Would have loved to hear that man explain WHY developers can't build middle-class housing. I would also like to explain why it hasn't been a priority for 40 years. Stop building luxury condos. Stop expecting people to live in "housing." Everyone deserves an affordable home. There is plenty of room in the state.

There is an abundance of vacant over priced housing in MA. It really just comes down to hoarding real estate like a bank.

The entry-level salaries for state government jobs in Massachusetts are typically around $45,000 per year. However, many residents in Massachusetts struggle to afford their rent. One proposed solution is to regulate Airbnb and impose higher taxes on individuals who own multiple properties. This could help address the housing affordability issue and generate additional revenue for the state.

I believe it is time for rent control to come back and for everyone to protest in front of the governor's office because these rents are only going to get worse

I worked for a Boston non-profit property manager of HUD housing like section 8, elderly housing, etc.. everyone in the office except the social workers from the lowest worker to the CEO were grifting from the company, from the CEO who made a million a year and had a private plane, to the property manager who was doing fake checks, kick backs from vendors, etc. The first thing my manager told me was that I could buy soap and trash bags I needed with the company account for my own personal use.

I remember when I started earning $50,000 a year, I thought I was rich. And I'm not that old. Now I make more but according to this I'm still low income. The competition for housing is insane here. We need more affordable housing or many people won't be able to stay in this state.

MA has land but they just don't build new houses, in order to protect "environment" or to benefit the rich who're already rich and become richer - build more houses are going to lower their property values and that's why they prefer "protecting environment" while let average people live in "condominium" which are not the one you'd see in any other states but single family house divided into several smaller ones - made me sick!
