I have 2 miele canister vacs (one was given to me for free 25 yrs ago by an elderly neighbor who purchased and never used it!). I love having a hepa filter bagged system; so much easier and cleaner. Will never go back to bagless. I tried and disliked the Dyson upright vacuum - the dust bin emptying was a pain in the arse and so many plastic pieces broke over the years. I would stay with Miele no matter what.
For anyone who is considering to buy Dyson please check small wheels next to the motorhead. They are getting worn after very short period of time and guess what they are starting to scratch your hardwood floor! We have 2nd vacuum cleaner from Miele (cable one - cx1) and we never had any issues. Suction power from Dyson is great, also design but overall no go for this amount of money. And the wheels need to be redesign! Its an design issue.
Holy wow! First I tried the Dyson, very uncomfortable. Hated the way the head moved around and it also hurt my hand near my thumb because I had to hold my finger on the trigger. Then I tried the Miele. I am in absolute love. Being able to move the canister depending on what kind of job I am tackling at that time is amazing. The whole vacuum is amazing. Comfortable, perfect, amazing. And I seriously can’t believe Dyson does not have headlights. Oh my goodness gracious, Dyson can take a walk as far as I’m concerned!
Dyson has a even better headlights than Miele which is present on V12 and V15 Detect models. V15 is the flagship model, and not even presented here because this "review" is biased. Moreover, the light is laser light basically, not whatever basic LED present on Miele. Please make a check on v12 and V15 Detect models and you'll change your mind - especially V12 has a classic on-off button, so no need to hold the trigger all time. I have a V12 Detect Slim model, I have a cat, and the delivered results are just perfect. Not less. And this model is also very light and easy to handle, a real pleasure.
I spent hours studying and reading up on both. I'm going with Miele as the Dyson is too heavy, unwieldy and having to constantly squeeze the trigger just screams fatigue and pain. Buy the Dyson if you are a weight lifter or a masochist.
My wrists get sore with my Dyson using just the hand held without the wand on, it gets heavy and cumbersome for us 50+ users I propped my Dyson up against a wall while moving furniture and watched it fall and bounce 3 times on the charger and now the power button doesn't work. I'm wanting to try a Miele because of the versatility to shift the weight around (canister) and that it will free stand on its own so no more unexpected crashes. Setting a Dyson down gently is not something I want to think about when I'm cleaning my rugs/floor then switching to vacuum couch or my mattress.
I have the Dyson V11 absolute for a year now. It vacuums great, when it works. Unfortunate everything is wobbling. The trigger is the big problem, first when it was new you only had to watch and it powered on, that is very annoying, after a half year it was difficult to turn it on with the trigger, you have to squeeze so hard to get it on that my fingers hurt and have blisters after 5 minutes. This is a common problem on many models of Dyson and Dyson does not change it. So next time I will buy the Miele! Dyson should get rid of the stupid trigger and make it more firm. Well I phoned Dyson and they send me immediately a brand new Dyson V11 (updated version). So next time I buy a Dyson I take the 5 years extra warranty, so you can ask once a year a new one when it stops again.
you ve got one point wrong. the filter you show with miele and say its a HEPA filter. the shown filter is NOT the HEPA filter. the HEPA filter in miele is built-in and you can not see, touch or remove that. pls do better research.
I'd be more interested in the lifetime of the vacuums. Had a Dyson cordless, the battery went to crap after 9 months and when the battery doesn't last as long, the suction isn't very good for a lot of the time you do get out of it. I think Miele will be the next brand we try.
You might’ve gotten a defective one we have Airbnb’s and the vacuums are used every single day in each house and we still get almost a half an hour on low with our old vacuums after five years I’m using them every day which I’m sure is more than the average person we are just upgraded all of them to v11 after I got the v11 outsize for my personal home And I assume the batteries only get better with each model that comes out so if you had an issue after that short of a period I would request a new device it probably is just a dud companies have to make billions of batteries a year sometimes they might just not be calibrated or built correctly

**** If you are TALL PERSON- go with Miele. I have used the Dyson‘s for six years now and I literally went to go take care of a neighbors cat and they had the upright Miele and I couldn’t believe the difference. Besides the normal not needing to hold the button and having it top-heavy, difficult on your wrist, I am 6 foot tall and the Dyson is not made for tall people I have to bend over when I go on my carpets. I can’t believe the difference of how much better my back feels having a longer vacuum rod/taller vacuum.
