I just did this with my pressure washer! Thanks for the video - I was lucky and could wiggle off my capacitor without taking the bolts off the pump assembly which was great because I could NOT budge those bolts! Washer is purring now! So much better than buying a new one!
Very good and clear thanks. Just what I needed to sort out the problem on the used Karcher I received today.... turn on power and motor hums but does not run. Thanks for the help.
That´s GREAT help....and save us such a lot of money.... I was already thinking that I need to buy a new device...and I found your video.... amazing...seems so easy that I will change the capacitor by myself !!!.... Thank you so much for your videos and guidance... that is a GREAT Help...!!!!
Thanks I'm sure this is the problem hope it works on my old K4 which suddenly stopped while being used for an hour. After that it just hums when I try and switch on.
HI, This video id great. Could you tell me if I should replace my capacitor please? Everytime that I plug in my K2.94 pressure washer and turn it on at the front switch, it flips the main fuse for my garage sockets at the fuse box!! It was working fine and then suddenly stopped after a fairly long period of use one day. I have changed the plug fuse, and the fuse in the RCD extension cable that I was using but there is no difference. Any ideas???
Where does the detergent nipple go on a karcher k3.68 that does not have a detergent supply on it? I replaced the motor capacitor but can't remember where the detergent nipple goes when putting it back together as I don't have the model with the detergent supply on it. Does it have to be plugged in someplace?
Hi I have a Karcher k3.99. I have just replaced the compressor head. It worked really well for about 25 minutes then stopped.-great pressure. Now it works for 30 seconds then stops. no buzzing noise or anything. after two minutes of waiting it starts again full pressure. this is repeated. any ideas???
+Andrew Watt These have a thermal tegulator on the motor. It sounds like the motor is overheating causing the motor to shut down until it cools. This can be caused by either a worn motor or something in the pump binding and getting the motor to overheat.
+eReplacementParts.com I have the same case it work for may be one minute and stooped so I have to wait at least 5 min . Pleas let me know how to fix this issue. Thanks in advanced
when I switch on my K4.600 absolutely no power . nothing happens ,usually there is a buzz/surge noise . I have changed the plug fuse so could that be the capacitor ? As I can't see a fuse inside anywhere. Thanks Tim
My Karcher K3.99 has a problem. the on off switch will not turn the unit off - it keeps running when I switch it to off and I have to turn it off by unplugging it at the ac outlet. Is this a capacitor problem or something else? Any help would be appreciated
+gilandduke I would look first a replacing the On/Off Switch. Usually if a Capacitor fails the motor will just hum or not make any noise. Yours is coming on but doesn't turn off.
+Wenyuan Sun I think your problem lies in the Pressure relief valve. This problem happens because the valve isn't releasing the pressure. When this happens the motor is having to start under a full load.
+eReplacementParts.com Thank you so much for the reply. I double checked the piston guidance assembly, did not find pressure relief valve. It turned out that the ball bearing got stuck due to insufficient lubrication. The pump runs fine after I injected some grease around the ball bearing. Now I have a new problem: the pressure it produces is very low, it's so low that the motor does not gets shut off when the spray wand is off. Water flow is sufficient and I let water run for 30 seconds before connecting the high pressure hose , the cylinder head, the oil seals and the spacers are all new. Any thoughts on this?
mine hd 5/11c when i try to turn it on the motor turns 1/4 of a turn if that then trips my mains power, the motor is free to turn etc not tight, could this be the capacitor?
Hello Mark, I have the Karcher K3.500 that has just stopped working: switch on, nothing happens. Your video is very clear and I have been able to strip the machine down, but I now want to test to see if the problem is with the switch or the capacitor. I have a multimeter, could you tell me how to test these two items. I have used an ohm meter across the capacitor and it shot up and then down again (very quickly), and I checked the double pole switch: both are showing that power is getting across when switched on... Is there some other safety device that is preventing the motor from starting?

Good day and thanks. I have a Karcher K2.99M machine that is totally dead ... No humming No clicking and no buzzing!. I would like to test the Fuse and switch before ordering replacement parts....but after stripping the machine I cannot find the Fuse and the power cable seems to be sealed into the switch housing. Does this machine have an internal fuse? if so where is it? Can the power cable be unplugged from the switch housing on this model?... I've watched numerous RUclipss and see that they do indeed unplug on some models.
Looks like this is a U.K. model and is slightly different from the U.S. models. They offer the cord separately so I'm sure it is replaceable but I don't have any experience doing it. No fuse unless there is a time delay built into the motor.
Hello... My k3.98 does not turn on... Is there a way to check the motor turning It directly without use the electrical system without take the four bolts out of the pump assembly? If no.... There is any Care to take the bolts out to do this??

Many thanks! Replaced the capacitor in my K3.99 which had stopped working using your video.
It now works! so once again many thanks.
Here's another good video, Mark. I know you said a few words about diagnosis at the start, but more on the diagnostic side is always appropriate.

Mark, where did u get that handy dandy little tool to remove the cover?
Good video but why take the four bolts out of the pump assembly ? my capacitor can be removed once the bracket holding the motor is removed.
will the capacitor cause my circuit breaker to trip?
Very useful thanks
hello sir could u please upload a video of bosch aqt 37-13 pressure washer dismantling .....where is the hidden screw ........

Dear Thanks for information,,I want to know karcher high pressure 10/25 which mobil use used??
Hello, I am sorry I don't understand the question. Please provide more information. Thanks
capacitor supplies initial startup current to rotor's windings to facilitate induction...

What does that tube do above the switch? could that have something to do with the problem?
When i turn on my Kärcher it humms for 3 seconds then it stops. The only pressure comes from the garden hose. What could it be?
you guys rock.

Hi David, we are currently researching this for you. Will have a response soon. Thanks

where do I buy the capacitor?
perfect, com este vídeo já vou poupar uns trocos, thanks
One thing to mention... Don't mess with a capacitor, it could knock you across the room, Do not touch the ends.
anyone help with a video on changing a micro switch on karcher pressure washer
See if this link helps: ruclips.net/video/oNqe6mWUXWI/видео.html
We got it done thanks
