The best way to do big jobs is dividing the tasks up. I am in yard work and garden planting season and I break up my gardens into 20 sections and commit to one a day. Helps keep the overwhelming feels down and I take joy in the accomplishments. Maybe this notion will help LE and Megan as well as they learn to manage the sanctuary property. It is huge overwhelming I have no doubt.
Im definitely a grey goose I’m 60 and still watch out for my kids and grand kids and soon my great grandkids. I’m glad you will have LE and Megan to help with the clean up and fence work it will be a good learning experience on fence repair for them

And with the other two properties, that process is going to be a long one. But as you experienced before, it will all get done eventually. I hope there is some money in the budget to hire at least some help? However, with the expensive pond repair, that may just not be possible. The puppy is so sweet. I have to admit that LE & Megan got it for ISS. However, I'm SMH that they got the puppy. Especially when LE expressed he didnt like large dogs. Thats why Sadie ended up at LHL. Might as well let the puppy get attached to you cause it's just a matter of time before it'll be sent to live at LHL or JL Ranch. No offense Lester it's just how it seems to go.
Kids need to be taught to work for what they have. Love my kids to death, but they work hard for what they have a know how to work for their money nothing is handed to anybody on a platter. I love Lydia! I remember when she first arrived she was left out of the gaggle. I felt bad for her until she began to lead the babies and took the role of teacher and fit in finally.

There are far too many feathered friends already yet there are 2 geese laying on eggs right now. How many more will there be? I guess it's not up to you to decide how many they have. But maybe share your opinion?
I think working in sections is a very good idea. As I've mentioned, I'm cleaning out my mom's home. while others do come to help, it's still more overwhelming if I don't have a plan. Even though I'm retired, it is emotionally draining to go through everything. I can't spend too much time without feeling emotionally depleted. Honestly, I can't understand how anyone would expect the Sanctuary to be back to normal in a small period of time. Keep up the good work.
I'd be overwhelmed and exhausted too if I were you Lester. Summer heat in the south is brutal, and makes things so much more difficult. There's no doubt about it, you need help this time Lester. Can you possibly call your JL fence guy? His crew could knock out that fence straightening project in a heartbeat. That'd be one less project to worry about at least. This would give you some time to revamp the Memorial Garden like you want it, and save some much deserved energy too. Besides, you're injured big guy. Pass the torch. Hugs to all.. 😊
we have a pond, and the geese are starting to bring their new babies up the road so they can learn to eat bugs. the road here is a private vicinity. no fear of them getting ran over. it is fun to see them walk around with their little ones.
It’s still your property so, yes it your business! Not only is it your business but, your responsibility to make sure that the feathers don’t get out of hand and end up disrupting and/or upsetting the rest of the Morrows. Eventually, those feathers will end up all over their properties/ponds as well.
You do know duck eggs and goose eggs are great for baking. And they taste really good. They make great scrambled eggs too and you don’t need to use as many as chicken eggs.
Lester, you need to teach LE & Megan how to do this work also. You have basically given them the land and house, they need to take more responsibility for the upkeep. Now maybe they are doing more than they show. I know you have said not an LE type of video, but if he would show once in a while doing more than playing with the animals maybe people would lay off them. Just a thought.

Wouldn't it be better to show LE how to do the cleanup and how to break it into small sections. After all, he is supposed to be the manager of that property. Children learn best by being shown. He will never feel invested in the property if daddy does it for him. this is not criticism of your boy, it is a suggestion to help him grow. and to feel it is truly his. the best way to teach is here, we will work together, not I will do it for you. You were a school teacher, you didn't do the students work, you showed them how and encouraged them to grow. that is what I am suggesting. Knowing how to fix that fence for example, you know how, but does he? Help him grow.
Ducks, Geese and most birds are pretty BUT, they are nasty to have and kerp. They overpopulated and what a mess. Cleanliness is a must for me with any type of animals.😊

Lester would it help with the fences if you drove a stake or wedge (below ground) when you dig with the post hole digger…then it should stay solid and the concrete will reinforce what the stake is doing. I heard your deep sigh when talking about the ducks and geese. There is such a thing as too many animals. There are far too many feathered friends already yet there are 2 geese laying on eggs right now. How many more will there be? I guess it's not up to you to decide how many they have. But maybe share your opinion?

I think working in sections is a very good idea. As I've mentioned, I'm cleaning out my mom's home. while others do come to help, it's still more overwhelming if I don't have a plan. Even though I'm retired, it is emotionally draining to go through everything. I can't spend too much time without feeling emotionally depleted. Honestly, I can't understand how anyone would expect the Sanctuary to be back to normal in a small period of time. Keep up the good work.

I'd be overwhelmed and exhausted too if I were you Lester. Summer heat in the south is brutal, and makes things so much more difficult. There's no doubt about it, you need help this time Lester. Can you possibly call your JL fence guy? His crew could knock out that fence straightening project in a heartbeat. That'd be one less project to worry about at least. This would give you some time to revamp the Memorial Garden like you want it, and save some much deserved energy too. Besides, you're injured big guy. Pass the torch. Hugs to all.. 😊
we have a pond, and the geese are starting to bring their new babies up the road so they can learn to eat bugs. the road here is a private vicinity. no fear of them getting ran over. it is fun to see them walk around with their little ones.
It’s still your property so, yes it your business! Not only is it your business but, your responsibility to make sure that the feathers don’t get out of hand and end up disrupting and/or upsetting the rest of the Morrows. Eventually, those feathers will end up all over their properties/ponds as well.
Maybe LE can do it since he is now running ISS. He has taken on that responsibility. You and Jamie are just to darn busy.

You do know duck eggs and goose eggs are great for baking. And they taste really good. They make great scrambled eggs too and you don’t need to use as many as chicken eggs.

Lester, you need to teach LE & Megan how to do this work also. You have basically given them the land and house, they need to take more responsibility for the upkeep. Now maybe they are doing more than they show. I know you have said not an LE type of video, but if he would show once in a while doing more than playing with the animals maybe people would lay off them. Just a thought.

Wouldn't it be better to show LE how to do the cleanup and how to break it into small sections. After all, he is supposed to be the manager of that property. Children learn best by being shown. He will never feel invested in the property if daddy does it for him. this is not criticism of your boy, it is a suggestion to help him grow. and to feel it is truly his. the best way to teach is here, we will work together, not I will do it for you. You were a school teacher, you didn't do the students work, you showed them how and encouraged them to grow. that is what I am suggesting. Knowing how to fix that fence for example, you know how, but does he? Help him grow.
Ducks, Geese and most birds are pretty BUT, they are nasty to have and kerp. They overpopulated and what a mess. Cleanliness is a must for me with any type of animals.😊

Lester would it help with the fences if you drove a stake or wedge (below ground) when you dig with the post hole digger…then it should stay solid and the concrete will reinforce what the stake is doing.
