This saved the life of a guy that stepped out in front of me. When I stamped hard on the footbrake, it realised and braked even harder. I was doing approximately 40mph but stopped very quickly. I liked the hazard lights coming on, yet maybe the horn should automatically sound to warn pedestrians that are looking at their phones? It was only when I sounded the horn, that he turned to see me and jumped out of the way. I had lots of adrenaline and found it hard to sleep that night. Yet a few days later, I saw the same guy and stopped to say hello. He thanked me and apologised, yet I can only thank you MAN. Bless you, cheers
+relax Thank you very much for sharing your story with us. We are very happy that everyone is doing well. We wish you only the best for the future! And always have a good and safe journey in your MAN. Kind regards, Emely from MAN Social Media Team
@@mantrucksandbuses hey Emely , I am glad I could give you feedback. I drive a 18 tonne TGM for Norman Webb in Chippenham if I can help anymore. I am very happy and content to drive a MAN, it makes my job a whole lot easier. The safety features are amazing; and making sure everyone gets home safely, is more important to me than any delivery. Cheers 👍
I worked on MAN TGX 2019. The truck gives NO WARNING before emergency breakin system activates. When the truck "thinks" that there may happen a collision, it just hits the breaks with such a horrible sound, that the driver can get a heart attack. Everyone who survived a moment of activating of EBS will never let it happen again.
This happened to me today in an older MAN TGS. I was in a city and driving very slowly because there was a construction site ahead of me. One lane had been relocated and warning bars were placed on the sides. The truck apparently thought it was about to collide with one of them, stopped right in the middle of the road, pulled on my belt so hard I thought it would tear me in two pieces and played the loudest and worst warning sound in existence. The truck hadn't even warned me beforehand.
Great technology I use my adaptive braking on tailgaters all the time! worth investing in safety to avoid paying out insurance access for lack of concentration.
Is there a manual overide?. What if u need to escape from a threat & this system stops u dead?. What if u r in some militant infested area and they r blocking the road & u need to plow through?.
Brijesh There is a switch to disable the system however trucks carrying expensive cargo in the uk are allowed to intentionally ram other vehicles causing a threat to them for example they were blocking the road and threatening the driver, the truck driver can ram the other driver to escape without legal prosecution.
TechnoTips Great to know the engineers are smart & not dictated by marketing teams. I have come across many such technologies that have potential dangers & engineers would have solved it but, they never speak about it. Do they think consumers are stupid?. By the way, is that law in UK only for expensive goods? Shouldn't it be common to all as a self defense move? or does this law give more leeway than what's covered in a self defense law?
Well, you see I have a friend who carries around £10,000 worth of cargo at a time. Due to this high amount, the company has been allowed to train their drivers to ram any stationary or moving vehicle causing specific harm towards the driver or cargo on board. However not many companies are allowed to do this due to the dangers it may cause but in this case, the cargo on board is the top priority in the situation that may occur. - Hope this helps.
TechnoTips Yes it does clarify. Looks like your friend has a very important job there!. I do see the justification. But hopefully it will be marked on the truck that's it carrying something important and would have those flashing lights. If not how should any poor chap know a truck with license to ram them is coming?!. Would it be too much to ask what your friend is carrying (I don't want exact specifics but may be just an idea, like is it nuclear fuel or some antique paintings or military stuff or expensive cars)?
Too over sensitive, I have a 2021 tgx and it brakes for parked cars on side of the road or vehicles in the middle turning left it right it's a joke. Snowy or icy weather will be fun fully loaded. Should be able to switch it off for certain road conditions
Hi Dean, thank you for your feedback. We take your feedback very seriously and we will forward your information to our innovation team. Kind regards, Shirin from MAN Social Media Team
It scares the shit out of me when a vehicle slows down 100m in front of me, and the the truck just comes up in a heap with no chance of me controlling it. Truck is a 2018 26.500 which has been generally crap from new..... on my old 2016 26.440 I could switch this shitty EBA off...... sadly MAN have done away with the switch on the later models. It is just plain fucking dangerous, and I bet it wouldn't work at all in a situation where it was really needed.......... 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
This happened to me like few days a go on 05/11/2023 (I have it on video) I was driving behind a truck and I knew there is a traffic jam ahead but I didn't expect at some point that it will suddenly happen so the truck actually did a great job by saving my life avoiding a big disaster that day. Great technology saving people's life! Thank you very much @MAN Truck & Bus ruclips.net/user/shorts74wpo5tUE-U
Doesn't matter how many sensors you have in vehicles, it is designed, programmed and maintained by humans, at any moment it will fail and cause accidents.
The fact that they use real car than inflatable car. was enough proof that MAN emergency brake system is life saver.

i didn’t know MAN makes trucks
I wanna turn mine off, it goes off wen I’m in full control
It scares the shit out of me when a vehicle slows down 100m in front of me, and the the truck just comes up in a heap with no chance of me controlling it.

عملت صيانه للسيرفو وبدلت طرنبة الكلتش
الفرامل لم تعد كما السابق
Super
Yes man emergency brake nice
safety devices like this would also make insurance cheaper
daca faceti la fel si acum cu partea electrica sa se duca firele dupa doi ani scrurturi etc nu va fi bine cu senzori astea
Great
Bring them to the USA
We need this in every car And bus and lorry
@1:21 That’s a scania bus...
Scania isn’t the only company to use that design though 🙄
80km can stop ?
Wow... it took 3 minutes and 36 seconds for me to notice that this was MAN and not Volvo.. xd

Volvo ist besser beim Emergency Breaks ..kommt schneller zum stehen
implement it on ETS 2 ... always there is a fuc*** car spawning in your way when you look for 0.0000001 sec away from the main road -.-
Good, aslong you don't try to flirt to again to bus companies in Norway :)
Game ets 2 saya kok gk ada emergency braking system di truk man nya. Wadoh saya kecewa nih
good but scania and volvo are a little bit better
Doesn't matter how many sensors you have in vehicles, it is designed, programmed and maintained by humans, at any moment it will fail and cause accidents.
Surely overtaking will be corrupted.
Next ets2 update
they can make these technologies, but they cant fix the pathetic seats in man truck, designed for people up to 1.6 meter high.
ft. Neoplan Tourliner
Volvos emergency braking system brakes better.
cbr they dont work
Nope, Volvo emergency break is prone to stopping due to a lamppost or bollard in front - causing confusion to the driver. MAN doesn't do this.
Hahahahaahah. Volvo is sucks
But fails to detect stuff more frequently
Kurzgesatz, Anyone?
there like volvo
all of these are all empty trucks..
try with a loaded truck next time.
Volvo brake is better
Super
