As a 40 year Master plumber using Milwaukee tools all my life I have been switching over to Hercules. Of course tools like tubing cutter, PVC cutter, PEX expander and crimp tools will use my Milwaukee batteries. But for common tools drills, saw zaws, etc. Millwaukee has just overpriced their Batteries. 12 amp hour Milwaulkee 250.00 bucks, Hercules 12 amp hour 125 bucks. Same cells and better warranty. The hayday of Milwaukee is over.

    Great Video and well demonstrated...
Hercules singlehandedly changed my perception of HF.
After years of the brand name stuff and the issues i had, i decided to try HF.
Hercules can easily stand its ground when looking the overall package (Price, Quality, Warranty).

I find it interesting when comparing the 1" bit on the Hercules to the Milwaukee, the Milwaukee in the clip has the 5ah battery on it. A 2.5ah battery with 18650 cells won't have the balls for a 1" bit from any brand tbh. I know the 21700 cells work well with the Hercules, but it would be a better comparison if he was running the 5ah battery with 18650 cells on the Hercules when comparing to the Fuel in the clip. It's falsely making people think the Hercules is weak sauce.

      100% true.
Its almost like he's purposely 'trying' to throw shade on the Hercules.
Sounds like his loyalties lie in whoever sponsors his videos.
      Sound familiar?

I’ve been slowly making the jump to Hercules from Milwaukee. When I was a first getting into the trades all the old timers swore Milwaukee or nothing so my inexperienced aşś took the there advice and started down the path of $250 batteries and $200/ 400 tools biggest mistake of my life and I have done alot of dumb things but I loose sleep over my Milwaukee spending. All the times I had to shop at the 99¢ store for food and not using the ac or heat just to save up for a tool or battery from the rich n powerful Milwaukee tool cartel . Enough is enough next time my girlfriend wants to go out for a nice dinner I can say yes let’s go babe and surprise her with some jewelry and next time my wife wants to buy something for our kids I’ll be like hell yeah get it they deserve it . Just the thought of Milwaukee makes me sick to my stomach

I purchased one of these yesterday. All my power tools are Bosch or Dewalt, so I went out on a limb to buy this. Early days, but very impressed with the quality so far. I have been using my Dewalt impact driver for years, for everything from drilling to driving lag bolts. I stayed with the impact driver because my drill did its best to break my wrist numerous times. With this I am hoping to go back to using a drill for drilling.

  • @rodneyspence7441
    @rodneyspence7441 4 месяца назад +1

So when it says max torque of 1200 inch-pounds (100 ft-lbs) is that assuming the 12 amp-hr battery? Because it looks like torque definitely increases with increasing amp-hrs. Which makes sense ... more amps into the drill motor would produbcd more power

Frequent sales offer a 5Ah cell plus a charger for 100 clams, and you get the drill free...cannot be touched when compared to ANY $100 kit. While I'm no longer working 40 hours a week with a drill, the Herc i bought a few months ago has more than enough force to break my arm. What more do I need? It was that or start replacing all the ancient Makita gear I have with more Makita, at prices I can't justify any longer. I'm happy. Now that HF has lost the bottom end of the market to Amazon and Timu, making decent tools seems to be their path to survival, even at higher prices. Everybody wins.

Those 4ah use a larger cell then the 18650 cells the 2.5 and 5ah batteries use from what I've heard. I'm assuming that is why the difference is so noticable.

@@chrisjones6002 You are right, I think 20700 or 21700 batteries may have been used, but the higher the battery capacity, the higher the power. For example, you cannot tighten an 8x200mm screw with a 2.5ah battery, but you can tighten it with 5ah.
A battery with a higher amperage provides much better power.

Man, that sucks. I hate electronic clutches for the exact reason shown here. A mechanical clutch disengages as soon as you hit a certain amount of resistance and that's it. You're typically not going to sink the fastener any further, whether you pull the trigger again or not. As shown in the video, electronic clutches will let you pull the trigger again and drive it further before the clutch disengages again. Oh well. For the price, this is still a pretty kickin' little drill.

I have the Milwaukee Gen-3 M12 hammer drill, and it performs better with a 1-1/4" speedbor than this considerably larger 18V Hercules does with the 1" speedbor.
