Thank you for making this tutorial, but either i am really dumb or my computer is a little different. i have a Acer CP311-H3. it has clear plastic that makes the repair very annoying plus this is my first ever repair on a computer key. I can't seem to get the plastic part that hooks the key to the button on, and i think i mat have done something wrong. Can you help? i know i'm being very vague but i have no idea what i'm look at ):
thank you now my p is back on and im young wow thank u so much!
You are so very welcome!!
Have one for a MSI GL65 Leopard steelseries? I have a left shift key that looks like one side isn't hooked in out of the box.
If you just purchased it then it is most likely still under warranty...I would call it in
The two plastic parts came apart and I’m having trouble getting them back into place. Any ideas?
usually there are two little posts that snap into a groove on the other piece of plastic. It can be tricky to get them back together.
I have been trying to find a replacement key for my Chromebook Acer 720. My arrow key down is broken off and I have to try and keep the little rubber in place and if I loose the little black arrow down key I have to find it to work my computer. I know this sounds crazy but I am so tired of keeping up with these two little parts to work my computer and can't find a website to purchase another little down arrow. Can you help me?
It looks like you can not find individual keys but you can find replacement keyboards. A lot of times in this situation you can just take a key off of replacement keyboard and use that. Like here is a link to one on eBay:

Is it possible to fix a key if the middle rubber button is gone?
The rubber button that works as a mouse? If the rubber piece fell off then you can usually get replacement ones really easy on eBay. It usually goes back on pretty easy.
Thx now my computer looks perfect and just had to move the key around or something
Glad to hear it
how to fix a key like shift or control
Can you put the old keys back on ?
If the key is not damaged then you should be able to put back on without a problem.
@@EggheadFixers thank you for responding and for the video it really helped 😊
@@amaralucas5049 Glad to hear it!!
I tried this and the retainer pops into place just fine! The trouble is, when I try to place the key back on, it doesn't stick all the way and falls off. Any Pointers?
Edit:
I Checked to see if there was any damage to the key or retainer, and there is not please help
Sometimes it's a little warped so it's hard to get it to click in so try moving it around a little bit while pushing down. Also examine under the key cap sometimes the retainer clip is fine but a piece of plastic on the key cap has come off
@@EggheadFixers Thanks!
@@00Mop welcome!
I need help!! I took off the enter button from the Acer chromebook 311 and the brackets fell off and I don't know what to do. :(
When you say brackets...Do you mean the metal bars? Or the plastic clips?
@@EggheadFixers The plastic clips, I was trying to fix it yesterday and one of the plastic clips broke. :(
@@lil_pauly17Sorry to hear that:/ Then you will need to replace the palmrest or get a retainer clip off another keyboard for this model Chromebook.
@@EggheadFixers do you know where I can fix it?
@@lil_pauly17 Any repair shop should be able to do that for you. Like Geek Squad in best buy
hey nice vid
could you do one for the arrows i have been struggling for many hours trying to get the right arrow key back on
I'll pass on the suggestion
@@EggheadFixers thanks for taking the time to look at my comment :)
@@crayperson2460 You're welcome !
the key still keeps popping off
Does it look any of the plastic came off? Or are the metal hooks bent? These are the two most common reasons for this kind of problem
pls show shift key
I will pass that suggestion on
me trying to fix the space bar *confusion noise*
What problems are you having with it?
i tried this and it didnt work

When i do this exact tourtial it doesn’t work. Its almost like the key doesn’t lock in and when i take just the key out all of other stuff comes out as well. I have tried putting the other stuff in first then the key but sty doesn’t work. Weird thing is that i can push it in all the way but it pops out.
If you take the key cap off another key then you can compare and see if anything is installed incorrectly
