The winter abso=fucking-lutely sucks. The taxes are ridiculous. The laws are insane. Traffic sucks. Roads are trash. Left seven years ago. Don't miss it.
What bothers me the most are all the negative people who live in and around Boston, who think no other part of the state exists. The rest of Massachusetts is a great place to live.
We have sons near Springfield, MA and Lincoln, MA. Both areas are so nice and the people are friendly. I found the areas around Boston just too congested for my taste and like most big cities, the people aren’t very friendly but to each his own.
Agree! And it’s their loss! Give me the lawn of Tanglewood and the BSO on a warm summer evening and the snow-filled Berkshire Hills in the middle of winter!
Absolutely Don’t Move there if you like to Break the Law...they don’t put up with it. Do move there if you want a safe place to raise a Healthy Family...
We absolutely love the snow and cold here in Massachusetts!!! What we love least about the state is the political stronghold the left has on policies and the rest of life here. Too many only read the NYT, only listen to NPR, only watch CNN, yet think they’re wholly informed. Then they’re shocked when strings of their favorite mom and pop shops go out of business, their own property taxes come due, and their be-all-to-end-all EVs won’t take a charge in the winter. It forces those of us more center or (heaven forbid) right of them to lay low in order to coexist. Jeepers, even old-school democrats aren’t safe anymore.
I am a Floridian and just visited Boston and Salem. Traffic was absolutely worse than Florida. One road we were driving on they were constructing a building on a road that needs expanded , not another building. The driving was an absolute nightmare. I thought Miami was bad - Boston is worse. I don’t care what the data says. Thankfully we got out unscathed and car in one piece which is good because it wasn’t mine. Other than driving, I loved it there. I’ll definitely come back to visit both Boston and Salem.
Yep, our Roads are narrow and crowded. Boston was planned out by cattle! 😉 It’s a bit more “Civilized” beyond 128, but you definitely need a car out here! The MBTA is having a bad time right now, lack of maintenance and foresight has caught up with them! Used to be a lot better, hopefully it will get better sooner than later!
If you live (lived) in Massachusetts, you, probably, have been bothered by most, if not all of those negatives. Would love to hear what bothers you the most and the least, and if you have other things to add to my top 7. If you are thinking of buying or selling in Ma, feel free to schedule a free consultation with me. Check the description box for my contact info.
Hi @Kardana, thanks for watching. It depends what you mean by reasonable, your budget, will you be putting kids into public schools, how far or close from a major city. If you want to have a convo, we can set up a free consultation. Reach out to me on IG or email me nounekrealtor@gmail.com
It depends on where you work and what your commute will be. If you don't have to go anywhere, I suggest Plymouth. It is right by the water, it is very walkable, and a ton of fun.
I'm originally from the Boston area. I can tell you driving in the Boston area is crazy. I-93, the north-south expressway in Boston is horrible all the time. I-90, also known as the Mass Pike, is the east-west expressway in Boston. It is only bad during rush hour traffic. And yes, it is expensive to live in Massachusetts. When I retired from the military, I decided to stay here in Texas. As much as I love it back home in Massachusetts, it's just too expensive to live there. I do miss the leaves changing colors during fall.
That's what called New England weather.....wait a few minutes and it will change. We get snow (1978 and 2015 !!!) but it's not Buffalo or Alaska. No earthquakes, floods, hurricanes (sorry Gulf Coast) It's not Seattle where people don;t tan they rust!!. You could say the same thing about any area of the US.
with recent rains, we might start flooding! Hope not! The prediction is that the Boston area will start getting more precipitation with the global warming. Warmer areas in US will be burning, we are going to soak.
Better to go to the Sunshine State Florida: Miles and miles of strip malls with divorce lawyers, cheap tattoo parlors, pawn shops, etc., Wal-Marts every mile, trailer courts, trailer parks, trailer trash, malls, strip malls, mini-malls, cops, artery-clogging steak houses, McDonald's/Wendy's/Taco Bells every quarter mile, constant hot/humid weather, dixie this, dixie that, little lizards climbing the trees, "neighbors" who will call the cops on you at the slightest provocation. Banks every 500yds when you don't have any money, useless spanish moss, people from other countries working public service jobs who speak a different language than you, more cops, highway billboards (for readers) too numerous to describe obscuring highway signs, most of them offering funeral / cremation deals or promoting another "lemming trap" alcohol-related trend. Seniors driving 30m.p.h. in a 55 zone, uneducated/scary-looking people with cheap tattoos, sinkholes, sleazy strip-joints, guaranteed minimum wage jobs, liquor stores every 2 blocks, "Jerry Springer" people everywhere, more cops, official state "zero tolerance" signs with a little illustration of handcuffs to rub-the-point-in (bastards), traffic lights synchronized so cops can ticket you easier. Speed bumps designed to damage car suspension systems, gated communities loaded with better-than-thou people, FAT cops with mean grins, white trash from god-knows-where that just got out of prison last month usually playing their stereo loud at night so you can't sleep, neighbors sitting on cheap lawn furniture on front lawn drinking cheap beer (watching you). Mosquitoes that fly SO fast you actually can't swat them, snakes/alligators/fire ants/scorpions, alcohol/drug-addicted welfare people driving, running, walking & crawling everywhere if they're not standing in line waiting to cash in empty beer cans.
Driving and Parking Suck Suck Suck on a really good day. Average day worse Bad day, might as well be in Hell. Best thing I liked @ Massatwoshits was leaving.
9/29/23 - Mass Gov Healey said - “We can’t be left, holding the bag and footing the bill for what really is a federal problem,” the Democrat told reporters. (No not the Fed BUT IT"S THE DEMOCRAT PRESIDENT"S FAULT)
I heard once that the United States Dental Association has it's headquarters in the state. They chose this state over the other 49 simply because it's name has the nearest connection with teeth, Mass a chu setts.
I grew up in Connecticut and spent every summer going to Cape Cod. It was a fantastic place to be from. But I spent my entire adult life in Dallas, Texas and I’ll retire to the hills, trees, lakes, and golf courses in Arkansas. I won’t move back to New England.
Actually, sometimes I get a call from people in hot states saying they are sick of the hot Summers, and Falls, and Springs and they want to move to MA.
Born and raised in Boston the only real things I love about Boston are The Bruins and The Red Socks and the Celtics and the Patriots I also like the cold but that’s all I care for
You got a sub. I love your detailed and fact based videos! Love that’s you are not just sharing your opinion but also sharing the facts and numbers.
Awesome! Thank you!
The winter abso=fucking-lutely sucks. The taxes are ridiculous. The laws are insane. Traffic sucks. Roads are trash. Left seven years ago. Don't miss it.
If it wasn't so expensive, I'd move back to MA. I miss it terribly.
As a foreigner I lived in MA around 4 years. Such a beautiful place. Love and miss MA.
Awe, thank you for saying that @Mr Freddo. Each place has its negatives but we love living here in Ma
What bothers me the most are all the negative people who live in and around Boston, who think no other part of the state exists. The rest of Massachusetts is a great place to live.
Thanks for your feedback. Yes, Ma has many hidden gems!

