It's not about fitting into the typical RUclips crowd with you, your channel is a place of calm, informative, makeup bliss. I usually don't go near contour, I just use sheer foundations so I don't have to do much sculpting for that reason, lol. (but if I do contour it's always extremely light)

    • @swankelly
      @swankelly 5 лет назад +4

      @@nefarious69poopi Yeah when I was young before the internet made contour such a big thing, my mom taught me how to use blush to contour. Didn't call it that though. Just said it makes your cheek bone show more. She always had thoes little three color blush pallets. Stroke darker, then medium and light. It's doable with just one color too. Just blend up.
      I used eyeshadow sometimes to give a sharper cheek bone. I do use some bronzer and highlight sometimes now but the way most internet people do it is totally unwearavle in real life.

      Anna N YES PLEASE! I wear powder foundation on a daily basis. It is my go to. I just love how fast it is. I've noticed that nobody does videos on here about powder though: ( Everyone just concentrates on liquid foundation as if it's the only thing out there. Which to me is BS! I watch about 5 different beauty You Tuber's on a daily basis, between them they have thousands of videos up about liquid foundation and less than 3 on powdered foundation😠 I've been asking all of them for months to do powder foundation videos, but I've gotten nowhere. It's funny that I even continue to watch all these foundation videos when I know I'm never gonna use the product. I actually did buy a cpl liquid foundations around Christmas just to try them out and I still don't like them. Powder foundation is way better😆

    • @annan2139
      @annan2139 7 лет назад +1

      Jerilynn86 exactly!! i feel even the most "natural" foundations still feel weird on my face. i know not alot of people are into powders for coverage,dry patches, etc.. but if Tati would give us this tutorial 😃

    • @MarisaAndChew
      @MarisaAndChew 7 лет назад

      +Jerilynn86 do you have oily skin, combo, normal, dry? I love the idea of powder foundation and would love to know what I do wrong, I think it may just be my skin type, I have large pores and get cakey super easy, even if it's just a fine setting powder it can go bad fast for me :( Would love to know how I am doing it wrong or if it's my combination skin!! My favorite liquids are the It Cosmetics CC+ Foundation with SPF 50 and then oddly the Maybelline dream velvet (not the cushion) also works amazing on me. I tend to use IT more in the summer because I am outside more and it has the SPF. I apply with a flat top foundation brush.

    I know people have been clamoring for more tutorial videos but I like these sorts of educational techniques videos better than the "get this look with these products" tutorials. Not only are they more helpful overall, they're more evergreen and will be helpful for years to come. This kind of video puts you more in the class of Lisa Eldridge and Mary Greenwell and less in the class of someone flogging the latest hyped product. TL;DR - keep up the great work!

      One think u can do is buy elf eyelashes and practice with those cause there a dollar then when u are able to do it move up to Ardell and the more realistic looking ones so u don't burn money.

    I love that Tati always wants the best for us 💕 I've never seen a video where they don't go over the top (I've seen people go completely orange before!) and Tati does such a wonderful job of explaining why we should do these steps and how to enhance our look. Most of us aren't using foundations 10 shades too dark or being super crazy, but she's spot on with the blush. I thought just putting it all over my cheek was how it was done for YEARS before finding out that it's not the most attractive. it's just so refreshing to see someone who loves makeup, loves what she's doing, and loves us so much that she never fails to put out high quality content with her viewers in mind. love you Tati!!❤

    • @xsugarplum3442
      @xsugarplum3442 7 лет назад +2

      I think the blush part was very exaggerated but I have to disagree that blush has to be put a certain way for it to look "right". In Asia where I live the craze is either to put the blush on the very middle apple part of the cheek and then blend it out with a matte neutral color or an even newer technique is "undereye blush" where the blush only goes on the outsides of the unders of the eyes....both look beautiful and perfectly "correct", it just depends on face shape and what you are trying to achieve. I have always put my blush in the middle of my cheeks; I think that put in the creases of the face it makes people look older, harsher, and kind of manly. It's also really not where anyone would "flush" if they were naturally blushing so to me it's just not right. Make up has no right or wrong though IMHO, so long as it looks good.

    • @Em-cu4tp
      @Em-cu4tp 7 лет назад

      xSugar Plum I never said anything was "right" so no need to go on a rant! I was talking about myself personally, it looks better where Tati puts it, but thank you for your opinion. just please don't twist my words (-: makeup is art and people do things different! I'm well aware

    • @yvonnerahmes9618
      @yvonnerahmes9618 7 лет назад

      I agree, blush is very personal and the color and where it is placed does not have to be a certain way that most people think appropriate "now." I have seen the undereye blush, and it is BEAUTIFUL- a few runway fashion shows had all the women with it like that. I also like to see it where a person would naturally flush after say exercise. I am surprised to see tan, grey and brownish blushes becoming popular! Not something I have seen before but not without appeal...good comment xSugar Plum!

    I am a new subscriber and I love your content. This "Dos and Don'ts" video helped me a lot because often when I am watching a tutorial I will try to substitute products I have that I think will fit or make do with the tools I have. However, getting a thorough explanation of specifically what NOT to do (and why) makes it much more clear how to improve. I would specifically love to see a Dos and Don'ts of eyeshadow application and blending, as my looks always have harsh lines or patches even when I think I'm following the tutorial diligently. Thank you for all your hard work and your positive attitude.
