Excellent! I love that you used recycled furniture and it all goes together. You didn’t start with an exact idea, but by being adaptable you ended with something amazing.
The coffee bar is beautiful! Although I think the white areas around the cabinet below should be stained or painted to match the cabinet, which I love. Nicely done, Becky!
While I LOVE the aesthetic and functionality, I’m not sold on the cabinet beneath. Can you hide the legs to make it look built in? It just feels a bit weird floating there. It looks amazing otherwise!
Yea I feel the same way. I thought when they built the platform they were going to remove the legs. The legs are rad though, so it’s tough, but it looks kind of odd though. Everything else is looking great! Though I would have installed lights inside the top cabinet too.
@@michellemorales I was thinking the same thing, I think the lights at the top and bottom make the cabinet so dark inside. Also the box below should just be a cool looking cabinet. The feet feel really off and the feet can’t be cut off because that piece is beautiful
She could maybe enclose the bottom ro hide the legs. I agree that rather than a cabinet, it looks just like a piece of furniture shaved into the space.
@@michellemorales completely agree with you and was thinking the same thing while watching! Even though the legs are beautiful they do feel very off when placed on top of the buttom part. I would hide them with an additional drywall going upwards and might even consider placing some of the same tiles on top of that drywall to tie the bottom to the top and make it look more intentional.
Becky?! Excuse me?! THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING EVER. I’m a professional cabinet maker and we specialize in making these old styled mid century modern pieces, and you absolutely nailed it.
That tile really elevated the project so much! Now I am even more excited to see what you do with the rest of the house, particularly the kitchen because now it's got to be on the same level as that gorgeous coffee bar!
Love it! I would totally build a drop down/hinged toe kick to hide the cabinet legs and serve as more flat closed storage and to make it look built in. Love the lighting, it completes the vibe and makes it feel modern while still being deliciously 70s
I love Becky's style so much. I'll admit sometimes when she's describing a project I'm like "I don't know about that", but she almost always nails it in the end and this project was no exception! Love it!
Becky, I love your style. It is so refreshing to see someone for once transform their house with personality and not just paint everything white and call it "farmhouse chic". Kelsey also did a good job in her house just in a completely different style. I would also love to know how the office backyard turned out over time. Did the groundcover plant work?
The human mind is so amazingly inquisitive. This loose-ends-annoyance is also a big problem in movies, when the audience start wondering about what happened to the baby that was left behind in the commotion or the weapons the protagonist lost on the street.
When you inevitably renovate your kitchen, I’d suggest moving the credenza into another room (could make a great dresser!) and re-tiling the whole floor so you have the freedom to knock down those half walls and put in proper lower cabinetry. The vintage upper cabinet and tile are such a vibe though! Great job making it work with second hand materials!!
Agree on the lower cabinet idea. This is such a creative solution overall but a fitter custom button without the half wall would really put it over the top.
Yes, your style is different from mine and that's why I watch. Having grown up in the 70's, never did I ever think that style would come back into vogue and here you are! The coffee bar is absolutely beautiful. You have great vision for a space.
This is one of the most impressive transformations you've done....I think I like it more than others you've done because it's more functional than just 'design/pretty'. I have no more words, I just love this.
This is SHOCKINGLY impressive. Jaw is on the floor. This is definitely your coolest project yet, I cannot BELIEVE the transformation. LOVE this series, love watching your home come together, and love this coffee bar. Holy crap girl. Big round of applause!!!
I know a lot of people don’t seem to love the bottom cabinet but I really do, it’s a little quirky but I love the style and functionality of, I love how well it goes with the upper, it’s a yes from me for sure
I didn't think I would like the upper cabinet, but between the tiles (chef's kiss) and the lighting it is stunning! What a transformation - you have really upgraded that pantry into a beautiful and functional area.
Wow i love the final result ! However, i do feel like this project could have been a single video, hope you keep that in mind for the future ;) keep up the good work !