Thank you! It was the best compare video I’ve ever seen. And I just want to write about it. It was a big problem for me to understand about Miele models.
It's not worth having a washable filter as it takes days to dry and does not allow operation of the suction of these Dyson stick cleaners to work properly unless it is fully cleaned and rinsed out, dried or both. I have used a DC59 cordless stick cleaner for 4+ years, and have experienced issues trying to get these aspects of the Dyson suction system to work optimally. You will sometimes get the vacuum working intermittently until you fully resolve the cleanliness and dryness of their HEPA washable filters. The canister also needs periodic cleaning around the motor, otherwise the suction is also affected in the same way.
Good question! Both do well with long human hair but you may have an easier time with Miele. They perform great on high pile shag carpets so it is a good indication you will have no problem with human hair. Also, Miele's brush head is easier to remove and keep clean.
My 6 month experience with Miele triflex: Negatives: a) emptying the dust container b) complicated and delicate assembling-disassembling Positive: a) nice gadget to show off b) no cable, easy to slalom around the furniture. Conventional vacuum cleaners do it better and cost less (But they have a cable and people become more and more lazy ) Choice regretted.
I have a Dyson v8. At first it was convenient without a cord. Emptying was easy but now it opens itself and spills on the just cleaned floor. The battery had to be replaced after about 18 months and the Dyson replacement was never as good. The battery now stop starts and there is little to no suction. My biggest beef is I spend more time cleaning the soft floorhead than I do cleaning the floors. It is painful, dirty and frustrating. Hair tangles around the end nuts and requires all manor of sharp tools to get at it but with little success. The velvet strips on the foot had to be replaced and they barely lasted 3 months. The small roller on the foot is also now sticking and dragging and marking the wood floors. The filters have to be washed but then you are without a vacuum until they dry a day later. I am now in a dilemma, do I replace with another stick such as the Miele or go back to pulling a cord around. The vacuum I had pre Dyson was a Miele barrel which lasted well over 20 years and is still useable in the shed. I like the Triflex but will it last and how much cleaning of the vacuum itself is involved.
I have both Miele and Dyson and I prefer the Dyson. Dyson is much better for me. I know most of the comments here mentioning Miele but the Dyson did better cleaning for me. And I bought both top of the line models from both brands.
Did not know the diff bn the closed anf open system for the filter. Makes a massive difference bc I wanted a vacuum that blew out cleaner air not stirred up dusty one. Sad the decent features aren't added to the lower price point model. It doesn't have a good enough warranty for the price.
You screwed up the names of every single dyson in this video VII is 7, not V11. We can see it's not a font issue as at 1:20 you have HX1 on the same screen. Sloppy.
I was always happy with my Miele canister vacuum but I bought a Shark stick vac when I moved into an apartment. Now I'm back in a house and I've been saving for a Dyson v11. I've just heard about this Miele. How is it with long human hair? It's too bad Miele didn't copy Shark's super easy to clean brushroll. How often is it recommended to change the filter(s)? Thank You for this demo, I'm really interested in this one now.
Do the cordless perform as well as a conventional barrel, bagged vacuum such as a Miele c3? I’m talking about just cleaning the carpet, ignoring ease of use .
Is the Miele ok for hardwood floors. I find my Dyson marks my hardwood so I had been thinking of the v11 because it has a separate foam head for hardwoods. But I’d like to try the Miele.
You can just buy a soft head for your V11. The Dyson head is super pricey but there are lots of aftermarket heads for Dyson. Also I was reading that all the newer heads are backwards compatible, though I'm not sure about the V15 head.
You should have compared the process of emptying the bin. The process of emptying the Dyson bin is easier. But this video seemed biased towards the Miele.
