Any Diesel engine is way too loud for use in the city. Millions of people don't catch their sleep because companies like this one just don't care about noise emissions!

In North America there is a $ 250 fine for using an engine brake in a urban area, as well fines for poor maintenance causing noise and black smoke. Companies wants to go cheap on maintenance and drivers wants to show off on the road... When I was driving in Europe, more than 10 years ago, MAN engines with common rail injection were among the quiets on the road...

Giovanni Baselice I think where this caught up on me was living near a bus route in the city for 4 years. Close the windows and you hear the deep rumble through the walls including resonating floors or walls. On the streets the turbo fan or cooler fans add to the whole noise pollution... once they introduced hybrids that silently take off and didn't need to haul the engines as much to get going changed everything. Such a relief. Again even quiet diesels are pretty loud compared to an electric propulsion of those hybrids.

@@mirandaab972 Lucky me these things will drive themselves sometime with some form of electrical power train.