Girl, that is BEAUTIFUL. And it feels like it really opens up the kitchen into the dining nook too! Love love love the tiles. If it were my house, I’d have to frame in the bottom of the credenza since I have 4 hair balls animals in the house and I can see the tumble weeds in there now 😂 What about lighting that as well?
It looks great and bringing down the sides opened up the dining area a little more! It makes it much more inviting than just being a hidden corner room, and it allows more natural light to come thru into the rest of the house. Well done 👏🏼
THIS LOOKS AMAZING!!!! You are so talented!! One little hack for the sliding wood-on-wood doors and drawers in the bottom cabinet: Rub all the touching surfaces with wax (literally an old candle will work) and the doors and drawers will slide very softly!
I like the coffee bar so much. A pot filler is aspirational! You have amazing problem-solving skills. The only change I might make is to paint the inside of the space where the bottom cabinet is a darker color to allow it to blend.

Becky this is beautiful 😍 small suggestion, paint the white surround the same color as the tile so that stunning console is more the focus than the starkness of the white. However still a beautiful job well done 🤌💋
Turned out so well !! The lights are for sure the perfect finishing touch. Really well done, Becky. The tile is gorgeous. The cabinets suit the house. Looks like it was always meant to be there.
Hey hon, I loved the makeover. I grew up in the 70"s (and 80's) and your style is making me so nostalgic. It is like I remember but better. Thank God Shag carpet is no longer a thing nor the wall-to-wall wood paneling. Beautiful, contrary to what a lot of folks said I love that you kept the legs visible leaving the original style and beauty of the original piece intact. 😊
Once again, the Sorry Girls game keeps getting elevated. This is one heck of a DIY project Becky took on. Very complicated looking process, but it is so satisfying to see completed. I really like the coffee bar addition & the thrifted pieces you brought together to create a cohesive, customized look is incredible. I love it & I love how it fits into Becky & Austin's unique home style. What was the total for all of the money spent to create this piece?
This project was so fun to see come together! I love that this wasn’t designed on an empty sheet of paper but instead working with and around the materials you found to come up with an absolute gorgeous cohesive design 😍
Becky, you did a great job. I got married and we bought are 1st home in 1972. I had several of the pieces that you have in your home. It brings back so many memories.
It looks amazing!!!! I was a bit unsure of the tile at first but you really pulled it together!! One small thought tho, maybe there's a way to cover the cabinet legs with a walnut board of some sort? I feel like it would look more built in that way and not look like just a sidebar that was placed there. But great job nonetheless!!!
Yes, I was thinking the same thing. I love everything about this, except for the exposed legs. Just looks off. I love the idea of just closing it in to cover the legs. If you used some wood , it would create more cohesion with the dining side while also making the bottom cabinet look built in.
It’s absolutely breathtaking!! Not only is it functional, but it helps bring the kitchen and dining room space together!! I love how the tile turned out and am excited to see more of your spaces evolve.

Becky's style is far from my style but the way she's put things together and made it into a beautiful space filled with the things she loves is gorgeous. I've taken away so many great ideas from this 70's classic style and love everything she's done with it. Great job Becky!!! I've been loving this series.
I love the open clean space under the cabinet, it makes the whole area feel more open and highlights the design. The lights were definitely a crowning touch too.
Becky, you are the definition of 'trust the process'! I would love to hear the Sorry girls talk about the roadblocks and frustrations you have had with various projects and how you have managed to pull through and finish them (or not!) and give the rest of us tips for when you lose motivation.
Love everything except the white box on the bottom I think if that was stained walnut or just made into walnut built in cabinets and took the bottom piece out which is soooo stunning it’d look amazing
I actually LOVE how it turned out!! The colors blend so well with each other and I love the warm vibe it radiates I'm so excited to see if it's functional as you were hoping it to be!!
I love it soooo much!!!! I think the vintage cabinet turned out so much better than built-ins ever would! It looks so beautiful and different and moody and classy and 70s!!! I really really love it 🥰
That lighting is a showstopper! I never realized how much lighting matters. I know, designers are always talking about it but this really shows what a difference lighting makes.