We've had two $$$ top of the line Dyson sticks, and they're garbage. After the first one, I don't know why we let ourselves be talked into buying a more expensive "newer model with all the problems fixed" after the first one was SO bad, as was the heinous customer service. The second one was worse. Dyson knows they're selling $$$ obsolete crap, and they sooo don't care...remember, most vacuums work OK out of the box, so read reviews from real owners who've had their vacuum for at least six months. Look online for the complaints--that's the real story. A $600 to $800 vacuum should last years.
Yeah not true. Dyson on the V10 and newer are rated at 10 years+ on the battery at thousands of charge cycles. I sell Miele, and dysons battery efficiency and battery life is in fact better.
@@ikew3150 I've had to replace my Dyson DC59 battery twice in just 4 years. If the Malaysian made Dyson batteries were that good, then Dyson should have made a non trigger press ignition on all their iteration of cordless stick cleaners for the past decade now, and the have not. Miele and Samsung have the best removable battery configuration, and even dyson took ages to adopt that idea.
@@ikew3150 But the warranty is only 2 years for their machines, so you can take the 10 year life with a grain of salt. I've been reading a lot of one star reviews and the battery dying is a big complaint on almost all the cordless vacs.
I bought a Triflex in April last year. The motorhead broke down in July. I sent it for repairs, in November it broke down again. After 1 month of arguing with them that this is clearly not made to last, they decided to send me another motorhead, which took a month to arrive. After only 1 month of use the new motorhead broke down as well. Very disappointing!!!
The Miele filters aren’t washable according to Miele. The Triflex Achilles heel is its dust bin design. Having a filter that clogs easily and you can’t wash out is such poor design, dirty and very unrefined from a German designed product. Dyson cyclonic technology is the best in the industry. You only have to look at how long it takes the filters to even start to discolour. It’s several months in most cases, and there are no filters to bang or brush dirt from.
Dyson massively over priced each and every single model of theirs, bar none . Miele very expensive also, but the build quality, materials and beauty is better.
It doesn't make sense that the Miele is not a sealed system, yet did not increase the particles in the air... Are you sure the Miele isn't sealed? That's a big deal breaker for me.
Dyson are miles ahead of the cordless game. Miele are OK but there’s a number of drawbacks. 1. They are terrible on plush pile carpet. With only 2 speed settings and the absence of adjustable gates on the cleaner head, they are impossible to use on plush pile carpet. Dyson has 3 suction settings and adjustable gates to combat this. 2. Dyson has dynamic load sensor technology on models from V11 upwards. Adjusting the suction (and therefore battery life) depending on how much dirt is being picked up. 3. Dyson’s filtration is the best of any bagless machine. Miele filters become clogged very quickly compared with Dyson filters, which can be washed as little as once every 3 months. 4. The emptying mechanism on Dyson cordless vacuums is far superior to Miele. The ‘point and shoot’ of the V10 onwards makes emptying the dust canister much easier. Granted, this isn’t as hygienic as using disposable bags but if you’ve bought a bagless machine this will always be a drawback. I’ve nothing against Miele overall but Dyson trumps Miele and any other cordless machine on the market.
Dyson cordless stick vacuum cleaners were launched in 2010. Only the rubbish Root 6 handheld was launched in 2006 and couldn't be used to vacuum carpets.
We've had 2 Miele HX1 vacs and BOTH HAVE FAILED. The square drive that rotates the brush roller always strips and this is very bad design fault. If using plastic (as Miele do) it should be much larger to withstand the friction of the brush on carpets. Or, if they still want to use such a small drive dog to spin the brush, it must be made of metal, perhaps aluminum.
Same here, sealed system is a must but nice to see Miele enters the cordless market with some interesting designs. This review is more like advertisement though.
@@demekaisocree3149 Without a sealed system, the vacuum will partially exhaust what it vacuums up. Basically, you'll be vacuuming up what's on your floor and expelling it into the air. I don't want that, nobody wants that.
