Holy crap, I've used you/your channel for FreeCAD education. This weekend I offered to do some video editing for my company. I got on RUclips to search for video editing education and before I had a chance I looked on my subscription page and here's your video on video editing, absolutely crazy

Been watching your cad videos for quite some time and glad you did this one as it explains in an easy intuitive manner what how to do things that I have been trying to do with this editor.
    Thanks for this excellent resource.

Many thanks for all the tips. Very useful.
Kdenlive is a KDE project which means it is Linux first and usually available as a package on what ever your distribution is.

Hi Joko - Very nice. One thing, or two. For beginners they do not know anything. So to loose where the pointer is and going to is very important. The problem - The pointer is so small, white and so fast that it disappear a lot of times. So hard to follow. Do not know which operating system you use. In Ubuntu you can change the size to a very nice red and enlarge it. For windows you can Google and find some solutions. Thanks for this very nice video.

I was just starting to edit a new video and the keyframe usage part was very helpful.

Nice tutorial. I recently started to use kdenlive and i did get some few problems:
    - how to add an additionnal track when you already made some editing ?
    - is it possible to output a video with chapters ? (seems to not be possible directly, and i did not find a way to export a list of marker, for the moment)
    - changing parameters for h265 export seems a little tricky.
If you have some hints... I will be glad to take them. Thanks

For your first question, I had good luck with right clicking on a video or audio track (Click the leftmost portion that says V1 or A1 or V3 or such) and choosing insert and it will throw in another track while preserving your work.
For your second question, I haven't used chapters ever, I think that would be cool but I have never done anything like that
I used to do H265 more than I do now. I would go with Render > Ultra-High Definition > H265(HEVC). I would also select custom quality and render a short amount of it to see what quality settings I like vs how long the render is. This H265 worked well for me. I think there is also H265 under hardware accelerated (experimental), but I haven't used the experimental stuff.
      Hope that helps

So I have a big problem that has made me restart my project multiple times. When I try to add any kind of clip after the initial clips I put into the bin at the start will lock the bin and I can no longer move any clips old or new to the timeline. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I have never had that issue personally. What is your OS?

@@JokoEngineeringhelp windows, I've also had Kdenlive lock up and crash on me multiple times. I think it's something in the Kdenlive settings, windows defender, or Alienware/Dell controls. I have no idea but it has happened everytime to me so far, five versions all because I can't move clips from the project bin that have been added after the start, it locks the whole bin so once I've added something new I can't move old clips either. Thanks for responding so fast btw
