Curious if these should alert on 24.125Ghz modulated K band 5mW? The small towns around here are getting a popular brand (TrafficLogix) speed signs, which seem to be undetectable. From the spec sheets, it says its modulated K band, +-25Mhz to the mentioned freq. Got a 700i and it won’t alert on any of them, just curious if anyone might know.
I have a video of this I believe. The RAD 700i did just fine with it. Cobra RAD 700i Test: MultaRadar & Redflex Halo Photo Radar ruclips.net/video/IWhSkWoyo9Y/видео.html I think we are going to test the MAX 4 today. And a video will be coming shortly.
@@RadarBusters thanks for the reply but you just linked the same video I watched and commented :) I know it does well (thanks a lot for this test) was just curious if it's better or worst than an Uniden R4 or Uniden R8 . I think of all the Escort 360 Intl gets the better MRCD performance and range , but the Uniden (both R4 and R8) doesn't seem great against MRCD which makes me wonder if the Cobra Rad 700i is possibly better than both .
Some do a better balance at filtering, sensitivity, and responsiveness than others. I’ve seen that some think the filtering is quite good on K-band here like relative to an R3. That’s an amateur misunderstanding at what is happening or an intentional mislead, doesn’t really make a difference which. Slow responding detectors on K-band don’t have to filter as well because they are slow to alert in the first place. The Uniden R3 may be a little more prone to falsing or the R4 for that matter, but you can rest assured either is super responsive to genuine I/O like from a difficult to detect low-powered Kustom Raptor RP-1 K-band gun. 2 seconds for an initial alert is an eternity, for example, in alerting responsiveness, considering that police can get a reading from an I/O shot at well under 1 second. We will test responsiveness when we get back from our trip. Stay tuned. 👍
We have found the even with all K-band filters disabled on the Redline 360c and the MkII series of radar detectors, their appears to be signal processing/rejection still going on.
I agree the R3 is an excellent detector which I have and use daily. I also have a Escort X50 black international which is over 10 years old which beats it every time when detecting redflex vans here in Ireland. The Escort seems to have no filtering or no minimum base line ro achieve before alerting which ever other detector I have bought dose. I also have a redline international mk1 and a beltronics sti-r international and these M3 based detectors have very slow reaction times compared to the X50 which is ment to have inferior hardware. So in conclusion I believe its all down to firmware and these detectors are capable of alot more but are being held back by the manufacturers for sales purposes.
I'm trying to decide between a Cobra Rad 700i, Uniden R3 or Radenso XP. Which would you suggest? I'm trying not to spend a fortune if I don't have to and I live in Jacksonville beach Fl. I need something for around town beach driving. Can you tell me what you would get please? Love your videos
@@TheNLHAZE Yeah, I’m super happy I went with the R4! It’s awesome. Great range and great false alert filtering. It’s great out of the box and even better after you configure it
1/2 mile to slightly less on Ka got my first hit with the cobra. Plenty, that was with a heavily wooded curve and a steep hill. No idea on straight line performance.
Just bought the 700i. Awsome video!!
Thanks for the updates!! I ❤ my R4 it's inexpensive and has great sensitivity..

Nice video
Thank you.
Interesting results, how do you think it fares against both an Uniden R8 and an Escort RL 360 Intl in terms of MRCD detection ?

I think for redflex manufacturers have to have the option to remove any filtering on K band and i mean all filtering.

Hows the rad700 i doing?
Quite well.

What about the DS1 Radenso
@@matthew1996 I bought the Uniden R4 at Sam’s Club today for $289. I couldn’t pass that up. Good suggestion though
The RAD 700i is really impressing us. It hangs with the R4, let alone the R3. But either one will serve you well.
I love the pick up on my R4 just as good and very great sensitivity❤❤ against long-range Ka, and k bands...

How is the cobra on other bands?
X-band looks good. Not enough Ka yet. Going on cross country trip tomorrow. Will get a better handle on it then and will post encounters.

great for straight line as well, coming from someone where these are illegal.