Where did you get this information? Was it mentioned in the video and did I miss it? When I googled it, the internet says that Miele has a completely sealed system?
I was genuinely interested in getting a Miele, before i saw this video. Sorry, DA, it smells of being a targeted ad for Miele. Especially the comments section. Any company that has to go to those lengths to compete, feels wonky.
I cant take your reviews seriously. You provide some good points but I happen to know emptying the bin on the Miele is awkward & the brush collects way more hair than the Dyson. Cleaning a vacuum head is a big deal & yet its not mentioned. Think I'll buy a Miele & a Dyson head.
The Miele isnt a sealed system and that basically turns it into a no. Well, that and the fact that it looks like a vacuum that you would find a Live Laugh Love house
Miele is sealed according other reviews. There are test made by youtubers, that measure particles coming out. It registered zero on Miele and Dyson. Both release cleaner air than, they take in. Not sure why this video states otherwise.
Dyson made in Malaysia < Miele Made in Germany. I sell and repair vacuums. The Tri flex is by far the superior vacuum. The V11 IMO just based off how many cone into my store for repair is Dysons worst stick vacuum. Not reliable at all for a 800 vacuum. The Cat and dog has a washable hepa filter. And is a slick Onyx color. 8lbs total weight made with quality Abs plastic not garbage plastic that breaks easily. He didn't show how easily the brush roller is removed for easy cleaning. It can be used as a 2 ft tall stair vacuum as well. Check ou Saras Vac Shack if you have questions I'd be happy to help or answer questions. 😉
Dyson wins with its low weight and easy emptying, Dyson also took the European Union to court and forced them to change the law relating to energy used in vacuum cleaners, much to the irritation of those manufactures who were relying on antiquated technologies and their big names to hide behind the outdated standards. Don't be swayed by the 1 hour run times of either model, unless your'e living in a mansion. These machines can deep clean, but in reality, they are used for quick cleanups. 30 minutes cleaning is enough for most people.
Only dyson has the vacuum that has the bar that the animal har does not wrap around. That’s important if you have long haired cats or dogs. They have the the screw tool it’s amazing. Saves so much time. No hair to unwind. I have the dyson V8
Was a Miele evangelist based on a secondhand top of the range dishwasher that eventually went down, not anymore. My experience has not been a good one, new vacuum cleaner (Revolution 500s) and fully stainless dishwasher, not cheap and both went wrong within weeks of purchase. Not bad after sales but that's not what I paid over the odds for, right? Supposedly stainless steel dishwasher that went rusty on the outside and brokedown (separate issue within first week after brand new purchase), and the vacuum cleaner has never been right (has a life of its own)...I would not waste your hard earned..
You should not buy anything second hand, especially things which rely on plumbing or a structure used to protect that plumbing. Any appliance would be prone to defective operation if it had been used badly before.
@@Eric76 The second hand dishwasher performed way better than the brand new dishwasher (Miele), That broke down in the first week, and as it has been several years since that purchase, not broken down since but has had issues with the external stainless finish and the wash quality has been mediocre at best...Never going to spaff money even on brand new Miele ever again.

Me 2
Did not know the diff bn the closed anf open system for the filter.
Sloppy.
No Question - The Miele
Noise level is just about the last thing I think about when it comes to a vacuum lol
Just ordered miele, not cat and dog edition
Really enjoying my v15 absolute
Price??
Great review. However I also would like to know the comparison between their weights, that’s important for a little lady like me.
The handle weight on the MIELE is only a fraction of the handle weight of the Dyson or other vacuums because the weight is down low so it's easier
4:17 No sealed system? Dyson automatically wins imo
Exactly.
The varta battery in the miele will outlast Dyson's battery
@@VacMaster1991 German Varta is better
varta batteries are the best. 11 years they last in my car.
@@BLACKOUTF30 Your review would make more sense if it wasn’t a punctuationless rant.
Dyson massively over priced each and every single model of theirs, bar none .
Miele very expensive also, but the build quality, materials and beauty is better.