I love this! I may lean toward a different style but regardless I always find so much inspiration in your methods. And the results are just fantastic and so suited to your aesthetic.
The amazing thing about your makeovers is that even if the colour and the specific style aren't your thing, you make it so easy to imagine doing them in a way that is unique for your viewers. Having said that, IT LOOKS SO COOL!!
As a person whose parents bought Danish furniture (when they were in Denmark!) in the 60s, who grew up with and still has Scan mid century furniture and loves it, you nailed it! Ive been using Watco products to refinish and maintain my furniture for decades. It’s a great product (but highly flammable so take care to dispose of rags/sponges very carefully). Overall, design, execution, problem solving, re-using, and final product = A++ EXCELLENT!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! THE TILE COLOR AND SHAPE ARE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING 🤩 I LOVE THE CABINET YOU THRIFTED AS WELL BECKY, IT COULDN'T BE MORE PERFECT FOR THE SPACE... AND THE LIGHTS ARE THE ICING ON THE CAKE! ONCE AGAIN, WELL DONE LADY I LOVE YOUR VISIONS...
This turned out incredible!! It really elevates your space while making it more usable AND the dining nook is more open too! This was by far one of my favorite projects of yours!
Beautifully done, you elevated the area to an incredible visual wall. Also, the Danish oil was the perfect stain to pull it all together. I redid a mid-century modern dresser using the Danish oil and made it a feature wall in my kitchen with acustic wood slat panels behind the dresser with a beautiful mid century modern piece of art . Looks stunning. Love your decorating style. ❤😊
Yay!!! Finally!!!! Been waiting for this ❤ this was absolutely stunning!! Those cabinet lights really brought it all together!!! The glass doors were beautiful as well ❤
It’s stunning, absolutely! ❤ so my style, credenzas so underrated. So many uses, 60’s-70’s beautiful and functional! …not to mention, yet, must, it’s effin WOOD.
The real question is how much counterspace did you end up reclaiming in the Kitchen with all your appliances moved to the coffee bar? :D :D :D Looks awesome and the FUNCTIONALITY is too good
No having your own built in cabinets, looks funny having that cabinet inside that box. Also it’s so much more better to have more storage. Makes the space funcional.
the first five minutes of this video were just recap of part 1, so this video was essentially just over 12 minutes. i love the sorry girls but i don’t understand why we couldn’t just get a 40 minute video instead of these two parts. this has been my sentiment for a lot of these “that 70s house” videos. i really want to see becky makeover her house but am not liking these 2 part videos on one room/project. part one leaves me disappointed/ dissatisfied and that feeling is then carried over when i’m watching part 2 :( don’t be afraid to out out longer videos, long videos are good!
I love the way it turned out!! I think it needs some greenery to offset all the brown/orange tones! Put some plants that hang down on top of the top cabinet or add some succulents to the coffee bar (or both.) I think plants would liven the whole space up and really being all the spaces together! 💗
my fav part of this is the lightbulbs reflecting in the class. Dunno why but it just is the lil cherry on top for me. Looks so amazing, even tho this isnt my style I can appreciate that it looks fantastic!
I love love love the top part, the lighting truly makes it look so glamorous! I don't even drink coffee but I'd love to have this as a tea station! I'd have put the hole to slide the glass doors in the bottom corners so it'd be easier to slide them open and closed but I guess you could leave them half open for daily use so there aren't too many finger prints on it :) The bottom part though, as beautiful as the vintage piece is, it's not getting it's moment to shine where it's placed right now and looks rather awkward with the legs on the raised platform. It'd look cleaner with built in cabinets. But as you've mentioned in the video you can move it someplace else in the future if that's what you want to do.
I'd prefer them mat dark color.
Agreeaybe if she has more of that tile left she could tile that drywall I think that would look great
Or a wood trim like the top 🤔
Not a fan of the bottom. Definitely would have liked it built in and maybe find another place for the cabinet you found.
