Hogwarts (and crew) react to Episode One of LOST. WE ARE SO EXCITED! Papa Brian is the only one who has seen it! This is going to be fun!
We're finally back! Its been a long road to get here. We've been busy MOVING HEADQUARTERS, acting in plays, writing music, making movies, and traveling the world, (okay, Sleepy Hannah is the only one traveling) but we are FINALLY back in the studio/living room!

Hogwarts, I like your point of view in going into this, looking at interesting instead of likable, because sometimes shows can throw you in directions like "This guy is bad, hate him" "this woman is beautiful, she's one of the good guys" and so on, and this show has the wildest character development with all the characters, out of all shows I've seen. I am so happy!
Yep, interesting is what's ehm... interesting. I don't need to like something to be fascinated by it.

First research the word "Dharma"...and if you guys start doing "good bad" , "white black", "like not like"...you will be frustrated and give up before watching all seasons...it is more like indian folk/myth stories where there is no start or no end and metaphorically saying that life is circular and we can never judge anything as good or bad as there are infinite grey areas between them...
I love that your pointing out all the instances of the numbers; I knew they were all over the series, but you've already pointed out a couple I've missed before.
I missed them too! I'm still finding them where I didn't see them before! I'm sure I'll miss some in the future. You guys will have to call me out on it when I do!

For me it's episode 4 and 5.
Those are the two episodes that really set the very important themes and core feeling of the show, so I'm very much looking forward to that! :)

I always thought the reason the woman said the sound sounds familiar is referencing the one part of the sound which sounds like a taxicab receipt printer (the quieter part that goes chik-chik-chik-chik, chik-chik-chik-chik). At least I'm pretty sure that's where the sound designers got that part of the sound from.

The 23 thousand dollar reward always sounded forced to me. I convinced myself the reason it was such an unusual number was that it was originally in U.S. dollars that were converted to Australian dollars.
Sawyer's nicknames in this episode:
"Abdul" for Sayid
"Al Jazeera" for Sayid
"Brother" for Jack
"Freckles" for Kate
Great reaction. UGH, I LOVE how at the end, when the famous pan-around to Locke's face happens after Walt gets Vincent back, it literally just causes them all to just be DEAD silent. It's such a GREAT, and appropriate reaction to something that is Still just such a CREEPY and fascinating moment. Can NOT WAIT FOR "WALKABOUT" =DD

It's cool he was talking about Rose finding the clicking familiar, I think I vaguely remember one of the producers talking about that sound being sampled from a New York taxi ticket printer from pre-digital days - and of course Rose grew up in the bronx

Fun Fact: The actor who played the marshall that was hauling in Kate was also in the 3rd episode of last season's "Westworld", playing the Colonel who was running the fort that Dolores and her army took over.
His name is Fred Lehne. He's well known for appearing on many shows going back to the 80s. A lot of people remember him as Azazel, the yellow-eyed demon, in S2 of Supernatural, or from a reoccuring role he had in American Horror Story: Asylum.

This is still my favorite series ever and I do love many of the later episodes, but S01E04 is my all time favorite. Its usually the one that get people hooked too. Can't wait to see their reaction to it.
(Locke is the best character ever put on TV).

yes! i think the Sansa meter should be in every series on this channel, it was really great. i also wonder where the puppy is as well

The Locke Meter would be fun, but I don't think I'll ever do it...because her feelings toward Locke don't swing dramatically like her feelings about Sansa did. We'll see how she reacts to that "other" character. ;-)

Wooooo! Haven't check in on you guys in a bit but I'm so happy you guys are doing lost! Lost was my absolute favorite show of all times prior to Games of Thrones, and this is including cable shows. Even now it's still on par with GoT for me personally because I think I'm just in the hype of GoT because it's still airing.
Friday can't come soon enough! Episode 4 is my favorite of the first season.

There r char that u love/hate n then r char with very interesting/boring past.
My fav were Jack n Sawyer but on the basis of interesting past, "scar" wins by miles. Waiting for the walkabout.

In all the years I watched this show I never once even considered that someone might eat the dog. Although now that I heard that it does seem like a logical question for people stranded on an island.
Also, I like Hogwarts’ idea of rating characters as interesting or not vs. like and dislike. Because there are some unlikable characters who are very interesting.