@Dynamite Kid you're a proper dyson fanboy
It doesn't make sense that the Miele is not a sealed system, yet did not increase the particles in the air... Are you sure the Miele isn't sealed? That's a big deal breaker for me.
If it’s not sealed and it’s blowing dust back in the house no thank you
They actually got that wrong, it is a sealed system, and you can see a good test of the filters on vacuum wars channel.
I've owned two Mueller just bought my first dyson took the dyson back after a day doesn't even compare amd the build quality mielle beats hands down
if youre down here, yes your getting fkn old, youre watching a vacuum review, what happened to us.
Cats, many of them, and their kitty litter. That's what happened to us.
This is defiantly a Miele commercial.
Is Miele hx1 cat/dog worth the price?
I'm now hoping to ditch dyson products because off the cracking and split plastics on the bodies .
Only Made in Germany, so Miele is the best and amazing!
I've got both vacuums a V8 Dyson and Miele c1 power line love them both lol 🤣❤️👍
Main problem I've had with the Dyson is that the trigger has broken twice now 😅
I’ve always had Dyson so it’s Dyson for me and kirby
is a dyson or miele recommended in the video
Nice comparison...
The plastics on the Dyson after 4 years is rubbish … our v10 absolute is falling apart !!
Needs an edit
Hard to believe that the Miele isn't a sealed system, that's an instant no, no matter what other nice perks they may have.
Same here, sealed system is a must but nice to see Miele enters the cordless market with some interesting designs.
This review is more like advertisement though.
Why is a sealed system so important? Trying to decide between the 2 brands?
@@demekaisocree3149 Without a sealed system, the vacuum will partially exhaust what it vacuums up. Basically, you'll be vacuuming up what's on your floor and expelling it into the air. I don't want that, nobody wants that.
@@XxMsrSzprzxX thank you!!
Where did you get this information? Was it mentioned in the video and did I miss it? When I googled it, the internet says that Miele has a completely sealed system?
It looks like you're business sells miele and not dyson. It makes doing a real comparison review challenging i suppose.
Correction! Dyson isn't respected at all. They are just marketed well.
The Miele is a terrible design for the dust collector you should test it is sxxt
The Miele is so heavy that you cannot use it with one hand.
I was genuinely interested in getting a Miele, before i saw this video. Sorry, DA, it smells of being a targeted ad for Miele. Especially the comments section. Any company that has to go to those lengths to compete, feels wonky.
@Dynamite Kid Yep, still waiting for v15 release :/ but no matter, I’ve made my decision.
@Dynamite Kid Yep, still waiting for v15 release :/ but no matter, I’ve made my decision.
Daysin mi alsam miele mi alsam diye kararsız🙄 kalan bir Türk hello hii🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷
Ne aldınız peki bende dyson ve miele arasında kararsızım?
The Miele isnt a sealed system and that basically turns it into a no. Well, that and the fact that it looks like a vacuum that you would find a Live Laugh Love house
Miele is sealed according other reviews. There are test made by youtubers, that measure particles coming out. It registered zero on Miele and Dyson. Both release cleaner air than, they take in. Not sure why this video states otherwise.
Noisy background music
30 minutes cleaning is enough for most people.
miele choice
Only dyson has the vacuum that has the bar that the animal har does not wrap around. That’s important if you have long haired cats or dogs. They have the the screw tool it’s amazing. Saves so much time. No hair to unwind. I have the dyson V8
Bon en gros il dit quoi ??
Dyson all the way.
Have you tried using the Miele? Using it was the deciding factor, not the name.
Miele is far superior to Dyson
You are kidding? Dyson is absolute trash, all noise.
You have to hold the button up all the time you using it that is big minus for dyson
U recommend a not sealed system so u breath in dirty air when u clean wtf. Dyson all the way. Love my v10.
Exactly
Miele
I would have loved this video without the background music. Otherwise, nice comparison.
Hepa filter washing is a nightmare. Gypsy-Dyson way much better with emptying container.
It's a vacuum cleaner. Pick whatever you like.
You didn't mention the weight of the vacuum, which is probably a greater consideration for females than for males.
Paid by Miele.
