 😅
this did not help my belief that crossfit is lowkey dangerous haha
Eats candy = time to put the pedal to the metal. 😂
Also - the CrossFit c4 snack IS LEGIT.
A very nice job, Keltie!❤❤
Thank you Ervin!!
You’re welcome, Keltie!
Amazing haha
But permasan isn't vegetarian 😢
When you missed your squat jump my heart jumped out of my chest! Squat jumps are not fit the faint of heart!
OMG I felt that. I actually gasped when you hit your shin. wow
Oh damn they should have the plastic boxes, then it is less dangerous when you trip on them!!
Cool
