  • Ever have to use a non ferrous (brass) engine plug/thread adapter for a compression test? You know, the kind that screws onto the tester hose, then the adapter falls off as you unscrew the hose to move onto the next cylinder.
Leaving you with a not only a useless cylinder head, but also a non functional compression tester. You think, Ah, I can use a magnet - nope.
Modify a screwdriver, tap it into the adapter, unscrew the adapter, once its free, simply fish it back out with the compression tester hose.
Well here ya go, simple trick to save you're bacon in a jam.

I have a steel one stuck. I am waiting for an hour for the thread lock to dry. If it does not then I will try something else like you did. The good news is all cylinders were in the same range 175 to 182. Glad to know this happens. Great video.

Threadlocker may work, since its steel at least you can turn it loose with a screwdriver and then pull it out with a magnet.

Additionally, I wrap some duct tape on the flat head tip, let the sticky side toward outside, push and turn, work like a charm.

Dude seriously there is a much easier way. Take a plastic oil funnel, cram the end into the brass adapter. Pushing down on the funnel, turn it counterclockwise. Maintain pressure at all times. When you see the funnel rising up with pressure applied, simply turn the funnel until the adapter is loosened. Remove the oil funnel, remove the adapter from the oil funnel. The end of the funnel barely fits the inside of the adapter for this to work

      Bad Product Design.
There should have been dedicated hoses for each plug type.
