not exactly...2010 Spanish players were at their peak and the weaknesses of tiki take weren't figured out yet...in 2014 Spanish players like Xavi were in decline and the weaknesses were figured out...and even though match was 5-1, it was a closer match than the scoreline suggests
Holland didn't need to play the way they did. They had the talent to match the Spanish with the likes of Robben, Van der Vart, Sneijder and Kuyt, plus their defence was better as well, no need to do that at all, they've only themselves to blame.
@killabuffalo I'm not an Arsenal fan, but I do respect what Wenger has done for that club. Even though they haven't won anything in a while, they have managed to stay on top while teams have fluctuated in-and-out of the top 4.
@katherined88 uhm i never said that the dutch didnt play dirty, i just hate it that people think that the spanish played nobly and fair throughout the tournament. people seem to forget certain moments, like against portugal when that player faked getting elbowed in the face and the portugal player got a red card for nothing. i mean how the hell did they win the fair play trophy for that? i think germany should have gotten it since they played the best football this world cup. to bad they choked.
@thebos9999 You don't have to be Dutch to understand that the futbol they played was thuggish and ugly. There is no excuse to play the way they did. With the talent Holland had, they should not have sunk so low.
@katherined88 actually i love it when the germans lose. i just hate them for some reason and love seeing their fans cry. only team i feel no sympathy for. but i know good football when i see it. it wasnt that fact that they were amazing, it was the fact that they were one of the only well prepared team. i mean most teams just sucked big time, most coaches sucked, most players sucked. rather crappy world cup. if this was a normal world cup they wouldnt have been that impressive.