I agree, maybe to match the tile color so the legs could be appreciated but not stand out so much.
Though I would have installed lights inside the top cabinet too.

that is a fair point, it's gonna be annoying to clean under there too. it'd be super easy just to stain a piece of wood and stick it over it.
This is a high praise!
Yes and the tapered legs give it that mid century touch. I hope you ignore the top comment and not cover up the mid-century goodness.
OK need your info/website Gabby!
Been stalking the channel waiting for this video omg finallyyyyyyyy
love to hear it
I love that Austin's solution to everything is HAMMER.
That tile really elevated the project so much! Now I am even more excited to see what you do with the rest of the house, particularly the kitchen because now it's got to be on the same level as that gorgeous coffee bar!
Yes, I feel like that tile was what tied it all together to be so impressive in the end!

omg this looks amazing, my jaw was agapeee when I saw the after!!! You did an amazing job!!
Your other house was beautiful but this just seems so much more like you guys. Excited to see more makeovers eventually :)

Don’t leave us on a cliffhanger Becky, how did you get that tiny piece of glass in? 😱 it looks amazing!
Lol I was wondering the same thing.
Same
She did. You can see it being in place in the final result.
Probably sanded the wood or the glass a little to make it fit

I really like it! The bottom is a little out of place to me though, would you consider tiling it potentially?
Maybe a funky rug or carpet?
Love seeing something different that uses color and wood with actual wood tones and reused materials A+++++++
the first five minutes of this video were just recap of part 1, so this video was essentially just over 12 minutes. i love the sorry girls but i don’t understand why we couldn’t just get a 40 minute video instead of these two parts. this has been my sentiment for a lot of these “that 70s house” videos. i really want to see becky makeover her house but am not liking these 2 part videos on one room/project. part one leaves me disappointed/ dissatisfied and that feeling is then carried over when i’m watching part 2 :(
don’t be afraid to out out longer videos, long videos are good!
Building a cabinet…or the perfect cozy cubby for your beautiful cabinet🥰
I love the way it turned out!! I think it needs some greenery to offset all the brown/orange tones! Put some plants that hang down on top of the top cabinet or add some succulents to the coffee bar (or both.) I think plants would liven the whole space up and really being all the spaces together! 💗
That cabinet look so much better with the lights on! Such a mood!
The lighting really helps you see how amazing that tile is!! 😮
i am OBSESSED with those tiles. they really tie everything together and elevate the look. love it sm!
I mean this in the nicest most complimentary way possible- it looks like it’s the little continental breakfast bar in the lobby of a 50s/60s motel 😭💛
All hits no misses from Mrs. Becky. You can really tell she designs for herself and her needs, it shows in her work. Naysayers be damned!
Stunning outcome! Love it. It frees up movement in the kitchen too. Bar, drinks, snacks, ... Brilliant!!!
my fav part of this is the lightbulbs reflecting in the class. Dunno why but it just is the lil cherry on top for me. Looks so amazing, even tho this isnt my style I can appreciate that it looks fantastic!
oh my god i’m literally obsessed with this!!! I don’t even drink coffee but I want this for tea and sweets
I love love love the top part, the lighting truly makes it look so glamorous! I don't even drink coffee but I'd love to have this as a tea station!
I'd have put the hole to slide the glass doors in the bottom corners so it'd be easier to slide them open and closed but I guess you could leave them half open for daily use so there aren't too many finger prints on it :)
The bottom part though, as beautiful as the vintage piece is, it's not getting it's moment to shine where it's placed right now and looks rather awkward with the legs on the raised platform. It'd look cleaner with built in cabinets.
But as you've mentioned in the video you can move it someplace else in the future if that's what you want to do.
Wow it's gorgeous!! And you can have extra storage under the cabinet with the extra space! Maybe a basket or two? Love the look!
70s isn't my aesthetic but for some reason I like this design so much. And even if it's not my taste, it's so cute!
