My dad was the left back in the team and all the way through the 80s with over 350 appearances for villa, amazing memories, I was not born when this happened but could not be prouder

I would give anything to have this team back again, my grandfather played for the villains in the 40's as an outside left but this team on top of the fact that I bleed Claret and blue so be it
Whenever JR was in goal you knew Villa were a chance, to see him go off and young NS jog on and perform as he did from cold was a fantastic testament to two great 'keepers.
Also the fact, Aston Villa ended at 11th at the league table when the team won european cup that season. What a crazy mid table team that was, for its time.
Aston Villa won the league to qualify. Then they won the European Cup and European Super Cup - that is the biggest achievement so far in their history. It doesn't matter about the league position because once safe in the division you can prioritise.
Amazing scenes - that we could achieve such magnificent success, twelve years after slumping disastrously into the Third Division seems unbelievable. From the pits to the pinnacle - a fantastic triumph for the Mighty Saunders. A truly great man and leader who made it all possible.
Love this channel, Up the Villa. Yes, definitely a huge Scouse contribution made to this team. And now you have another Liverpool legend in Steven Gerrard, I was gutted when he left my team Glasgow Rangers, but its working out well for both clubs now
Sadly due to poor club management and lack of ambition, it was all down hill for the next 5 years. After a remarkable 9 year rise from Division 3, that was so disappointing. Apart from some bright spells in the nineties, Villa have massively underachieved. Hopefully under Emery they’re now going somewhere again.
Following season they were totallly swiped off from Euro Cup by the great Michel Platini and the six-world-champions squad Juventus FC , both in Villa Park and in Turin !!
1:30 is where he says it. I can't tell if he's being sincere or not. Initially I thought he was inviting him to their celebratory dinner and it seemed a nice touch.
They never forget notts Forrest but everyone has forgotten Aston villa hmm 🤔 I wonder why ? Ah its cos brian clough is the greatest eh the man who won one littlewoods cup trophy in his final 13 seasons at Forrest 😆😆😆

Simon, I was an apprentice with your dad when we stayed on the Chester rd.Please tell him Terry Wilson says hello.

Jimmy Rimmer...legend. He never let the lads down and had it not been for him, then we probably don't reach the final. What a great team. UTV.
Big respect to the man himself
Ron Saunders built this team over 8 years
These lads deserve a statue of them holding the trophy outside VP. The proudest moment on our history
My dad was the left back in team and it was a great time to be a villa fan even though I was not born up the villa.
@@simonwilliams1732 now they only show statue of foreigners in villa park
Grate moments!!! Champions of Europe!! Thanks again for these videos Villa Boy!

One of footballs great nights, a superb achievement by a historic club.

Great villa team
I have no idea what Tony Morley is saying. What a team. No great players just lots of Very Good ones.
My late great great grandad was a avid Aston Villa fan. He remembers watches it.
Compare to how subdued the dressing room is to 2020 when we just scraped staying in the Premier League.
A very strange comparison to make. This was achieving the pinnacle in club football.
I was there memorable
Amazing times Tony Morley was my hero at 10 years old
A very good team broken up two soon
Was still making my way home ha ha
The little kid on the balcony’s was I believe the currently manager Dean Smith.
The Golden Day of Justice. Only a matter of time before there is another.
How d you send pictures of this to man city

In the days when Italy had the money to financially dope their clubs... it's not impressive.

Love this. Makes it even sweeter with that blue nose prat Gary Newbon trying to put us down 🤣
How nice was Kenny Swain to invite Gary Newbon to his house.

Both Dennis and myself have a mutual dislike for each other. We often stare each other out with the last to blink thinking they are the winner.
Villa 1 UCL !! .. City & Arsenal 0 !! hahahahahahaha
