FAQ's:
Q: My Key Cap will not click down in place correctly. What's wrong?
A: If your Key Cap is not clicking down in place correctly, it is most likely due to the Retainer Clip not being properly installed or damaged. Remove the Cap and inspect for damage or that its not laying down flush and properly snapped in itself. Compare to another Clip if needed by removing another Cap.
Q: Where can I purchase replacement keys?
A: If you break or damage any component of the key assembly, you would have to replace it. I usually get my keys on Ebay or www.replacementlaptopkeys.com. If you cannot find a loose key for sale, you may have to purchase a keyboard and take a key from there.
Q: I have a Key or Keys that are not working. Will this fix them?
A: This video is a tutorial on how to replace a key. If your keys are not working but are not mechanically broken, troubleshoot them as seen here; • How To Fix Troubleshoo... .
Q: The hinge clip came apart into two pieces. How can I reassemble?
A: They fit together with a small plastic pin on the left and right of the inner clip. These fit into holes on the outer clip. To see exactly how the inner clip sits in the outer clip, remove another key cap and copy the clip under it.
Q: The rubber spring came off. How do I reattach it?
A: There isn't really a good way to reattach those. They are not meant to be replaced. Best advice is try to use a small amount of glue. If that does not work, you may have to replace the keyboard.
Q: The Hinge Clip came off with the Key Cap. What do I do?
A; Because they key can usually not be reinstalled with the Retainer Clip and the Key Cap still attached to each other, you would have to separate them as seen here, using a small flat pry tool.

Was just following along and got to the part about removing the folding part. I found a way that worked easier for me at least. I just used my fingernail to lift the mechanism up then used a tiny flat screwdriver to gently separate where the two pieces of it meet. Wanted to clean out under my keys. Started with the number pad to be safe. Popped the soft bubble sensor to the 6 and decided to stop messing with it. Hello, Friend. Can you tell me a type of key hinge? H81?
3 of my keys are working. I just took one of the keys off (not the underlying black clip) and tried pressing the little rubber nub in the center and it doesn't work at all.
Does that mean I need to replace my entire keyboard?
Yes, if any of the components of the key are not working then they should be replaced. Thats the same with all 3?
@@PC_Monkey I just checked one of them. The keys are placed close together. I just thought it was dust or something. But the rubber nub under it didn't work when pressed. So I think the issue is a little deeper than just "dust"
@@anusharajan6191 Ya, Its very weird for the rubber spring not to work. If its not pushing the key back up, it may be that the retainer clip is not letting it push back up. Perhaps its stuck / broken somehow. Sorry. Hard to tell without seeing it :(

What if the middle of the like black thing is on the bottom of the key and the outside of the black think is just like but it’s self
I dont understand that, sorry. The Key Cap is the top part with the character on it. The Retainer Clip is the 2-part clip that holds the Key Cap down. And the Rubber Spring is the component in the center that pushes the Key Cap back up after its pressed.
A few of the keys on my Samsung Chromebook Plus V2 keyboard, only intermittently function when pressed and 1 not at all... and now the number "4" key is intermittently activating and it is repeatedly typing the number "4" without being touched, plus it is causing other malfunctions, when it is firing...
Is there any other solution than replacing the keyboard? Which seems too complex and costly than replacing this Samsung Chromebook Plus V2 or is there a simpler fix, like what was shown in this post?
PS, What do you think about the Framework Laptop and it is repairable, as a replacement? Since most laptops seem to be designed to be disposable, especially chromebooks.
Does the key feel like there is something physically wrong with it or does it feel like its physically working fine?
@@PC_Monkey I can't discern any difference in the feeling of the keys, when it happens, between the keys that function and those that are not functioning...
