I have had a Polestar 2 from Hertz for 8 months and it's an awesome car.

@@billiechung My Audi e-tron (my profile pic), had a crash on January 15 this year and My insurance company allowed me to have a Polestar 2 with Pilot and Plus pack while the car is being repaired. My car will soon be handed back to me.

Great review, thanks. As a current Volvo driver and one who intends that his next car is electric. I have been very interested in Polstar2 since we first saw it. I’m still a couple of years away so will be the newer version may well be mine. My son had a Tesla Y and I’m sure that is a great car to own but too bland for me.

I'm a fan of it's exterior design. I'm glad it still has an instrument cluster in front of the driver.

I would, and did buy one. A dual motor version. I have done 7500k's and absolutely love it. Long term, I am getting between 16 and 17 kWH/100Km ... pretty good IMO considering the power I have on tap. Also, much better than certain other reviewer's claims about the lack of efficiency these cars have.
Is there any other EV I would prefer to be driving? .... Absolutely not. This car is great.
My only gripe is not about the car at all, but the lack of infrastructure when heading out on a trip in South Australia. As ridiculous as it sounds, going from Adelaide to Mt. Gambier and back is easier to do by crossing the border into Victoria!!

Nice. I’m getting my LR RWD delivered here to KI in October. The national charging network is growing fast. I plan on spending next year doing some long road trips to test the network and the car.

That’s great efficiency and I am surprised rice achieved that. I’m waiting for delivery of a sm. Our EV mini achieves just under 16 kw /100km so saying near that is amazing

      @colossus_g Год назад

@@justinking2369 I must admit that when the cold weather hit, my efficiency took a hit as well. I can't exactly remember how bad it got, but it was somewhere in the low to mid 20's. It seems, keeping the batteries in the right operating temperature range chews up plenty of power.

While I enjoyed the drive of the Polestar 2, I bought the Tesla Model 3 in the end. 2 factors that swayed me towards the Tesla was the Tesla Supercharger network (while this is being opened up to other EVs, there is only a handful that have been) and price - the base Model 3 is much cheaper than the base Polestar 2 and also comes standard with a number of features that cost extra on the Polestar. I also preferred the airy cabin of the Model 3.

I just ordered the LR RWD model with Pilot and towbar and it’s going to be delivered to my gate on Kangaroo Island in October/November. Super excited. This car seems to have a soul compared to a Tesla and I love the cockpit and driving experience.

Never been a fan of the Tesla eggs, I do admire the tech. I think this is an actual car and the Tesla is more for techies. (as you mentioned) great review and at the moment in doubt about the dual or single motor version

I considered the PS2 Long Range before I bought my Model 3. I test drove it on a horrible rainy day and I was surprised how slow it was off the line. They didn’t have an AWD Long Range available, so I went for the Model 3 Performance instead. Not just because of the drive train, but also because of the poor Polestar packaging. I’m on a trip now and rented a Polestar 2 FWD Long Range with Plus Pack. No adaptive cruise, 7.5 seconds to 100 is just poo. Also whilst the Android UI looks fantastic, its UX is a real let down. When satnav is on, media isn’t visible, the driver binnacle only shows speed, battery SOC and satnav instructions. My 2019 Model S binnacle has way more customisation. The greatest letdown is the cramped interior, knee and elbow banging are very common. None of that in my Teslas. It’s a pity, because the Polestar looks so much better than the Model 3.

This is already a superseded model, the 2024 model year has been available for order for 2 months already. Despite this model being the same shape as the new one all the specs and pricing are different - why bother reviewing a car no one can actually buy except used or as a runout model?

I will definitely be getting the 24 Polestar 2.
A single guy that stays with in the metro area 99% of the time there is nothing this car does not offer me (that I need)
I dislike the bland design language of the Teslas and the strange Interior.
The Polestar offers great driving dynamics and better aesthetics than most of its rivals.

sent the Brand new car back in 7-8 times with in 10 months,
1, windows rattles noise,(they can get it fixed after 4 times repair attempted then they refuse to repair anymore and said this is the way they design the car)
2, windshield popping noise finally repaired on 4th repair,
3, A or B pillar making Clicking noise, (they can't duplicate where is the noise, no repair)
4, driver and passenger front door frame making popping noise when whether get hot, (they still not able to duplicate the noise, No repair)
5, Brake pad damaged after rain (replace the brake pad)
6, Fan motor making buzzing noise, (we can tell the sound like something inside the motor, but they said noise is because the motor is damp, No repair, at least I don't hear that kind of noise on other car)
7, the Paint is too thin, every easily get damaged by leaf, bird poo etc. and also the headlight lens is low quality too every easily get damaged.
8, you'll Lost internet connection and GPS constantly (I sent the car back in first week due to lost internet, GPS and Bluetooth connection) restart infotainment not helps.
9, infotainment sluggish every time when installed the new updates.
search online for Polestar 2 noise issue, you will see thousands people are talking about it, complaint about it and no space can totally get it repaired, they told most everyone that is the way they design the car, ridiculous, think twice before you purchasing the polestar, And I suggest you test driving the car in the winter time and driving on imperfect road, most of them had noise issues. GOOD LUCK,

Just rented one of these for a couple of days. What a heap of junk. Adaptive CC doesn't work properly. Back hurt after an hour in the seat, seats are absolutely awful. Build quality inside is actually worse than the BYD suv. If you're even marginally tall or have long legs they're awkward, even painful to get in and out of. Your knee hits the piece of plastic that juts out near it. Makes a high pitched whining noise when you accelerate. I noticed it had less than 10k kms on the clock and had already chewed through the Michelin tyres it came with.

'Better' is highly subjective. I'm not saying they do certain things well but I have so many mates with Model 3's who have had horrible experiences with their QA, panel gaps, shoddy quality of interiors, and so on. Sitting in a Polestar feels like you're sitting in something incredibly solid and quality, comparatively.

I do hope that Dictator Daniel will puts extra Tax on EV VEHICLES
There’s a little group of people in Victoria Parliament pushing for Taxes on SUVs and 4 WDs.
    Because they are heavy
Well some Tesla’s are heavier at 2.3 tonnes
    Starting around 1.8 tonnes
Will all theses EVs get TAXED
    I bloody hope so.