No chance of moving there, I fled that state five-and-a-half years ago. You can have it
Well, I am glad you escaped, than.
I was born and raised in Boston, relocated to Texas in 2019. The only thing I miss about Taxachusetts is my family and friends. 😊
I am glad you are enjoying your new home!
I’m born and raised in Texas and am moving to Massachusetts soon
Mass is beautiful but very very expensive

Just curious why you passed over Worcester when it's the 2nd largest city in New England?
But the summers are fabulous.
Yes, they are @Nick
i hate this state they are way to over reaching these damn puritans
Time to leave Massachusetts.
Good morning. What is a good and reasonable neighbourhood for someone with kids. I'm looking to move to Mass by June.

@@BostonAreaHomes , It's fine here in Texas. Once in while I do miss my hometown of Framingham. I miss going to Fenway Park to see my Red Sox.

I live in MA… I think most of it explains Boston and not MA.
You are right, a new video is due with a more comprehensive information

Weather, Cost of Living, and Trans is only 3 things. Not sure you can count. Probably not should talk about the negative in other things yet....

this was a fantastic video, lots of references, thank you!
So glad you found it helpful @haz_dazzler009
Boston is city I hope to live in once I’m older. Based off your excellent video, I would say that my hope has turned into a will! Awesome video!
Wonderful, happy to hear that
She lied Massachusetts ranks 5th in people leaving
@@collins48lc be that as it may, but I still see Massachusetts as a place more pleasant than California.

If your going to move there, move to the Boston area. Most cities in Central and Western MA are slums and washed-up mill towns.
Filled with illegals gangs. We are at capacity for illegals.
"First thing, no one moves here because the weather".....
Me " unless you are from Florida!"
Actually, sometimes I get a call from people in hot states saying they are sick of the hot Summers, and Falls, and Springs and they want to move to MA.
I live in ma and. Nothing happened but a flood
Born and raised in Boston the only real things I love about Boston are The Bruins and The Red Socks and the Celtics and the Patriots I also like the cold but that’s all I care for
Thanks @Matthew OBrien, I am glad you like the cold, that’s the biggest issue for people thinking of moving here! 😀
Thanks again 💫
Always welcome
those things could apply to every state. 9 minutes wasted
❤
Best advice don't move to Marxachusetts
I live there, has become way too liberal! And their intolerant of others.
Don't move to Massachusetts if you are a Conservative (especially in the bigger cities). You will be ostracized daily.
Try Crest White Strips.
It's hard to leave home. MA is a great place but I don't like it there. Texas and California are the best states in the world
I am glad you found your home!
i hate the whole damn system in this garbage pit system is corrupt
Thanks for your comment.
1st class state
