I own a Cobra RAD 700i and it does have a really good notification range. I recently upgraded to the Escort MAXcam 360c because I wanted a camera. I put the 700i in my truck and the MAXcam in our car.
That’s only because you are on open roads is why your detector can detect at so far distances. A lot has to do with the terrain you’re traveling I can guarantee try using your same detector in a city especially around high populated areas and you’ll see for yourself how short distances your detector get out like 1 To 3 miles I use the escort max 360 But i live In the city. So on average i can detect police sharp but at a 1 to 3 miles at most because of the surroundings St.louis city or any other. Cities same thing

Of course alerting distances increase in rural more flat terrains with lower humidity as already stated, but still impressive in any event.

Radar Roy always tried to keep a rabbit like quarter mile ahead on long drives. Good insurance if a cop is having a off day.
The issue in my case is that there isn’t generally a rabbit fast enough.
