He have worked even before SBS was a thing, very fascinating story he have there, happy retirement and birthday!
I believe SBS was around from 1971 onwards, which is when he started out.
Waiting for someone who served in SMB from the days of TIBS in 1983. But hard to find now that some of the original TIBS routes are going over to TT Mandai package in 2 month's time.
Yes same

50 years man. Amazing commitment to bus-driving.
But bus drivers are assholes

Those time when there is no aircon… And it’s so hard to stay so long for one job.
I missed the bus "Captains" of the good 'ol days!
Anyone ring the bell repeatedly for the same stop gets a mouthful of expletives!
Nowadays people press stop like nobodies business.
Happy retirement, uncle Koh!
My surname koh too...
We should thank our bus drivers every time we board on and off the buses as it is hard work and they are the backbone of singapore

The company should retire him with a golden parachute.
@@maxwong6222 the company should retire him with a golden model bus
Nice and Very touching.
A part of me wants to be a bus driver. But my bowel always say no. It gonna be very messy.
Anyway , happy retirement uncle.
Imagine you doing shifts on 14 or 51. Win liao.
Don't blame the 966 bus captain for stopping the bus at the servo just to use the bathroom. When nature calls, all must heed.
Can I choose if I just want to drive shutter service ? I mean the short route?
bro driven more buses than dates i had
恭喜你uncle. 你事业有成。祝你幸福。
50 yrs of traveling together with sbs transit
You have our respect!^_^
This is what i call commitment
Thank you Uncle Koh🙏
Happy birthday
He takes pride in his job. First and maybe last job, 50years. Cant imagine. Nowadays, people are spoilt by choice and job hop. If every singaporean like Mr koh probably we dont need so many foreigners.
its not the same. some companies lay off locals or reduced their pay so can get cheaper foreigners.
Wow when i grow up i actually also wanna be BC since 2016 lol but salute to this guy
Respect👍👍👍👍👍
Thank u boss
5 decades, that's very long

Thank you for your service, uncle! Enjoy the retirement
He works for a better life he don't live to work. About time 👏
Gone are the days when we could land a job straight after graduation and work for the same organisation until we get called home to the Lord.
Very well edited. I only hear good things. Senior out. Many money saved.

Damn..
Alamak, is just like 4D lah, every draw got people strikes but not you, your turn will come one day 😂😂😂
S kumar.....you can tell your father's story through this comment column....i would like to hear your father life as a sbs captain....thank you....
Send your story to the Straits Times! We would love to hear your story too!
He is old schooled bus personnel. From bus driver + ticket conductor, non air conditioned period till current modern single OMO (one man operator) bus captain.
I still remember my school kid price of 5¢ / 10¢ punched ticket. I've even collect tickets numbering 0000 to 9999. Haha. Those were the period in 70s & 80s. Lol
Last time when we had conductor on board the bus he would give out change. But after switch to OMO we must all pay exact fare. In Perth, however, drivers still gave change right up till last year when ChiNazi Flu hit.
But one thing eh. I know we invest in new look for buses but i'm still waiting for someone locally to come up with a design for wheel chair such that the slop is automated?
Why need local, u can’t reinvent the wheel. Just buy from outside same thing what
One of the MAN A95s has an automatic ramp.

He did not mentioned the long hours, shitty shifts, short break, poor work-life balance, 1 day off, work on holidays. Good pay? 👎
He forgot?
Watch....IN SINGAPORE OUR LIFE IS GETTING TOUGHER AND TOUGHER👍🕳🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
BUS FARES ALWAYS RAISED....
BUT NOT YOUR PAY....RIGHT?
RETIRED.....HOW MUCH YOU GOT EVERY MONTH FROM YOUR BOSS NOW? FREE COFFEE LUNCH AT BUS DEPOTS....FREE COMPANY BUS RIDES....FREE MEDICAL BY COMPANY....IF SO..
THEN ITS HAPPIER RETIREMENT🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲
Happy racial harmony day people
Buses so easy to drive that some are treating it like F1 knn...
I bet some uncles or aunties gotten bruises from the sudden brake/throttle/turn.
An F1 car doesn't travel at 60km/h.
driving automatic buses or....the problem is when an over-reliance on these systems makes bus drivers less confident of their own abilities and competencies.
One good thing about modern buses is the anti fatigue warning systems on board. They can tell if the driver is about to fall asleep. Damn intelligent machines indeed.
Can't speak english and malay. Shamefur
Thank you for your service and happy retirement uncle
