I don't usually comment on videos, but after watching just one of your videos, I feel more inspired than I have in months that I can achieve great lengths with my hair too. First off, i was immediately impressed that your hair texture looks exactly like mine, which I've found to be a rather rare occurrence in social media. Furthermore, I was unbelievably impressed that you can detangle in just an hour and a half with hair that's twice as long as mine. Currently (and for the last couple of years) my biggest struggle is detanlging. At around year 2 for me, I waned into exclusive finger detangling, and somewhere along the line it resulted in me having 2 detangling sessions on wash day, both taking about 2 hours each. Also it either created or failed to remedy my problem of excessive breakage, so I recently decided to reincorporate the wide-tootthed comb into my regimen, which is why I'm elated to see that someone with my same fragile, forever tangled hair type has had success while regularly using a comb. I apologize for the extreme length of this comment, but I just wanted to inform you of how excited I am to have found your channel, and I would love to talk with you about your regimen and experiences in more detail if you ever have the time to entertain such conversation :)
+Emani Stanford (Math Coach Emani), I'm so glad I could help inspire you. Thank you!!! Regarding the difficulty of finding our hair texture on social media - I agree 100%. I used to feel the exact same way. I'd watch many videos of girls without my hair texture and get super excited to try things they did only to have it fall flat. Lol. Anyway, I'm so glad you found my detangling video helpful. I don't claim to have all the answers, but hopefully I can share some things I've learned along the way. Detangling has always been the single most difficult thing about my regimen and I'm always trying to find ways to make things easier. I'm actually planning on trying something entirely new this year to reduce tangling in the first place! Anyway, I'd be happy to chat with you anytime and share tips. Thanks for watching!
you make things unbelievably simple. i subscribe to a lot of women who are 4c & some of their routines are complex and I understand why their routine is the way it is, but yours is very easy and simple. i see understand why your channel name is "EFFICIENTLY" Natural
+SHELILAH Allen awwww, that means so much to me. Thank you! Glad I could provide some useful info. Lol @ the denman brush. I've tried, but have never been able to use one of those successfully. Hope it turned out ok.
Wow, I think it's awesome that you respond to your viewer's comments. That's thoughtful; I know it must get to be time consuming. I hope your channel will continue to grow and get lots of love and support!
Omg. I just watched your hair journey video and binge watched everything else. You are where I want to be, hair wise and career wise (I'm a radiation therapy student right now but my goal is to apply to med school when I graduate). I was planning on cutting my hair soon because I'm transitioning. I didn't want to because i love my length, but everyone else was telling me to cut it because my hair wouldn't be healthy if I didn't. I was just starting to believe them and give in and cut my hair; but seeing your video proved my point and proved me right. You're amazing.
+Isis Lloyd aww, you are too kind! Thank you!! I'm so glad you enjoyed my journey and other videos. Trust me, you definitely don't have to cut your hair! You can transition successfully if you protect your hair 😊. That's awesome that you plan on going to Med school after finishing up radiation therapy school. Are you interested in radiology? If you ever need any advice regarding the process, don't hesitate to send me a message - PM or email at efficientlynatural@gmail.com.
Efficiently Natural This has really made my day! Thank you so much. And yes ma'am! My goal is to become a Radiation Oncologist. I love working with cancer patients. ❤️
Thank you so much for this video. My daughter has waist length thick natural hair and I have been looking for an idea of how to cut the detangling process down. I tried it last night and it worked!!!! (cartwheels).
This is a good idea. I'll try this method when my hair is longer. I see other naturals spending hours upon hours trying to finger detangle....no wander so many go back to the relaxer 🤔. This looks a lot faster and more efficient.
+Savvy Sion thank you! While I love the idea of solely finger detangling, I don't think I'll ever be able to do it exclusively. I feel like there's no way I could get all the shed hairs out! Props to those who can! Though, I still think you can definitely use a comb without causing damage if you are careful.
Efficiently Natural I won't solely finger detangle either...the thought of it makes my fingers hurt 😩. Ha! I'm definitely "pro wide tooth comb"! With gentleness of course 😜.
Hair goals!! I'm almost there tho. I've noticed when I detangle in a nice hot steamy shower that the process is so much easier and my hair feels so moisturized! I may invest in a steamer. Thank you!
Enjoyed this vlog👍🏿 I came across your channel just this morning and having 4b & c hair myself (last texturiser Jul 2014), am looking forward to learning how to achieve more healthy and longer natural tresses. Looking forward to more fabulous vlogs from you 😁👌🏾 New UK Subscriber!
