It excels in literally any and all dog show competitions and is used for everything in the real world from miliatry service dog, general service dog, hunting dog and a plethora of other reasons. Nobody will ever convince me there's another breed of dog out there so proficient in such a wide range of dog abilities.
They in truth sports dogs, who just look like foo-foo dogs! They are water dogs naturally, and mine loved the ball more than anything! They are full on dog!
My friend had two miniature poodles who pulled a cart. They used it to deliver flowers to residents of nursing homes, VA hospitals, etc. They were always a big hit!
The most intelligent and faithful breed I've ever met. I'm not a big fan of grooming though, because I feel it partly distracts the attention from these dogs amazing virtues.

If you are a backwoods hunter They are great hunting dogs. If you are an upscale Beverly Hills socialite They are fancy. If you want to run agility...see video
Yes, I am totally with you! I wish people got to invest more time and know more about them, they are not just ‘quiet’ or ‘goofy’ as show dog, but they are also hunting and service dog. I also disappointed how people only care about his coat/hair, and cross breed with any other breed (doodle is a thing in USA since last 7-10 years). It makes me wanna cry every time when someone actually says ‘ is is a poodle’ when I walk my boy… (thank god they are not saying that is a ‘doodle’)

What a beautiful girl! I am so looking forward to the day when I can own another small poodle. That is so true to form for a poodle, yapping due to joy. Sometimes when my toy poodle would get over-the-top excited, she would turn somersaults or spin. Pre is truly focused and committed to this dog sport! Lovely!
Poodles were originally hunting dogs. Which explains why the toy poodles and miniature poodles seem notably more athletic than other dogs in their size range.
Be careful Pre is likely a fully in tact female in order to keep her hormones and joints in tip top shape. If your dog is neutered their joints and drive will be severely at a disadvantage.

i wouldnt think instantly eating is what they want. Some water and some calmly rolling on the floor cuddling or something to slowly get the heart rate down. Then maybe some food.. Its rough not being understood while your life is not in your hands, but in the hands of people that think they know better and cant just present all the options, then let decide and let learn.
