I am RD enthusiast with 20+ years of RD testing. You are rare of a kind person that does great RD tests. I currently own 3 RDs: Radenso DS1, Uniden R4 and Cobra DP360 with phone app for Motocycle helmet. That would be nice if you can compare Cobra RAD700i to any of these detectors or at least R4 and DS1. It can be a stationary KA source even in a plain terrain just to see sensitivity difference. I recently tested DS1 and Escort Redline around 2008 model right when Beltronics Sti magnum was present and DS1 was a little bit more sensitive against KA source but not much to my surprise. I would run a stationary test of an old redline legend vs DS1, R4, Rad700, Max360MK2, DP360(looks it was discontinued) R7/8 like you once did against KA police department source. Great job, thank you so much!!!!
Appreciate your kind remarks. Our method of testing detectors and other countermeasures is to use them and put them under stress testing at elevated speeds. If they perform well at say 30mph over the PSL, as is the case here, we of course expect them to provide sufficient protection if one drives within those limits at more typical speeds such as below the PSL, at the PSL, or 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, etc. We liken our testing to testing the higher speed limits of say tires or other operating characteristics of vehicles as you would read in automotive magazines. This approach, we believe, is the most accurate, the real-world, with all of the dynamics at play. It’s been my signature and novel approach to testing for 20 plus years. I believe the RAD 700i has the sensitivity in the range of the R4, but is quieter in general. I haven’t yet tested the reactivity of it, but will do so when we return from our trip. I’ve considered doing some tests against a variety of detectors. What elements would you be interested in seeing tested?
@@RadarBusters Thank you for the reply. I am aligned that real word case scenarios are the best to get an idea how RD performs. It would be nice to test distance to the course at least. How popular up for sale 2024 radar detectors pick up (stationary) Ka source, if you have a gun, even better, you can drive and mark the distance. Even if there are (3-5) of them on the windshield. It can be stated by pairs if there are falses caused by other RDs that are ON. Moreover, your R9 is a great baseline for any RD :) Right, sometimes RDs will go off affecting one another especially when they boot up like Escorts or V1, Bel but when I tested I put them in different corners of the windshield and rarely got a false alerts.
It’s well justified. It needs a brighter display, but this is a groundbreaking radar detector at this price point. We’ve got with us all of the Escort and Uniden radar detectors as well as the V1G2 on this trip. I put the RAD 700i up on the windshield and haven’t taken it down since. It’s an absolute pleasure to drive with.
I just drove through here a few weeks ago on my way to Florida. I thought it looked familiar. I live in Charleston, SC and I drive that way to take I-95S.
@@RadarBusters excellent Smithers. If I Cld figure out RUclips I want to show you a laser scatter detection caught on rl radar detector bf parking sensors picked up. Think it’s on my yt account Keep the rubber on the ground stay safe and thx again ! Will keep k off against ur advice until I see a real life k hit. lol

Every review I have seen on that RAD700 has been excellent. Especially for the price. I wish they would come out with an arrow version of it...

Btw it was from a pro laser 3. Think they throw out a little wider beam and more scatter