+Michelle Morgan-Leslie, thank you so much for checking out my channel!!!! I certainly hope to be able to share what little wisdom I've gained along the way. Thanks for subscribing!!
I can't believe it only took 1.5 hours to detangle?! Wow that is impressive considering the length and thickness of your hair. Would you say that the steamer helps to cut down on time significantly? Your hair is amazing.
+herlucidsky, thanks! Lol, that 1.5 hours still felt like forever but it is much better than detangling without the steamer. I believe the steamer does help cut down on the detangling time a bit. Now, my hair wasn't perfectly detangled because I still got more shed hairs out in the shower under water...but it kept me from being in the shower doing that for hours.
Gosh, you hit on such a crucial dilemma. Keeping hair "professional" for work has been a huge deal for me too. I can't always wear my huge braid/twist outs or styles that seem too big/intricate because sometimes it draws too much attention..which is sort of annoying. I would even love to wear head wraps to work, but in my line of work I'm not sure I could do that. Nonetheless, I've slowly been working on developing styles that I feel are work appropriate. Even so, I hope to be able to find ways to branch out more and even find ways to make a larger variety of natural hair styles more "acceptable" in the work place. What "professional" styles do you wear now?
I love heat on my hair that the only thing that controls my tangles and when your hair tension blow dry the tangles slide right out since the strand are straight.
+Brenda Lee that's a great idea! I'm currently a resident physician but can definitely make a video about my education/career path one of these days. Thank you for watching!!!
I wanna cry I wish my hair was as long as yours. With my hair stretched it’s only about armpit length but my shrinkage makes it look like I have 3 inches of hair!!
+Marie Pardieu aww, I'm so glad I could give you hope! And yes - I plan to do a video on growing hair in protective styles like braids soon. Thanks for checking out my channel. 😊
When I grow up I want my hair to be like yours. LOL! You have very pretty hair. What other benefits are there to using a steamer? I never thought of using it.
+natural nicky awww, you are too kind! Thank you! There are so many benefits to using the steamer aside from detangling. Check out my video on steaming natural hair where I go into a bit more detail about what I do/why I do it. m.ruclips.net/video/NQ99Esiq-R0/видео.html
- What conditioning products are you using in this video? Couldn't quite see the name of it. - Also, what shampoo/products...moisturizers...etc do you use in general? Thanks!
+Dimples, my product video is on the way!!! But in this video I'm using OGX Moroccan Argan Creme conditioner --www.ogxbeauty.com/hair/moroccan-argan-creme/conditioner/
+Mandy Osei i don't have an exact schedule but I probably wash every 2 weeks to 1 month depending on what my hair is doing/product build up. I'd like to do it more often but it can be so time consuming!
+Kimberly Charles, I can't say what trimming schedule might be right for everyone. I personally rarely trim....maybe every year or so. If I notice a lot of single stranded knots or split ends then I will "dust" more often. It also depends on how you wear your hair. My ends are usually protected or stretched so I don't think they get as much damage/SSKs as they would if I wore my hair out all the time....so I don't need to trim as often. So it definitely depends on your regimen.
+Jasira hahaha, great question. I actually just stole my husband's fabric steamer so I'm not sure where he got it. Maybe Walmart? I'd probably recommend you get a dedicated hair steamer like the qredew though. I plan on getting one but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. If you're in a pinch, a fabric steamer works.. but just be careful and use a low setting. Check out my video on steaming my natural hair for more info and specifics on the steamer I used. And thank you!!!!!!
Yowza! Look like my tangles! Haha Water really does wonders, right? I avoided water for too long, not realizing how helpful is truly is. Your hair is so gorgeous!! Congrats on your weight loss too, I need to get it together! Thanks for the inspo😘 *By the way, please stop by my channel to say hello!
+LoveLaRieXO, thank you! You're too kind. I was the same way and avoided water for wayyyy too long! I'll definitely check out your channel too. Thanks for stopping by. 😊
+Ebony Green, thank you! Yup I slowly transitioned from relaxed hair over the course of 6 years. Check out my video on my natural hair journey for more details. Thanks so much for watching!
I never knew how to deal with my 4c hair. Everything your NOT suppose to do I do lol. I have a love hate relationship with it. I love it but I hate dealing with it
+Tamara Lancaster, nope it's not. Hahahhaha, though I did consider that once back in the day but decided against it. I don't flat iron often enough or with high enough heat to heat train.
Thanks! It is beautiful! I have 4b hair and it's hard for me to retain length! I did learn from your video to keep it stretched helps out! Thank you! Be blessed! Merry Christmas!
ladies our afro texture hair is beautiful! so thick and has the ability to grow really long!!
+Olivia Mcbeth, cosigning! Thanks for watching!

