I grew up in collierville(suburb) n the ppl in the suburbs are not scared lol. Memphis is a city of extreme contrast there really isn’t much of a middle. For the most part u r either really poor or very well off. My dad is a dentist so I was fortunate. Like any major city most violence exist in pockets or certain regions with some random exceptions. Growing up the inner city was like an entirely diff world that was completely foreign to us outside of what was on the news. Just like any big city stay away from areas u shouldn’t be in and you’ll be fine.

People I know down there in the suburbs were telling me how they stopped going to malls and stuff like that. But a vast majority of suburbs are definitely safe