+SHELILAH Allen awwww, that means so much to me. Thank you! Glad I could provide some useful info. Lol @ the denman brush. I've tried, but have never been able to use one of those successfully. Hope it turned out ok.

+Knotty x Nature, thanks!!!! It does get time consuming but I will try to continue while I'm still able to. Thank you so much for your well wishes!
Ur hair is gorgeous😍😍😍 whenever I see Ur face it makes me think of Jennifer Hudson
+Angel Golden, it's so funny that you say that!!! Both my sister and I get that all the time. And thank you so much!!!

i need that hand held steamer in my life. i'm heading over to your hair steamer video
+MsLeelee94, lol! Awesome! It works really well for me. Hope it serves you well. 😊

+Justcallme Shy, it works so well!
steamers are life when it comes to detangling!!! gorgeous hair!!! new subbie! 😁
+Lady Lark, I agree! Thanks for subscribing!
Oh my 😍😍 your hair is absolutely gorgeous
Tell me I'm not the only one who thinks its easier to take care of long hair. Natural or otherwise
How so?
Its harder and it takes more products which it costly on people's pockets
I can't believe it only took 1.5 hours to detangle?! Wow that is impressive considering the length and thickness of your hair. Would you say that the steamer helps to cut down on time significantly? Your hair is amazing.

finally someone with my texture hair
Beautiful hair
Thanks for the videos, I'm struggling with keeping my hair healthy while staying natural and "professional" while at work.

YES! I feel like your hair is like mine and I'm also curious about using a steamer.
hmmm....i wonder if i could steam my hair with the my little steamer? great video sis!!
Wow you hair is gorgeous
I noticed in one of your videos that you were wearing a lab coat, can you do a video on your education and career in the medical field?
+Brenda Lee that's a great idea! I'm currently a resident physician but can definitely make a video about my education/career path one of these days. Thank you for watching!!!
What field of medicine have you chosen and how long is your residency program?
I wanna cry I wish my hair was as long as yours. With my hair stretched it’s only about armpit length but my shrinkage makes it look like I have 3 inches of hair!!
I did this last night with a leave in.Thank you got a good fluffy twist out.I'll start doing this a least once a week(wash day)🙂
+Ariel wen. Yay! So glad your twist out come out looking good! Glad I could help in some small way. 😊
Wonderful. I like your routine.

your hair is so beautiful...girl I'm trying to tell you. I'm so lazy with mine......
Man, you give me hope. My hair is exactly like yours. Any tips on how to grow hair with braids?
+Marie Pardieu aww, I'm so glad I could give you hope! And yes - I plan to do a video on growing hair in protective styles like braids soon. Thanks for checking out my channel. 😊
How long is your hair
where can i get that comb? Is it seamless?
+MsNaturale Michelle sorry, I've had this comb forever! I don't even remember where I got it from anymore. I'll look into it though. It is seamless.
Once again thanks for a helpful video! Do you wash your hair in those twist too?
+Ariel Tyler thank you for watching!!!! I'm glad it was helpful. And yep, I washed my hair in the twists.
Hello fellow natural I love your hair and length. To get to where you are in your hair journey how were you able to retain length? please share🤗
+JaVonna Williams, thank you so much!!!! I discuss some of my tips for retaining length in my video on growing long natural hair. Hope that helps!
Hair goals ❤️❤️❤️
hey, do you use a boar bristle brush now, or do you only use your fingers and a wide tooth comb?
Yup, no brush
really needed this. thanks for sharing

Love your hair, how often do wash your hair?
+Mandy Osei i don't have an exact schedule but I probably wash every 2 weeks to 1 month depending on what my hair is doing/product build up. I'd like to do it more often but it can be so time consuming!
can you tell me where you purchase that steamer?
+Brenda Smith, it was likely purchased from Walmart or Costco. Check out my video on steaming natural hair for product model specifics.
Your hair is beautiful! I want to grow my hair. I have been trimming my hair every three months and I wonder if that's excessive, is it?
+Kimberly Charles, I can't say what trimming schedule might be right for everyone. I personally rarely trim....maybe every year or so. hi their. where did you get your steamer?

Do you clip you own ends??
+Shar Wells, yup I do!
I never knew how to deal with my 4c hair. Everything your NOT suppose to do I do lol. I have a love hate relationship with it. I love it but I hate dealing with it
Is your hair heat trained?
+Tamara Lancaster, nope it's not. Hahahhaha, though I did consider that once back in the day but decided against it. I don't flat iron often enough or with high enough heat to heat train.

NappyHeadedJojoba also has a great detangeling method, using natural products, on her long natural hair. Check it out.
+LuvMyFro110, thanks!
How long does it take you to detangle?
+StarlessTerrace, too long! Probably an hour to an hour and a half when it's this bad.
if you are African where are you from? and can you do a video on time management please?
+Dannie'sWorld, I'm Nigerian. Sure, I could certainly do a video on time management. Do you mean in regards to studying/school/education?
